Going down hill. I have been going here for 4 years and its not what it used to be. I used to love this place. Service, quality, friendliness, ingredients, etc - its all going south. They are on their way out; maybe not tomorrow, but the tide has changed, and unless the owner takes notice, the end is in sight. Mr. Motos pizza is better, but is working out their operations issues as a new business. I will be going there from now on. I went back Pearl recently only to find it was even worse. The staff literally had a snarl, the ingredients were obviously low quality (poor taste), they dont take your order as you walk in, so the wait is twice as long as it used to be, and the place was overall chaotic, with an unfriendly staff. I will continue to get my pizza from Mr. Motos in P.B.

legit pizza by the slice location...kind of crazy i had never been here before. showing up aroun 9 pm on a...saturday i think...kinda limited my options. i had wanted a slice of the margarita. ended up with the greek (which was totally margarita just with olives on it), and also some other pepperoni & spinach type one. the slices are generous and fresh. id love to order a whole pie something to really get it in all its glory. i will say this, and i will recommend you listen to me and not the masses on here: the garlic knots are terrible. dont get them. they are relatively cheap and you can order in 1 item increments which migth leave you saying "oh well it was only __$" but let me save you the trouble and just skip them. they just taste doughy and flavorless.

Ok, heres the deal - this is old school American/New York pizza - rubbery crust, gobs of cheese and greasy. its a good version of that but thats all it is. I heard this was voted best pizza in La Jolla and I have to disagree. For me, that title goes to Amicis - which serves yuppy pizza in an upscale space. Second place in La Jolla, I would say Carinos pizza which serves NY style pizza as well. The beauty of this place is that they make delivery easy and its cheaper than Amicis, so we find ourselves turning to this place for the quick fix - which they do well.

If youre looking for a NYC slice, this is the place! I Moved to San Diego from NYC 2 years ago.. Ive been to all the recommended "best" pizza places in the San Diego area looking for something that would remind me of NY. Pizza on Pearl is by far the best. Its not only as good as NYC pizza, its better than many NYC pizzerias, and would rank very high if competing with the NYC market.

This place has some of the most delicious pizza Ive ever had! My sister in law brought us here for some slices during our recent visit to San Diego. Pizza on Pearl is her fav and if shes craving pizza, shell drive 45 minutes to get it here because its just that good. Your taste buds will be delighted if you pick Pizza on Pearl!

Gross. Caesar salad dressing looked like gel. Lettuce looked like it came from a bag. The chicken on the buffalo chicken pizza had faux grill marks like they came from a freezer bag from Costco. Claim to be gluten free but have a sign on the counter when you walk in warning people who have celiacs...

Best pizza in La Jolla! The pizza here is delicious and so creative with so many varieties to choose from. My personal favorite is their spinach & ricotta. The garlic knots are so savory and addictive! Dip them in some marinara sauce and its a party in my mouth. I highly recommend coming here.

Excellent pizza. Excellent customer service. Affordable. An overall great joint. If you are in the La Jolla area, you cant go wrong with Pizza on Pearl. The meat lovers, pepperoni, and buffalo chicken are all great. You really cant go wrong with any of the choices they have available.

Friendly staff, reasonable prices, clean and inviting. Large variety of pizza slices coooked and ready to eat allows everyone to get their personal choice. After being heated, my slice had a crispy crust and tasted amazing. I would here here often if I didnt live 6 hours away.

The best pizza in La Jolla, but they need to move into the 21st century and offer gluten free pizzas. When they do that, they will get 5 stars from me. Most premium pizza places in La Jolla offer gluten free. Its time to get onboard.

Really yummy pizza (lots of selection), fast service, friendly staff… they gave my kids a chocolate chip cookie after they ate their pizza. Parking was a little tough, but definitely worth it! ...and definitely get a cannoli!

Great pizza, better staff, best way to enjoy dinner with a family. Everyone was enjoyable and accommodating. Tip them, i didnt :( thinking it was like a carryout thing and then they were over the top with service.

True New York-style pizzeria with lots of the basic slices done just right plus lots of really interesting topping combinations you wont easily find elsewhere. Try a slice of the POP pizza. You wont be disappointed!

Great pizza slices. I had BCR, Buffalo, and Meatlovers and enjoyed all of them. Good prices and the size of the slice is great too. If youre in the area give this place a try. Fast and friendly service as well.

Best La Jolla Pizza place by far. NY quality but better. The fresh ingredients they use make their pizza melt in your mouth. Im am kind of a health nut and I gotta say Pizza on Pearl is healthy pizza :)

BIG fan of the crew @ P.O.P. Its a chore to get a decent slice of pie out here on the west coast, but these guys know what they are doing. You cant go wrong with the Bacon/Chicken/Ranch! Give em a shot!

SO GOOD probably best gluten free pizza Ive had so far. Guys were friendly and helpful and place feels welcoming and fun. A thousand different ready-to-go slices if you dont need gf.

Finding the parking was a problem. Good new York style pizza.. They have other options like gluten free pizza also. You can order Pizza by slice also.
