Tonight my wife and I experienced the Hood Supply Company "No Service Dog" Policy and violation of Titles II and III of the ADA. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted by a waitress and asked if we could sit in the bar. We were told it was open seating. Then the waitress noticed my service dog. The waitress told us there were no dogs allow. We announced that it was not a dog it was a fully trained service animal and said that as a service animal and, under the ADA, we were allowed to sit wherever any patron would be allowed to sit and showed the Service Animal ID Card. We were then told the we would have to sit on the outside patio (still a violation of the ADA). I again stated that this was a service animal covered by the ADA and that we should be allowed to sit wherever any patron would be allowed to sit. We asked to speak to the manager. The waitress went to the back of the restaurant then returned. Upon her return she informed us that we would have to sit in a booth against a wall (a high top table was available in the bar) (continued violation of the ADA). We again stated that this was a service animal and that we were allowed to sit wherever any patron would be allowed to sit and that they were in violation of the ADA and subject to fines etc. We again asked to speak to the manager. Upon her return from the back she then said we could sit wherever. I asked again to speak to the manager. The waitress went to the back and returned state that the manager would not come out to talk to us. Turns out that the "manager" is also the owner of the restaurant. This was not a confrontational exchange but frustrating and disappointing nonetheless. I do not recommend this location to anyone with service animals. I will definitely be spreading the word to my fellow veterans with service animals. For the Edification of the staff and Management of the Hood Supply Company: Handlers Rights (Service Animal) a) Public Facilities and Accommodations Titles II and III of the ADA makes it clear that service animals are allowed in public facilities and accommodations. A service animal must be allowed to accompany the handler to any place in the building or facility where members of the public, program participants, customers, or clients are allowed. Even if the business or public program has a "no pets" policy, it may not deny entry to a person with a service animal. Service animals are not pets. So, although a "no pets" policy is perfectly legal, it does not allow a business to exclude service animals. When a person with a service animal enters a public facility or place of public accommodation, the person cannot be asked about the nature or extent of his disability. Only two questions may be asked: 1. Is the animal required because of a disability? 2. What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? These questions should not be asked, however, if the animals service tasks are obvious. For example, the questions may not be asked if the dog is observed guiding an individual who is blind or has low vision, pulling a persons wheelchair, or providing assistance with stability or balance to an individual with an observable mobility disability. A public accommodation or facility is not allowed to ask for documentation or proof that the animal has been certified, trained, or licensed as a service animal. Local laws that prohibit specific breeds of dogs do not apply to service animals. A place of public accommodation or public entity may not ask an individual with a disability to pay a surcharge, even if people accompanied by pets are required to pay fees. Entities cannot require anything of people with service animals that they do not require of individuals in general, with or without pets. If a public accommodation normally charges individuals for the damage they cause, an individual with a disability may be charged for damage caused by his or her service animal.

First off, its 99 degrees outside and we drove 40 minutes to get there. All I wanted was a cold beer. We ordered our drinks from the waitress. After 15 minutes the waitress apologized and stated the bartender had to step away for a minute. Really, are you kidding me right now? So we were asked to order our dinner before we even received cocktails. Forget the appetizer, it wasnt offered, and we had something picked out. Food was just ok. Skimpy french dip. Burger was acceptable. Service and ambience sucked. Too dark with dated harvest gold lighting and uncomfortable wood chairs with no padding. There was no manager in sight or we would have complained.

Its a beautiful facility. Old school industrial, with brick and iron; beautiful inside. We did not much care for the music on the sound system (modern "country") but the other folks there liked it fine, so I figure it was our problem. Our waitress Whitney was top notch and very knowledgeable about the menu. We only had margaritas and appitizers, but everything we tasted was excellent. We are food snobs, and it seemed to us that the cooking staff here really know what theyre doing. The next time we are in the area we will definately be coming back for a steak...Highly recommended!!!

Food is very good, havent had anything I didnt like and prices are fair. The downside is the bar. Service is almost non-existent if theres more than 2 people in there. The guy that has been behind the bar everytime Ive been there is a nice enough guy but is the worst bartender ever. Go for the food, skip it if youre just wanting drinks.

I found this place by accident just cruising SB on the River Road. Very nice folks working there, greeting me warmly. Got the strawberry French Toast - humongous and delicious! To those gripping about the service, its a small town bistro, and if you want fast service, perhaps McDonalds would be more to your liking.

Ill keep this brief. The food is good, but a little pricey. The ambiance is comfortable, until the staff makes you feel like youve been there too long. And as for the service, the wait staff is less than polite if youre with your wife, but overly friendly if youre not.

Recently opened American fare in the town of Hood on the River Rd. Pleasantly surprised, nice decor and great food. I had the burger and my brother had the french dip, both are worth repeating. From the plates I saw, it all looks good, I must return to taste the scampi.

The food was just okay. The 80s radio station playing loudly was a bummer. Would have been nice to hear a sound track that kind of reminds one of the beautiful Delta location. The servers were very nice and professional. But the decor is more like a dark bar.
