This place has amazing food. I used to get the edokko don (katsu don with shrimp tempura on top) almost every time, until I discovered yakiniku (thinly sliced pork in an amazing miso and onion sauce). The gomoku katayakisoba is also excellent, as are many of the other dishes. Service can be quite slow (more than an hour lunch when you are trying to go fast) and there is very limited seeing, so I only ever order take out any more. Unfortunately, they are often wildly inaccurate on their estimates of when food will be ready, and have been known to wait until you show up to start cooking (or even check to see if they have the ingredients available). That said, I still love getting food here.

This restaurant was not busy to justify the ridiculously slow service! It. Was nearly 10 minutes before we received our cans of soda. The soup arrived 15 minutes later. Our dinner took approximately another 30 minutes to arrive. We ordered Sashimi and Tonkatsu for dinner. The Tonkatsu was served 7 minutes after the Sashimi arrived. They do to go orders. Those orders take priority before the customers in the dining room. Im guessing its great if you call for an order... Never again!!! Now I know to go to Taco Bell next door!!!!

I lived in Tokyo for 18 months approximately 3 years ago.I was for a company assignment. I ate out almost every night.Clients would take me out eating in the Sacramento area. The area has the greatest good of all Tokyo and most expensive.Edokko Japanese Noodle is the closes of the restaurants in Sacramento. Exclusive selection of fishes. Excellent cutting skills.Feels like the old times in Tokyo. The greatest restaurant Ive been to so far in the U.S.

Great down home Japanese food. By that I mean, this is what you can find at any little eatery in Japan. I grew up in the area and remember when this joint opened. 4 years in Japan and now live up in WA. When I come "home", I always make a stop here! Its a little casual place doesnt put on airs because it doesnt need to. The food speaks for itself. Inexpensive, friendly and delicious! Local run and owned!

Sorry, when I saw NOODLE HOUSE I got excited. I was served miso ramen with generic top ramen "that you buy at the store, dehydrated" noodles. I was kinda shocked. When I commented that I would pay more for quality, the hostess/waitress said "Its hard to find authentic...." Really? Good food at a good price but its not hard to find good noodles.

Unfortunately, We didnt get a chance to try the food. We walked in a 8 pm and was informed they were closing early tonight. If you advertise you are open until 9 pm, you should be. I expect they have all the customers they need.
