I ate here one time with my family. It was just after lunch hours and it was rather slow; since the lunch crowd had just cleared out. the food and service was incredible. The pasta was delicious, pizza was a bit thin for my liking, but delicious non the less. Afterwards, I had the best gelato that I have ever had and it was a wonderful experience all around. Since this experience was so great, I could not wait to return with some family members who were visiting from out of town. Unfortunately this never ended up happening because the restaurant was unable to accommodate us. I called and spoke to one woman who informed me that they allow reservations for parties of 10 or more, otherwise it is first come, first serve...fair enough... So, I rallied my family to go, 5 adults, 5 children under the age of 5 and called back to make a reservation for the following evening. NOW, the policy is that the reservations have to be before 3pm. This unfortunately wound work for us because I have a baby shower, so I asked if they could accommodate us at 4pm. The girl on the phone said "only a manager can allow that"...okay, "may I speak to a manager?" I spoke to the manager and explained that with having 5 children with us, waiting could be a little chaotic, since there is nothing else to do and to be honest, it isnt the nicest area, where I would let my kids run around outside. I was hoping that they could accommodate us at 4pm, rather than 3pm. This woman was so cold and rude on the phone. She snapped at me, shut me down, said that they have well behaved children there all the time and basically treated me like an idiot for even calling her to the phone. And idiot with unruly kids. I think the reservation policy is rediculois and I especially hate when the policy conveniently changes and has time cut offs that it didnt have 5 hours ago. I definitely have a bad taste in my mouth about this restaurant now, because I do not like to spend money with rude people. So sad because the food was SO good :(

My boyfriend and I were visiting California from Toronto around Christmas of 2015. We were recommended to go to Eatalian after our flight over DTLA. Once there we were seated very fast and immediately brought a loaf of bread and water by our waiter Gill. One thing that is extremely important to us during a meal is that we have water at all times because we like to drink a lot of it. Not only did Gill make sure that we always had water he made sure that we always had bread at the table. He even went ahead and gave us a delicious loaf of sun dried tomato bread "to make our trip from Toronto worthwhile" is what he said. The menu was excellent and Gill was more than helpful with answering any questions we had and with making suggestions to suit our taste. The appetizers and entrées we ordered were fantastic. Once finished eating we were instructed to go check out the pastry section of the restaurant to pick our dessert. The selection was fantastic and delicious. Heres where things get special. While away from the table our waiter Gill asked my boyfriend who stayed back what my name was. When I came back to the table Gill presented me with a small cake with candles on it and proceeded to sing me happy birthday. I guess that Gill had overheard us talking about it being my birthday so he went ahead without asking any of us and did something amazing for me. As much as this review is about the restaurant its self I would like to make my point clear that Gill is an amazing man. He told us that we made his night just because of how happy we were with his service. I can only hope that someone reads this that is able to reward Gill for his kindness. If you are the manager or owner of this restaurant please make sure to tell Gill what a great job he is doing. That guy is someone youre definitely going to want to keep around. Restaurant is definitely 5 stars but Gill gets 10 stars for being great! Thanks a lot man.

My wife and I have been dining here for over a year. Its really close to our home and we both love Italian food. The first half dozen visits were really great. As they have become more popular, their service has drastically dropped in quality. Our last trip here for our date night was truly disappointing. It took exceptionally long to be seated, not because tables werent available but because they were so understaffed that there was simply nobody available to handle the incoming patrons. While waiting to be seated, we asked if we could order a bottle of wine for our table since we had no desire to order wine at the "by the glass" price when we would be going through an entire bottle by the end of the night. We were told wed have to wait while the hostess asked if that was okay. 10 minutes later we still didnt have an answer so we just went around the hostess to the wine bar and ordered anyway. That was simply unacceptable. Then, when we finally did get to order our dinner and waited at least 15 minutes longer than it had ever taken to receive the exact same meals during previous visits, my pasta was completely undercooked. I ended up waiting for a new dish while my wife ate her meal so hers wouldnt get cold. Then, as would be common practice at any other restaurant, they failed to offer to comp a portion of the meal, a free dessert etc. Just a simple apology for the wait and then they moved on like their error hadnt been a huge inconvenience after our already poor experience leading up to this point. My wife and I plan to give them one last chance after a 2-3 month gap since our last visit to see if theyve managed to catch up with their poor staffing management or if we just have to delete Eatalian from our list of preferred restaurants.

Quickie: + Large dining area, great service + Amazing food selection and delicious cuisine + Gelato bar and dessert selection is on point --- Things to try: - Carbonara - Pesto gnocchi - Brando pizza - Rock pizza - Tortelli verdi Food: Like its sister cafe, I just love this place. They do dine-in, take-out, whatever you need. I love the Carbonara and Ive had a good assortment of their pizza selection. The thin crust recipe is delicious - you cant go wrong. The Marlon Brando is one of my personal favorites. They have a yummy gelato selection too. Parking: Small-sized lot behind the building, plenty of street parking around. Location: Its seems a little out of place around all the industrial buildings on the street. This aint no Olive Garden lookin place. While the surrounding area looks a little sketch, not to worry, just park nearby and youre fine. Overview: Super highly super super super recommended. Love this Italian dream of a restaurant. You wont be disappointed with whatever you choose off the menu.
