Even when youre trying to watch $, eventually you get "cabin fever" and have to go SOMEWHERE. This is a refreshing, authentic, and good night out. The sandwiches looked great, people definitely enjoyed the pizzas. The lasagna was meaty (I load mine with spinach when I make it at home), and the garlic bread was awesome. They offer wine by the glass, but also sell bottles. I bought a bottle of decent wine for $7, and they were happy to uncork it and we split it among 3 of us. The adjoining deli is great, with a wide selection of pastas, spices, condiments. Great prices, esp. on pasta & olive oils. The gelato display case is impressive. I liked that there was a wide variety of flavors, and each container was full (dont you hate when the ice cream bucket is down to the last 10% and you know you are getting a scoop of something that has been sitting there forever getting freezer burn?). I got the blood orange gelato - it was definitely true to the flavor; orange-y, citrus-y, and with a tangy/ tart kick that blood oranges really have.

Monte Carlos is my go-to Italian deli. Just stepping in and smelling the aroma of seasonings and simmering pasta dishes is a treat. Theres a huge variety of different pastas and olive oils, and they always have plenty of specialty items such as multicolored farfalle or ridiculously long spaghetti. I usually stop in for their pizza dough to make my homemade pizzas, and Im a big fan of their mozzarella and Italian sausage. Theres also a bakery section with many different pastries and cookies along with the classic tiramisu and gelato. Less impressive is their cafeteria-style restaurant. Its probably why the place smells so good, but I have never gotten a dish there that Ive truly loved. The usual fare is present -- lasagna, meatballs, paninis, pizza -- but most of it is bland and not worth the money. So as an eatery, it is only okay, but as a deli, its the best in town. Just having the smells of food from the restaurant wafting around the deli adds so much; I only wish it tasted a little better.

This place keeps getting worse.... No prices listed on the sides/everything cost extra. Everyone has a attitude there! They literally made me a Turkey Sandwich with 2 slices of Turkey. I asked to speak to the owner (TONY) and he was the least bit usefully. I asked him how many slices do you typically put on a $10 sandwich plate and he said he does not know. He did tell me however that they have a set guideline of slices they put and it has not changed for over 20years. Yet he did not know what the amount was,lol He did nothing to fix the problem he only tried to deflect. My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid. I used to eat here 4 times a week. I am seriously thinking about not returning anymore and that should say something given my history with this place. The owner Tony is something else I must say...

10 years ago I would have given this place a 5+, but I have watched it slowly go down the tube. Service is unrecognizable from when I was a kid and the old Italian guys making jokes to the customers. Now they are rude, unwilling to work with you. My mom wanted her meat stacked a certain way (like she has been getting it done for 40 years) and the guy told her "what does it matter?" I ordered a sandwich with lettuce rather than tomatoes (LIke I have ordered it for 30 years) and they told me I had to order the salad separately. I offered to pay extra. I was denied. Unlike my mother I walked out and went to another sandwich shop. I wrote them a letter explaining all this. No reply. They just dont care anymore. My grandfather, who used to play in the dirt lot, which is no pinnochios is rolling in his grave.

I LOVVVVVED it here!! In Seattle, most of our little Italian delis and Italian-American restaurants from days gone by are just that - gone by. So finding an old school Italian deli/food counter was such a treat! I had a good feeling about the place when I first got there - I just grabbed a Spumoni Gelato - very yummy. But as you walk around the Magnolia Blvd shopping district, you find out from people that Monte Carlo/Pinnocchios is a 2nd kitchen for many of them. This is down home Italian-American fare! Do NOT look for nouvelle prep here! Grab a tray, go around the steam trays and tell them what you want. The Eggplant Parm is just the way I remember it as a kid.

Had a long day at work and decided to treat myself to dinner. I was my first time here. I went to the counter to look at the wall menu. The person behind the counter ask me as I walked to look at the menu if I know what I want to order. I told him I was looking at the menu, he then answered "oh, youre one of those that never know what he wants"...I then I answered "this is my first time here"...he answered "so?" , I then walked out...place was dirty, bad customer service, anyone not caring about the customer will care even less how he prepares the food for them

I cant say Ive ordered much on the menu, but they make great pizza that I always order when given the chance. The restaurant portion acts essentially as a cafeteria line where you choose your food, pay, and find a table to be seated at and eat. Simple and no frills, but I prefer it that way and the prices are very good. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. Additionally, there is an attached Italian market with several hard to find items if need to find ingredients that might be hard to find elsewhere. Give it a try if youre in the area.

Ive been to Monte Carlos for take-out eggplant parmesan, baked ziti, meatballs, rigatoni, lasagna both meat and vegetarian and have never been disapointed by quality or portion or value. If you are an avg to large person the booths may be uncomfortable, and the point that tables are not cleared efficiently is fair. For takeout ..one of the best values in town. Not fancy, but a charming family restaurant and Italian neighborhood store. The gelato looks like its the bomb...trying that soon! I would give it a top rating for takeout.

Walk up to cases serving cold food another with hot dishes. Take your tray to fthe table of your choice. Upon the walls adorned with poster art of aircraft mfg by local ex giant Lockheed Aircraft Co as this decades old restaurant/Italian Groceries used to be packed with company lunch crowd, Good Tasty food without spending a fortune to eat good food. Litterally. My mom went here when she was pregnant with me along with the rest of my family. When I was little me and my friend even took off all the corks on the wall and for years it stayed that way. My Grandma knew the original owner. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I dont even eat meat and its still great. Ive hooked recruited many friends to eat at Pinocchios. Since they changed ownership prices have gone up a little..but the quality of the food has not changed. The sandwiches and lasagnas are well worth it!
