I had the pleasure of dining here for the first time without having any previous knowledge of the restaurant. My friends and I had a great experience and I definitely recommend dining here. We started our meal out with a few shared appetizers- the beets and burrata, the rice ball, and the ricotta crostini. The beets, tangerines and burrata was an indulgent, sweet and creamy treat. The rice was fun to eat- crunchy, saucy and full of flavor. We could not believe that something as simple as ricotta, parsely and olive oil spread over bread could be so incredibly delicious and it was promptly devoured. We ordered a few meals and shared them- the Cavatelli with mushrooms and broccoli rabe, the Lasagnette and the Branzino. The combination of fresh herbs and lemon over the branzino made for a light, fresh and tasty fish. The lasagnette with lamb was well done and the pasta noodles were fresh. The cavatelli was very flavorful and I enjoyed the broccoli rabe bits that were slightly charred. We ended the evening by over-indulging with a few desserts. Of course we had to order the Fluffernutter, and also ordered the chocolate panna cotta, the zeppole and oranges tossed with olive oil and sea salt. Our favorite turned out to be the zeppole and chocolate panna cotta, eaten together. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Fluffernutter but had a good deal left over as it was incredibly rich. The oranges were perfect in their simplicity. The sommelier (Caitlin?) picked a wonderful bottle of red for us, and our other waiter, a young, cheerful man were both wonderful and attentive with us. The service was great. The only reason I cannot give it a full five stars is due to the heavy hand with the salt, and I love salt. I dare say that half of the meals were on the very thin line of being over-salted and that isnt good. The cavatelli, the rice ball, and interestingly, the zeppole were the most pronounced dishes that had a heavy dose of salt thrown in. Needless to say we were all very thirsty a few hours afterwards.

If you like a noisy ambiance with so-so pasta at premium prices by all means go, otherwise you may want to look elsewhere. Note that I am not complaining about the prices per se - $200 for four people (3 appetizers, 3 pastas, 1 main, 3 cocktails) is not unreasonable for a good quality restaurant. However, in relation to the quality received this is a terrible deal. The cocktails were light on the alcohol, I guess $15 is the going rate for marginal drinks in LA so I will not harp too much on this. The squash blossoms and the rice ball were OK, the steak tartare passable. This is where the good news ends. All three pasta dishes varied between terrible (Creste Rigate and Cavatelli) and unremarkable (Rigatoni). The Whole Branzino had a steamed appearance, taste and texture. And the polenta was runny and soaked in some type of a cheezy sauce.

One of my worst experiences in Venice. I read the reviews and was really excited to go to this restaurant. I was really disappointed . The music was so loud that we could hardly have a conversation. Our request to lower the volume was ignored. We ordered a couple starters that were okayish. I had a seabass as a main course. When delivered to the table it had the smell of a raw fish and I was right. Raw on the bone and probably a week in the fridge before it was sent to my table. The pastas that my friends ordered were way too salty so that they gave up half way. In short, a bad and expensive experience; dont understand why it has good reviews. Will never go back to this place.

Why the hype? Mediocre taste, overpriced, spotty service, small portions, food being served at different times (no appetizers...just the main course), not hot....and orders getting messed up. The funniest part, no signage. Nada. After struggling to locate it in a rainstorm, we asked the hostess...uuum why?...."oh the owners like it that way". How cool...not. She actually copped an attitude eye roll when I said...."Well, I dont like it". Waste of money. Dumb idea. Go somewhere else. You can get similar drivel at the Olive Garden...for 1/4 of the price and not walk away pissed off and still hungry.

Expensive. Food was definitely good, but the prices really are borderline outrageous. Its a hip, trendy place near Venice, I get it, but I wont be going back. Definitely quite loud inside. Cocktails are overpriced and poured rigidly to measure. Valet parking is CRAZY expensive in the adjacent lot. Meter spots and residential streets are plentiful - use them. They know their audience - young, wealthy professionals in Venice and Santa Monica - and they bill accordingly. You can find better food and atmosphere for substantially less money in the area, though they do serve a culinary niche.

First time visit. Food is delicious! Desserts are excellent! Great atmosphere, awesome service! Entrees are expensive, other foods are a lil pricey, but worth it! Whenever we visit Cali again well definitely want to come back here to try some of the other dishes. My family & I shared our dishes and kale salad is delicious and so is the Rigatoni, the best polenta Ive tasted its so creamy, rice ball dish was ok. We had the ricotta cheese cake, Italian donuts nice and hot and the chocolate pinna cota, these were the best desserts Ive tasted! All the food was tasty and light.

I live very close & was hoping for a new hip restaurant w/ excellent cuisine. Was very disappointed with the menu as I have chefs in my family. Im not a red meat, duck or pork eater. Seafood, chicken breast...love it. They dont have grilled fish options & only 1 so-so chicken dish for $26. Menu in general is very overpriced for the quality of the food. Calamari was terrible. Squash blossoms were so greasy they were inedible. its a shame as decor is beautiful and the ambience, lively. Just not impressed with the menu choices in general.

70$ for a pasta special?! Seriously? I couldnt believe it... the waiter didnt even seem to think it was appropriate to mention the 70$ price tag for one plate when the rest of the menu averages around 15-30$. Had a word with the manager because I thought this was unfair. Apparently their business practice is to not tell the customer the price cause it will scare them off. Anyways he was good enough to knock off 30$ bucks of appetisers after a bit of push and pull but it definitely ruined what would of been a pleasant dinner.

Excellent food. Fresh ingredients. Cooked to perfection. Fresh made pastas. Highlights for us: Baby Beets with Burrata Vanilla Peaches, Fried Cauliflower with Lemon aioli, every pasta dish. The house Negroni is the best Negroni I ever had. Good wine & Spirit selection. The service is very friendly, attentive and quick. The place looks very nice. Best to order a bunch of dishes and share with friends. Dinner with drinks and tip adds up to about $100 per person. Not the cheapest but very much worth it.

Simply too expensive for what it is. Theres nothing special about the squid ink fried calamari aside from the breading being black. The shaved Brussels salad you can get at Whole Foods for a fraction of the coat. The squash blossoms were decent but what cheese stuffed thing isnt? The pasta was rich but the portion was meager. And the zeppole were... zeppole. Had the bramble cocktail. 75% ice, 20% berries, 5% actual drink. Glad I went just to feel the atmosphere but also glad I never have to go again.
