Authentic Italian food? Yes! Superlative service? Yes! Delicious selection of reasonably priced wines? Yes! Visiting with the chef/owner? Yes! Cozy atmosphere that recreates Italy? Yes! Making this our only "must do" (as NYC visitors) to the west coast each year? Yes! Its easy to overlook Baci, as it sits amid other businesses on a fast paced area of Beach Boulevard. However, the stop is worth it! From the crispy ciabatta (with an oozing interior) to the tangy virgin olive oil and biting pesto, you will promise- out loud- to return as soon as possible. During our second visit (as wonderful as the first, and one year later), we dined like royalty. The scampi carciofi (grilled shrimp w artichokes) left our palates satisfied, but wanting another thrill. Mozzarella with pepperoni (roasted peppers) gave our tastebuds a softened taste of buffalo cheese and infused garlic (peppers). My husband ordered filet with mushrooms and Gorgonzola. Oh my gosh! If only I could eat two entrees. He allowed me one bite... My entree was scallopine limone (veal scallopine with lemons and capers). I jealously guarded every bite. Zesty, sweet, savory. Our waiter seemed to appear every time we thought about a refill of bread, water, wine. He was not overbearing, but present just when we needed attention. Angelo, the owner, found time to visit with us and share some secrets. We will return again and again. I suggest you take the time to visit! In fact, take a taxi, so that you can dine and relax and NOT drive back home/to your hotel. Mille grazie!

Oh WOW! Nothing positive to say about the food, service, or staff. Let’s start with the greeting; walked into the restaurant to join a party that was already seated. A waitress greeted us with a cold shoulder, finally we mentioned we were joining a party she said and I quote “Get over there” and pointed. We just laughed and shrugged it off, we joined our party and had a combined group of 5. 20 minutes later our waiter introduced himself and took our drink order. We watched as what appeared to be a 15-16 year old waiter fumble the drinks to 2 different tables before getting the drinks to us. (actually quite comical) The poor kid looked like it was his first day. We ordered our meals and 1 hour later we receive 4 out of 5 meals all looked like the food was tossed onto the plates with disregard for any presentation concern (even my 12 year old made comment about his plate). 5-7 minutes later my Salmon order came out. Just from looking at it I can see that it was undercooked in what was soup on a plate. I cut into the Fish and it was RAW. At this point I was fed up and just sent the plate back and canceled my order. We received my bill and was told a 10% discount was given to us a compensation. I looked at the bill and my Salmon was on the ticket, I of course asked the waiter to please remove the Salmon from the bill and he obliged along with the 10% discount. We paid and left minus a TIP (ha ha a 20% discount). Long story short... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!

Today 11/19/11 arrived 6:40pm . Seated quickly, were brought drinks that belonged to table next to us. Sat for 20 min+ then orders were taken. 1.35 hours or food was brought out minus my plate. Food was poorly plated, others said food ranged from not good to worth the wait. My plate came out 10 min later. Salmon was raw, I asked waiter to take it back. He asked was it rare? I replied no it is raw! Offered me to reorder, no thanks. Bill came and he offered me 10% discount. My salmon was still on the bill. I told him to remove it from the bill as I was not going to pay for something that was not eatable. He came back with a bill said he removed the discount and my plate from bill. What a joke! Save yourself 2.5 hours and go to macaroni grill, olive garden, heck go to the food court at the mall you will get better service and better food. I do not recommend this place...

We reserved Bacis for a 50th year reunion last night. I chose the site primarily for its quiet atmosphere and friendly dealings with the management. Besides the atmosphere, all other aspect of the evening exceeded all my expectations. The professionalism of the service staff, the food and the quantity was all excellent. We started with a delicious variety of appetizers, drinks of our choice and were allowed ample time to reminise without the feeling of pressure to order our main courses. The specials were announced with a perfect Italian accent and when the food arrived it was more than ample and absolutely deliciously, all prepared in the traditionally Italian manner. Upon leaving the proprietor and several of the staff ushered us out with a handshake and a warmth that made me know that Id certainly be returning soon.

We LOVE THIS PLACE AND THE OWNER AND STAFF!! Angelo was clearly damned from birth to be a stunning chef, and his dishes are heaven!! Really, this is a passionate restaurant where the family and staff (even the excellent piano player, Ken, engage you like you are a FAVORITE uncle coming to their daughters wedding. Really. Dont be shy. Ask for recommendations on food, wine and dessert! Im not a piano bar person, but Ken is a crazy good musician, and has a sense of humor (in the music) to keep it joyous as well as classy... Pizza IS NOT ON THE MENU!! Think casual (?) 4 star by lake Como in the Alps on the Italian Swiss border, or urban delight in downtown Rome. Cheap by those standards! But its not cheap otherwise. Moderate price and extremely worth it!! Enjoy!

The food is verygood. I do not go out for Italian much as I am an Italian American and find most places are the equivalent of say El Torito vs. Real Mexican. Well Bacis is a close to REAL Italian as one gets in the OC. The Champange Salmon is to die for. THey do parties very well. 6 years ago I had my eldest daughters wedding reception here. Everyone loved it. My Aunts and Uncles have been talking about it since. Oh and the price was fantastic. The owner knows how to treat his guest....NOT like customers...like guests. Coffe is good and for a place of this size the bar is FANTASTIC!. The tender knows how to pour a drink.

This is an authentic Italian food gemstone! Great friendly home style home cooked food. This place makes "Olive Garden" seem like a Burger King of Italian food. Affordable. Delicious. You will enjoy your food while feeling at home with family. Hands down the best Italian food and environment outside of Italy itemself! Munga Munga !! Please note: Any negative comment regarding the quality of food or service was down right a personal problem or a rare fluke. By my second visit not only did the waiter know my name, but the owners did as well. Food quality has always been top notch.

One if the longest lasting Italian restaurants in HB. The reason why is Angelo Juliano. A lifetime of global experience brings his culinary expertise to his fine dining facility. I have been a faithful patron for well over 25 years. Fantastic cuisine. A little hectic on the busy nights but overall a phenomenal treat for your taste buds. Also some surprising musical talent graces Angelos stage on the lounge side of the building. From opera to blues to pop. You never know what you may find there. Alls I can say is Buon Appetite.
