Ive been going to La Scala for over 40 years...NEVER again! Our daughters meal was fine and mine was too, however, my wife ordered a chicken dish which was poorly prepared, flavorless, and simply not to her liking. Our waiter was a real pro -- he apologized and was totally professional. However, he did not have the authority to return the meal in exchange for another item on the menu. He said he had to speak with "the manager" -- a woman who I believe was an owner of the restaurant. With a tone and manner that was brusk and shockingly arrogant, she told my wife in no uncertain terms, that the dish was correctly prepared and that we would have to pay for it. No discussion, no appreciation for our (my) long time patronage. Her manner was so abrupt in fact that I actually lost my temper -- something people who know me will say is VERY rare. We paid the bill in full, left a 20% tip for the waiter and left the restaurant with all meals uneaten. As someone who dines in restaurants at least 4 times per week, I can honestly say that I have never experienced anything like the hostilty of this seriously delusional "manager". Shes selling spaghetti...not the cure for cancer! As it happens we simply walked to the restaurant next door and had basically the same meal we were going to have at La Scala. I asked the manager of that establishment if he knew the woman at La Scala. He just rolled his eyes. Really a shame -- La Scala was founded by a wonderful man named Jean Leon. I knew him. In fact, I went to school with his son. I went there after high-school graduation. Many happy memories. If you want to be treated like dirt, La Scala is a good pick. Otherwise, there are other wonderful restaurants in the Beverly Hills area where you will be treated with good cheer.

This place is famous and we were so excited to go. Especially for the chopped salad. Hmmm I dont even know where to start. I got a bad vibe right away when I was observing how the owner lady was treating her staff. Her attitude towards her staff was unacceptable. I felt so bad for the waiters. And, you better not want to make one change to your meal because you will pay big time. For example, I requested to replace a veggie on my salad and that was going to be 2$. Additions cost extra. And the salad is already over priced. My partner was not pleased with his wine, no problem "we will get you something new but you will pay full price for what you didnt like plus the next glass of wine". Where is the hospitality? You get the point. With all the competition for good food/ambiance/hospitality in LA, this would be the last place I would give my money to. Its sad because I heard the original owner was a good one. I dont recommend.

Went for lunch and was meeting a friend who was not there yet. I asked for an outside table, they are always available. The hostess asked how many guests and if we were all there. I explained that there would be two, but one was uncertain. She said I had three options: 1. Wait till my friend arrived. 2. Be seated and order for both of us. 3. Be seated and order for one; my guest would not be served if she arrived. I asked her to repeat it and she politely did, thinking nothing was out of order. Food is always good, but management has many weird policies, some of which I read before posting a review. I have been coming to LaScala forever, so I put up with their alienation simply because Im used to it and the food is consistently superb.

Whats good dam its ya boy Tedi Portugal here about to give Barton that Tedi P treatment.Yall probably here looking for some dank pasta post Lizzy and let me tell ya, you in luck boy. Barton got some of the best pasta Ive had. For real though, idk what they doing back in that kitchen but the joints are FIRE!Heres whats a bit whack tho... these folks make you get yo bum off your seat for everything. You gotta pay up front takeout style for all ya grub. Thats cool n all when you order that main pasta dish, but what if ya girl decides she wants some bread sticks mid meal? You gotta get yo butt up walk to the front and order her those bread sticks. And that aint cool.

NEVER order a group lunch order from here. They are incredibly rude on the phone, refuse to be helpful or label orders by name or even number, which is a basic courtesy. To top it off, they completely messed up the order. If I could leave a negative tip, I would. I am nothing but cordial when it comes to dealing with restaurants because I used to work in food service, but the woman "helping" me was completely unreasonable. I dont understand how a place can run like this in the lunch business of Beverly Hills. Our company will never order from there again.

The food looked and tasted like dog food and my daughter accidentally dropped her food by accident. The manager was extremely rude to me and my family after she refused to bring a replacement and left the food on the floor for over 30 minutes as a safety hazard. The manager even called the police on us, and they even agreed how crazy she was. NEVER COME HERE EXPECTING GOOD SERVICE!! If I could give it zero stars I would.

I would go everyday for the famous chopped salad (served with fabulous bread) but the poor attitude would make the original dedicated Italian owner roll over in his grave, or come up and chop heads. Weve had staff scrape chairs around us to get ready for closing when closing was hours away if there were not a lot of customers. It is so packed at lunch that youre lucky to get any service then at all.

A must go to Italian restaurant. The original chopped salad is delicious. I truly enjoyed the prosciutto e melone, brought back childhood memories. The decor is chic and yet welcoming. Eggplant parmigiano is delicious. Very lovely atmosphere, staff is courteous and professional. Pretty setting, romantic at night. Has good vibes and great place to people watch and enjoy Beverly Hills.

The WORST restaurant in BH. The attitude is just that........ATTITUDE for less than mediocre food. The salads are soggy, not fresh, the bolognase unacceptable and if they dont like you they put you on their "DO NOT SERVE" list. If they serve you a spoiled glass of wine, YOU WILL PAY. This place is NOT worthy of a Zagat rating at all. Why is this place still on Zagats....

This has been one of our favorite restaurants for many, many years. we always get the chopped salad. It is wonderful with the great bread they have. Nice ambience although it can get a little loud; during the lunch and dinner times. Good to make reservations during their busy times but not necessary if you are willing to wait a bit.

I love chopped salads and i needed to have a business lunch. Service was friendly and very efficient. I ordered a half order of the chicken chopped. I felt it needed more lettuce to chicken ratio, but it was good. I would go back if i was in the area. It was very loud inside too, difficult if meeting with a client.
