Watch out! This place is definitely shady and has terrible service. I can say that they have good food, there is no question there but every other detail about this place means that you need to STAY AWAY! We got there with reservations and stood around for 30 minutes before being seated. We then sat for 20 minutes before being greeted by our waiter. We then waited 10 minutes to get our waters & bread... just ridiculous! Not the worst part though. I was getting breakfast this morning on the same card which I use sparingly and got declined... which didnt make much sense considering I knew I had money on it. I check my bank statement only to find out that they charged the $80 for Dinner AND another $260 on top of that. When I called them they blamed me, accused me of this or that and blamed it on me 100% without saying sorry, admitting a mistake was made, etc etc. They said "well there is nothing we can do sir this is how it works we authorize for 25% of your bill" (Not sure how 25% of $80 makes $260 but hey... they hardly speak english so who knows maybe that is how math works wherever they are from). Extremely rude, not helping, and now I have to initiate a dispute with my bank. Its Saturday and they said "we will try to have someone call you on Tuesday." I have zero confidence that call will occur. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

At 3:15 PM, the hostess told my wife and I that the wait for a table would be about 25 minutes. Fine. Reasonable. Understandable. We then went to the bar to have a drink and talk of life. After 15 minutes I figured out that we were not going to get service in the lounge, so I went up to the bar and ordered our drinks. The busy bartender told me she would bring the drinks to us. She did. Fine. After 45 more minutes, I left the lounge and asked the hostess where we were on the waiting list. Instead of looking up my name, she said that she she was finishing seating persons with reservations and would work on the walk-in list in ten minutes. OK. She busy and harried. I went back to the lounge. We watched people who had come in after us get called for tables. The charm of the lounge had worn thin. I went back to the hostess to confirm that our name was on the list. She would not even give me the courtesy of looking at me as I talked with her, giving me the impression that I was unimportant to her and that she could care less if we stayed or left. We left. And we will never be back. We walked across the street to Louises and had a wonderful meal with excellent service. The hostess made the DMV look like a paragon of customer service. We had observed some decline in service at Mi Piace over time, but this was the last straw.

Terrible service and management at Mi Piace. First off the experience was the worst! I can get better service at McDonalds. My mother and I ate here and the waitress swatted a fly into her Pasta dish, she looked and said she was sorry but did not even ask if she would like replacement, then it almost lands into my plate. Second, the waitress never once came to check if we needed anything else or to refill our drinks. Third, when we paid it took 15 minutes for the waitress to bring back the change and then she did she just reached over and rudely handed it to my mom and walked away! My mother decided to call and speak to Judith the GM but not once did she call back, so I decided to call and did not receive a call either till I called and spoke to another Manager who had her FINALLY call me. Anyway, when Judith did call me back she seemed to be very concerned and found out who the server was, and then said she did not want to hear things like this happening to repeat customers and was going to mail that same day an apology and compensate us for another meal. Well a week later and still nothing! I sent her an email with no response and called again today with no call back. What a disappointment this has turned out to be! I will not be recommending this place to anyone ever again.....

Friday Night Lounge Review: I came to the lounge area tonight around 10pm. It wasnt too crowded, so I was able to grab a seat. Ive never been here on a Friday, so its all new! They had a DJ that played some house and techno beats, not too shabby especially when its all free! The crowd seems a bit older in here (40s and up tonight?). There were also duos of men in there that seemed like creepers to me. If they stared any longer, my girlfriends and I would have flipped them off :D I love their drinks in here, especially when my favorite bartender, Brian, is working! My favorite drink is their #1 Stolkholm Martini (Absolut Vodka, Champagne, Lime Juice, and Sugar rimmed glass), must try if you never did! My only complaint is that whenever Im served, the Martini glass always seems a bit sticky. Mi Piace was a nice place to end the night. We got to sit around the lounge area, chat, and dance if we wanted to without feeling claustrophobic. PS, I love coming here on Mondays because they have Happy Hour all night long at the lounge area! Youll have to try their calamari; their lemon sauce is to die for!!! Ive been eating those things for YEARS!!!

Mi Piace is a staple to Old Town Pasadena. I pass by often, and see people eating their lunch on the sidewalk. There are no lunch specials here. The interior is eerily white, as white as my marinara dotted white shirt (note - dont wear white). Looking around the patrons, I see the real housewives of Pasadena eating here, as well as other high-end shoppers. There wasnt a trace of the local lunch crowd here at all. So what am I doing here? Supposedly, Ive forgotten what a 25 dollar lunch tastes like. -=-Calamari e Gamberi FraDiavolo (Seafood Pasta)-=- Yes, its seafood so its going to be pricey. I didnt think it was 18 dollars worth of pasta though so do yourself a favor and dont get this. Usually pasta stuffs you, but even with all the complimentary bread, I still left unsatisfied. Calamari on my plate left much to be desired (quantity + taste), and the shrimps were a bit better, but ended fairly quickly. Marinara is probably the weakpoint here, so if you must pasta, get a white sauce. Happy Hour....all night on Monday. thats what this place is to me.

Mi piaces used to be delicious and classy. Ive went there twice in two weeks and both times were disastrous. The first time I ordered a breakfast omelette with sautéed Bell peppers and onions. The bell peppers and onions came out hard and my omelette came out cold. I ordered a mimosa and it was 1/4 champaign and 3/4 orange juice...the waiter said the manager poured it because they didnt have a bartender working. The second time I ordered a salmon with truffle sauce and asparagus. They shared with me that they ran out of salmon with truffle sauce and only had salmon with mango salsa, which was tasteless. And then the asparagus wasnt with the dry salmon and instead they had substituted my asparagus for bok choy....I was officially done. Plus there was a hair in my friends food. I dont know who management is but it needs to be evaluated. There is no reason why food should be this bad at a highly recommended restaurant. Its an embarrassment to Pasadena restaurants. Shouldnt even be on colorado. More like on Union st.
