Kopan Ramen has almost 1,700 reviews on Yelp with 4 stars rating. We were very much looking forward to try this place. Unfortunately, this ramen place didnt do it for us. It was Monday night, and the restaurant was completely full with tons of people waiting. The wait wasnt too bad since turn around time per table is pretty quick. We were seated in about 15 minutes. * Kopan Ramen with Chashu | $10 First you pick the size of the ramen. Small is $8, and regular is $10. Then you pick how spicy you want the broth to be. Next you choose the meat from 3 options: chashu, fatty pork or chicken. Finally you can add extra toppings for additional cost. We both got the regular size with spicy broth and chashu. The ramen came with green onion and seaweed. They didnt put the chashu on top of the ramen, but immersed it in the noodle. You get 2 thin slices with the order. It was tender and fatty. We liked the chashu. The noodle was thin and al dante. No complaint there, either. But the broth... It tastes ok initially. It was rich and creamy. Then the more you taste it, the more you feel theres lack of depth and true flavor. It feels like all the flavor comes from heavy salt, sugar, and MSG. We were both very very thirsty after eating the ramen. * Kopan Chashu | $2 * Red Ginger | $0.75 We ordered 2 extra toppings: Chashu and red ginger. For $2 extra, you get 3 extra pieces of chashu. * Sesame Chicken | $5 We also ordered a sesame chicken. The chicken pieces were tiny. It was like little cubes of dry chicken. It just didnt feel right. Its like they gave us all the leftover chicken scraps. We sent the sesame chicken back to the kitchen. The new plate was much better. But their sesame chicken was just ok. The best thing we had that night was Dr. Ps Saporo draft beer. We know a lot of people like Kopan Ramen, but its not for us.

The food is delicious. The broth is flavorful and in fact, this is what brings me back. The service? Not so great. I have called to order (more than once) and been left on hold and forgotten. Or the phone would ring 30times (yes i counted) before anyone picked up. The excuse I got was sorry, we were busy. Sorry isnt an excuse. If phone service wasnt important, why even have a phone line? The service isnt just exclusive to me. Other patrons have experienced it too. I have tried asking for the manager to complain but he always seems to be not there. Service is so iffy that I have to physically go in to order to make sure I do get service and the order is correct. Honestly, if the food wasnt that good, I would not come back.

I prefer this place to Whats Up Men actually (and its smack dab in the middle of DTF) However, it still doesnt compare to Santouka but for distance-sake, this is a great alternative. My order: - Tonkatsu - Mild - Chashu - Bamboo Shoots - Egg The broth was surprisingly rich, and the Chashu was super fatty :D They couldve given more bamboo though, but I can eat a whole pound of that....... Egg was a little runny. I prefer the egg to be right on the cusp of undercooked but not liquidy, and they didnt have it. Oh well, still good! The noodles were a little different than what Im used to but still delicious nonetheless. Check-in for a free soda! Yay close ramen place!

Choice: Very limited menu; overall nothing interesting to choose from. Taste: Broth was bland and not spicy (even tho thats what I ordered--and no, I dont have a crazy-high spice tolerance). PORK WAS COLD WHEN THEY BROUGHT IT OUT!!! Price: A bowl is averagely priced, but you dont get much. Appetizers were incredibly overpriced. Other: It took them waaaaaaaaaaaay too long to bring us the check. My friend and I were just sitting around (along with the table next to us) twirling our thumbs and looking around to see if they forgot about this section. Last word: Avoid.

Awesome deep fried appetizers! Their ramen is really tasty, and the broth is to die AND come back to life for! Overall, the atmosphere is very inviting. During the evening/ night, its rather upbeat and you may have to wait a while to be seated, but it is definitely worth the wait. However, if you just want a place to feed your inner weeaboo, you should visit during the early afternoon as it is calmer. Also, ( lets face it ) manga and ramen is a match made in heaven, and this is a great place to experience both.

This place is always packed, but for a reason. The food is delicious! I definitely recommend getting the shrimp tempura as an appetizer. The dipping sauce is amazing. They recently started offering hello kitty pastries, but I didnt get to try them. Hopefully next visit Ill have more time and appetite. The last time I was there with my girlfriends and I think our waiters name was Andre. ... something with an "A" for sure. He was super attentive and fast. Definitely reccomend this ramen restaurant.

This is my second favorite ramen shop in OC. I love the broth here, you can choose the level of spicy that you want too which is great for me since I like a good kick. Since I have tried Kitakata Ramen in BP, I would say that the noodles here are not as great as I would like them to be. If I were to take the Kitakata Ramen noodles and Kopan broth and combine it, it would be the perfect ramen. Regardless I love this place, they try to sit you as soon as possible even if there is a long wait.

I had a great experience here. Im a vegetarian and its hard to find ramen places that Dont have animal based broth. It was hands down the best Ramen I had. My friends who accompanied also enjoyed their meals. I like that they have additional toppings you can order to add to your Ramon. And, the sides are enough for more than one person so you can split them. I liked the decor and the employees were very friendly. Overall, I will be back in the future when I get an itching for Ramon.

Ok . The food was delicious. And the staff was ok a little more concerned with there own conversation then with the guests, but still done and. I only got a water to drink and it tastes like it came from a hose in the back. One word guys "filter". My big complaint is the bill. The price was fine but they have listed recommend tips. Staring at 18 precent including the tax. The food is great the service is just ok. So that takes some balls. Shame on you kopan.

Came to this place due to its high rating on yelp and because its one of the few ramen places near California state Fullerton. The soup is really good and the chasu pork meat is very flavorful. The only down side to the ramen is the noodles for me because it felt too on the uncook side. Other than that the experience was good. The parking around the store is difficult so come during non peak hours because the area is lit around nights and weekends.

This is one of my favorite Ramen places. I must admit, my favorite ramen house is in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, but this is a close 2nd. Ive tried so many other places in Orange County, and Ive been severely disappointed. It was really nice to be able to finally find a place that has a ramen soup that I really enjoy. Also, since my spouse is a vegetarian, its nice that they have a vegetarian ramen option. I definitely reccommend this place!
