Happy garden has long been our favorite for chinese in the santa Cruz - Watsonville area. Some time in the last year (I think) they got new owners and the food is EVEN BETTER. The sauces they use give everything we have tried fantastic flavor amd the portions are all generous . The service has always been prompt, freindly and accurate. Every time we end up going to a different chinese restaurant (only if we are not close buy) we are always dissapointed - the flavors just do not come close. If I had to come up with a negative the only one I have is that they keep the restaurant to cold - we always have to keep our jackets on which takes away from the pleasure but is a worthwhile sacrafice to get such delicious food.

They claim they deliver but when I asked they said I didnt order enough. I had only the chance to tell him 1 item before he was already telling me "not enough" I wasnt done and I said another item to add he said NOT ENOUGH". OK I am not done how about I finish my order and then you tell me if its enough. No? OK then forget you and your attitude. After the third time I got the hint they do not deliver. Further more they have no online presence nor an actual full menu anywhere. Zero social skills and as far as I am concerned will never get my business. Happy garden? Sour patch more like it.

Im a lil picky w/ restaurants & when i find one i really like, i tend to not veer off to another. I had a co-worker talk about Happy Garden & had rave reviews so... i thought Id give it a shot. With much surprise i loved it!!!! The Won Ton soup was great! Very filling & great flavor! I had a little of my daughters meal (beef & broccoli & chicken fried rice.. pretty basic) but again very flavorful...

If you dont feel you got the customer service you deserved and decide to not tip, oh lord be ready, they turn their whole demeanor around. The look on there faces changes, their tone changes, and suddenly they start speaking their language right in front of you with other employees.

Best chinese food in Watsonville area. We moved from San Jose and had completely written of getting decent Chinese food in the area. Its not the greatest, but for the area quite legit.

This place is super good. The hot and sour soup is so good. Also the kung pao shrimp and chicken and you cant forget the chow mein. Good portions,friendly service and good prices.
