Pretty much the best Tex Mex on the Eastside. Its also the best restaurant in Carnation. Been going here monthly+ for over 20 years. Ive never had bad food, service or drinks here, ever. Cheesy, Delicious, Goodness. Ive never gone away hungry, ever. Rarely have I even finished one of their combos -- pretty much guaranteed to have tasty leftovers. Try their "Tres Cunados" (aka Mexican Flag) if you like Chile Verde, Chile Colorado, and Chile Relleno with Monterey Jack cheese. A long, long time ago I used to like the original Las Margaritas on Rose Hill, but Ixtapa is King now. My favorite combo is two enchiladas, one chicken, one ground beef, all rice, no beans, extra sauce on the rice. Mmmmmmm.... The only bad part is that youll pig out :)

Ive had really good Mexican food and Ive had poor Mexican food this restaurant is at the very poor end. Chips are pressed formed baked not real tortilla chips. The chili verde was tasteless the chili colorado was a tomato-based sauce. Chile relleno was God awful Im not sure how to really describe it. Beans were tastless,probably the low fat canned variety.The salsa though was out standing.

Super amazingly delicious food- I got the enchiladas a la crema and I swear that cheese sauce was ambrosia or something, it was on another plane of existence. The service was amazing as well, the waiter was very nice and we got our food quickly, but with enough time to actually eat the appetizer before our entrees came.

Some things on the menu are good, but others not. I ordered Chile Rellenos yesterday and it was basically a cheese and egg burrito with a flavorless canned pepper tucked in. The staff are wonderful. Will go back and order something else!

Great food and absolutely fantastic service. We called ahead for a party of 20 and they were totally accommodating, including splitting the check 8 ways. Handled special dietary requests with ease. Drinks were good too!

Excellent food, good portion sizes. The carne asada is simply amazing. Service can be hit or miss, the guys are far more attentive than the female servers. The food is always five star, no matter.

Ixtapa single handedly made all other Mexican food Ive ever had seem worthless. Huge portions, fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, and tomatoes came with our meals. Fantastic margaritas too!

We love this place and frequent here often. Try one of their burritos, they are massive. We usually end up share a burrito with a side of rice and beans. Delicious!
