Pretty disappointing experience. I always loved this place especially for the clams. Went there for a quick dinner with my mother and sister recently. My prawns were great and my mom ordered a lightly breaded halibut seasoned heavily with spices. We were not certain that the fish had bread on it so we checked, due to the fact that I have celiac. Our waitress reassuringly says, "oh, no it isnt breaded, just seasoned with herbs and spices!" So, I proceed to try the fish and right after I do so she returns to say she checked with the kitchen and that the fish is in fact breaded! I am still sick a week later and that isnt even the start of it. I just hope they pick up better and more aware service as Ive heard three similar situations to mine. Not enough precautions are taken and customer satisfaction has not been met. I do not feel comfortable returning.

My go-to Eureka lunch place. Skip the regular menu, quite staid, and look up at the chalkboard for the real stuff. I always get one of the daily special fish dishes which comes with a salad and fresh bread, which you can decline and be diet-safe. Healthy, tasty, always fresh. Fun old atmospheric restaurant with friendly service and a "neighborhood bar" as well. Afterward you can stroll around Old Town or take a breezy walk along the water. (I dont know what the guy was talking about who mentioned "scary area.") I like to walk around the corner to the chocolate shop and get some dark chocolate dipped ginger or candied orange peels for dessert, and go nibble it on the dock.

This place is legit!!! As a chef myself, its rare for me to find a place that gets me this excited. The fresh seafood... The vegetable.... The bread... All the way down to the herb butter!!! They take pride in the food that comes out of this kitchen!!!! We had the crab linguine and I had 3 oyster shooters.... Then I order 3 more! The beer battered calamari was cooked to perfection! You have to eat at this restaurant if you come to Eureka!! And the staff was great!!! Always sming!!! I couldnt see the specials board so what did our waitress do??? She took it off the wall and brought it to us. Great place!!!! 10 stars!!!!!

This place was so fantastic!!! Everything my friends and I ordered was jaw dropping amazing. Crab cocktail fish n chips snapper crab cakes shrimp scampi was all so delicious. We also got dessert just to try it bc ebrything else was so great...and low and behold even the dessert was perfection. Def worth the price ...finding good seafood isnt always easy so this is my fave place so far. Cant wait to go again!!! Even the staff was smiley and kind. 20 stars if I could.

While the service was adequate the meal we recently got there was simply wonderful. Took my friends there from out of town, since they wanted a drink and sea food. We ordered the special fectacinni with sea food, it was so delicious that we were soping up the sauce with bread at the end. I have not always had consistent luck at waterfront, but i was extremely happy that this time the food was beyond delicious!

Great shrimp. Excellent oysters. Enjoyed this meal very much. Found it while in town visiting the area on our honeymoon. We are glad we happened upon it. The seafood really is out of this world. However, I did not enjoy the crab cakes one bit. If I could do one thing over, I would not have ordered them. They were overcooked and rubbery. Not enjoyable. Other than that, all was excellent.

One of my favorite places to eat when in Eureka. The food is always on point and fresh. The staff is very welcoming and friendly they make you feel like youre family. Joe the bartender is a great guy and always has a smile on his face, Bobby the bartender is also very friendly and great to talk to and Ben is so cool and very friendly we always look forward to seeking them and the wait staff.

One of the under the radar gems of Eureka. The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection and the spices used for grilling were phenomenal! Must say this was one of the best steaks we have experienced in Humboldt County. We also had the seafood pasta that was so delicious. The window seats toward the Eureka bay were wonderful to watch the world go by. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Nothing was professionally prepared. The coconut shrimp appetizer was bland without a shred of coconut. It was squirmy. We asked the waitress what the signiture dish was and she referred to the specials board. Her suggestion was awful. The crab fettuccine was over done, over salted and inedible. The bread with the herb butter was delicious.

Service was okay, food however was poor at best. My wife had their fish and chips, I had the fried oysters...the food might have been better if they actually had a cook who knows when the fry oil needs changing. My wife believes she got food poisoning from the establishment. I will not and do not recommend this cafe to anyone.

Out of clams after we ordered. Service was rushed, guess we were seated thirty minutes before closing. Waitress didnt pour wine or bring water to the table. Forgot utensils for second course. Plates small (barren really) and pricey. Poor service and kitchen staff was clearly heard yelling during entire meal.

Service was prompt and courteous. Serious concerns about the consistency of food though. My partners waffle was so crisp it was flaking off as he tried to cut it. My larger home fries were raw on the inside. I know that they put out good food but there are evidently better things to order on the menu.

AWFUL!!!!! If youre looking for terrible service and mediocre food than look no further. Dont mind the tornado of circling flys in the dining room because they leave the doors open We should have walked out with the service we were given, I suggest going elsewhere because this isnt an option

Love Cafe Waterfront! The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. Great service in a victorian building near the waterfront. Wide variety of menu items, as well as specials posted daily. Fresh fruit is offered as a side, (and always delicious) for a minimal upcharge.

Food was great! The staff was less than organized which detracted slightly from the wonderful food. In the longrun, it was well worth it. I would low to spend an hour with the manager. Thats all it would take to fix the organization problems! Would go again in a heartbeat!

The clam chowder was very good. Wish we could say something good about our entrées. The fried seafood only tasted like the breading and my salmon was the worst fresh fish I have ever had. In fact I am hoping it doesnt make me ill. Too bad because it is a beautiful place.

Had the bay shrimp, scallop, tomato, dill, & cheese scramble special for breakfast. Came with a fluffy walnut oat muffin, toast, & Orange slices. Was not disappointed, definitely left with a full & happy stomach. Great service & happy chats. Great way to start the day.

The lunch menu has lots of choices. My husband ordered a burger and said it was one if the best hed eaten recently. They also offer many sandwiches, salads, and of course seafood dishes. Plus there is a bar and you can have a cocktail if youre in the mood for one.
