Stay away!!!!!! I have never been disrespected like this before!!!!! I would give 0 stars if I could!!!! Rude rude rude staff and THE OWNER does have no manner or respect for her customers. She specifically said she doesnt give a D*** about Yelp reviews!!!!! Ok so the singer was a lovely friend of mine, and her show was awesome. Though this place is a mess! It says on the ticket first come first serve. So we came at 5:45 staying in the line, They opened the doors at 6:30. There were plenty of tables in front. They set us all the way in the back of the restaurant. We asked if we can sit in front (since we waited 45 min behind doors to get a better table) and another staff set us on a table in front, and the waiter took our order. Then another staff came and said you cant sit here cause you are 7 people (we had two tables), the waiter said I set them here and the order is on the way, so they were arguing and yelling in front us with dos shame!!!! Then the owner (Catalina) came and started to yell at us; "why did you change your table, we set you in another table"!!!!!!!!! (No honey we werent happy with our table so your own staff moved us here!) We were shocked! I told her to not be rude, and lower her voice other vice we wont move to another table. She PUSHED THE TABLE AWAY FROM US, and yelled;"Do you understand??? THIS IS MY HOUSE I TELL YOU WHERE TO SIT!!" I told her this is United State! She cant treat customers like that and push tables and yell!!!!! I asked for the manager and surprise surprise! she said I AM THE OWNER!!!!! I said no way! I can write a review on Yelp for you and tell every body how you disrespected us, and she said " I dont give a D*** about reviews or Yelp. At this point I walked out of the bar. They moved my friends to the other table and since I was there to support my friends show I got back in after half an hour. No surprise the food was awful and pricy! If you go there expect a whole lot of yelling and disrespect cause they even talk to each other like that let along customers!

If I could give this place a zero, I would. The owner made extremely RACIST, rude and obnoxious comments. She made a spectacle in the middle of the restaurant. It also appears her employees are afraid of her. One of the employees/manager apparently made a mistake and started seating our group while she was checking us in. She rushed from the entrance to the table and started a screaming attack at our group. She started screaming at us that we were setting up the table ourselves. Her own employee told our group to go forward and was setting our table. We tried to explain to her that her employee told us to move forward because the door was so overcrowded, people were pushing to move forward. She was screaming that she has rules and we didnt follow them. Rules arent posted. How is anyone supposed to know her supposed rules? If a mistake was made, she could have acknowledged it and explained it. I asked the employee to explain to her the situation but he started mumbling. He said shes not his wife, he cant talk to her. Weird!? He looked scared of her. He said shes been having seating problems. Well its not the customers fault her establishment seams to be disorganized and mismanaged. Someone in our party said her attitude and rudeness is going to be written online and that really set her off. To make things worse, she started saying very racist comments. Her racist rant went on for awhile. We were targeted and discriminated. What is wrong with this person? What an embarrassment! I love jazz and we waited over 2 hours to see the band but I cant deal with crazy. If an owner of the place cannot talk to customers or manage her employees, why is she in the restaurant business? She instigated the whole scene with her rudeness and lack of customer service. I have never been exposed to so much hate in my life.

NEVER AGAIN. First of all, this review is not pointed at the artist that played the venue, Barbara Morrison. Barbara gave a great show. This review is wholly pointed at the Catalina Bar & Grill manager and owner. If I could give minus stars, I would. My wife and I had dinner there tonight. The food was very much over-priced and Ive had better in public-school cafeterias. I ordered the salmon which seemed previously frozen, wasnt firm, was oily and didnt have any taste. When I asked that the entree be replaced with a different dish, both the manager and the owner came out to find out why. When I restated my complaint, the manager and owner both told me the salmon was great, other customers love it and I was wrong. Incredibly, I had a ten-minute discussion with the owner about the salmon at the table. The owner contended the entire time that I was at fault and the meal was fine. The owner also stated that if she replaced my entree, shed have to do it for others. The owner didnt mind ruining my wifes and my dining experience nor ruining the evening of the other diners around us that had to endure the owners long-winded, asinine rationalizations. I still offered to still pay but wanted to have a different entree. In a purely punitive move, the owner credited me the salmon meal but refused to allow me to order another entre. I was essentially punished and forced to go hungry for complaining about an unacceptable dish. Ive never been treated with such disdain and disrespect in my life. I will never, ever go to Catalina Bar & Grill again. And Id advise anyone reading this review to avoid the place like the plague.

.I saw Monty Alexander here on June 9, 2017. I enjoyed his performance. He started with a trio and brought in some Jamaican (his birthplace) musicians to finish the set. I was pretty disappointed with the service, however. There is a 2 drink minimum or dinner requirement. Having eaten within the last 2 hours, I wasnt hungry so decided I would get 2 glasses of wine. When the server took my drink order, he asked if I was going to order anything to eat and I said I would get another glass of wine later. About 70 minutes after the show began, the server didnt bring me the second glass of wine or ask if I wanted something else. He just brought the check which also had a minimum fee tacked on. Apparently the minimum requirement is $18 and I had only had $11 worth of wine. I thought the server brought the check then because the show must be ending soon, but Monty played for almost 2 hours. I enjoy the acts I see here but the minimum requirement is a bit Draconian. I once had 2 ice teas that cost $18. The point is you might as well order food and get something decent for the money. The server actually cheated himself out of a bigger tip because I tipped only on the one glass of wine instead of the whole bill. The Baked Potato also has a 2 drink minimum but you can order tea for $5. There the drinks are properly priced but dinner does not count towards the minimum.
