I live two blocks from this restaurant, and really really wanted to like it because its very cute and its in walking distance. But the 3 times weve been (in 2 years), weve had atrocious, rude service. Two stories: 1. Once time, I ordered the eggs benedict, which comes with a choice of "Canadian bacon, spinach, or salmon." The waitress kept insisting that Canadian bacon came automatically, and the only choice was between "spinach or salmon" (in addition to the bacon). Of course this makes no sense because something with salmon AND Canadian bacon would be freaky. We argued back and forth, eventually I caved in and ordered spinach. And yes it arrived without Canadian bacon. 2. Another time, we walked in and asked -- without looking at the to-go menu -- if they had yogurt. Instead of telling us "yes, we have a bowl of yogurt that comes with fresh fruit or granola" she said if we wanted a yogurt, we should go to the mini mart 2 doors down and that she wasnt a grocery store. The really infuriating thing is that theres a language barrier, so she thinks Im a fool. (Maybe I am, but even a fool deserves better.)

For a Saturday at brunch time, the wait was luckily very short. Arrived around noon; we were seated and ordering within 20 minutes. The cafe is cozy, inviting, and warm with ample seating inside and out on the patio with live music in the corner. Their menu covers all the bases in terms of classic french cafe fare but i can only speak for the quiche du jour. It was sun-dried tomatoes asparagus, onion, and chorizo. Absolutely delicious! The texture was creamy, not that overcooked rubbery texture you find in shoddily made quiche. Portions were very large so you definitely will not leave hungry, and you are sure to come again for more. Looking forward to making this a regular spot.

Informal little bistro with very good food, Ive been there about eight times over three months, trying to have something different each time, and all good to great. The quiche is seriously good, but I logged on today to recommend the chocolate tarte - if Michelin ever decides to give a star to places in the $12 lunch category, this tarte is going to be a featured reason! OK, with dessert and iced tea youre going to pop $20, but even so. Not the fanciest place in town, but everyone who discovers it comes back with a smug look on their faces.

A classic french bistro menu, with omelettes, quiche, and crepes for breakfast, salads and sandwiches for lunch. The brunch menu runs heavy, with cream, eggs, and cheese bubbling from every gooey orifice. While the food is all fine, its a bit much for the ol arteries. Service is friendly, though theres still a touch of that French timing that can stretch a meal. Not your worst option if you want a killer, in more ways than one, omelette. Parking is easy, with a small lot and the nearby streets.

I finally got to check out this restaurant for lunch today. What I wanted to order: Nutella Crepes and Butter, Swiss, and Ham sandwich. Instead I ordered a very nice mango/avocado, strawberry salad with chicken. I cant eat arugula so the waitress was kind enough to suggest she put it on spinach for me. They came out with bread and olive tapenade to start but we were being healthy so sent it back. It looked DELICIOUS.

Dropped in for some French onion soup... after having to check the menu, the gentleman told me they didnt have that. Not that they werent serving it today but that they didnt have it period. Huh? A French cafe with no French onion soup? Am I crazy? I had read they did have it but on the menu (which doesnt work on their website) all it says is "Several Selections-Ask your Server." It seems like a cute place... oh well.

I called in to order a breakfast sandwich, they were out--but we created a new sandwich! The girl on the phone recommended we use a cheddar/maple bacon scone instead of the biscuit. Holy smokes! I have dreams of this sandwich: crispy, sweet bacon, lots of cheese, I get the egg over med-well, some sort of seasoned tomato, arugula, sauce... And deadly. Oh please do yourself a favor and order the "mac" special.

That red building that I always drove by turns out to be a great spot for brunch. Dont fill yourself up on the complementary bread (as good as it is). The pancakes were simple yet delicious, the bacon crispy, and the fresh squeeze orange juice refreshing. The patio seating outdoor is cute, but there can be a longer wait time for it. Ill be back here to try out some of the other items.

The omelets are delicious but they ridiculous with pricing. I asked to order crepe as a side item (plain) I was told I would need to pay $6.00 because they are not accustom to selling them plain. $6.00 for ONE CREPE really I would rather call my grandmother from her grave in France to cook for me. I guess I will continue to buy the omelets and find another way to get crepes.

This French Bistro can be easily missed when you are driving down Overland. It is caddy corner to the park. The owners and staff all have a cute French accent when they serve you. They offer a nice medium roast coffee and I really enjoy their eggs benny i.e. Les Oeufs Benedicte. Also a plus is how easy it is to find parking by the restaurant.

Our favorite neighborhood location for breakfast, weekend brunch, and business or social lunch. Great ambiance, good menu and food, and friendly, professional service. Easy parking on streets except on Sunday mornings but it just means parking a little further away; its a great walk so not really a problem.

So delicious!!! I had the eggs Benedict with spinach. It was perfect. The restaurant itself is a little cramped with small space and lots of tables. To get to the bathroom you have to go outside and around back to the building. But, all of this is made up with their delicious menu and BYOB standards.

Eh...its ok. The food is nothing special. Why do I feel like Im transported to Wisconsin when I come here and that people stare at anyone who isnt White? The tables are really squeezed together and anywhere you sit makes you feel like people are in your personal space. Its very uncomfortable here.

Very good . This place is always probably a bit too crowded for its own good so they were rushed. My usually top-notch French toast was okay I think it was under done compared to usually perfect that Ive had many times in the past. but one of the neatest places and best values on the Westside.

Been going here for 10+ years. Always great food, atmosphere and service. Know that youre going to have a nice long intimate dinner here. Get a glass of wine from their great list or even one of their french golden ales and relax and enjoy. Park on the street keep in mind youre in Eagle Rock.

I arrived at the restaurant at 11:30am and there was a 20 minute wait, but the food was well worth it. The were plenty of options, and you can BYOB for mimosas. I ordered the Fancy Brunch, was was delicious. Seriously, some of the best french toast Ive ever had. I would definitely come back.

I have been going to Cafe Laurent for over 10 years, it has always been consistent and good. The food is always cooked to perfection and the potatos have always been one of my favorites. I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get a seat. the prices are right on mark for the area.
