Okay, Let me delineate what partook while my time in the Farmers Market. One of my friends actually came here to speak with the business owner. Were students from UCLA. The business owner, Katy is perhaps one of the most rude business owners Ive ever seen. I was watching my friend, lets call her Mei as she wants to not be identified, from far away. Katy spoke with her on the phone, and told her to meet with her husband, Stephane as she would be too busy to meet with her. When Mei arrived on time to meet with Stephane, he was in a meeting with someone else. He asked her to come over to meet with her, to shadow his current meeting so hopefully she learns something. Katy abruptly told her to step away after she was invited to the table, stating that "this has nothing to do with her as shes here to sell insurance". While we are business interns at an insurance company, it has nothing to do with what we were there for as our first meeting is to understand the business to even know if they need what our company offered. Katy then rolled her eyes, and told my friend to stand in the corner of the bistro to wait for "five minutes", but clearly since their previous meeting ran until 11:25 A.M. and her meeting was 11, you can imagine how much longer it was going to take. It was absolutely unheard of. My friend then stood up, extended her arm and introduced herself at this point and stated she didnt appreciate the way she was treated. After all, she is no five year old and doesnt deserve to be treated as a doormat to a business owner that thinks she owns the place. Mei had spoke with Rick whom is the GM to explain the situation, from where she learned that the person who told her to stand in the corner is Katy herself. I dont know about you, but being pointed to standing in an isolated corner of a shop doesnt sound like a business meeting, or how anyone should be treated. Katy then had her employees escort my friend out of the farmers market, to which we walked right in and filed a report. Public humiliation and bullying, much? Not what i expected from a 60 year old granny. Maybe Katy here was just a bit depressed her husband couldnt pay attention to her and took it out my friend. What the hell. Business owners thinking they own everything, including people.

There are so many different places to eat at the Farmers Market and Monsieur Marcel is definitely a gem. It is an outdoor eating area that was designed to be as cozy as possible. Perfect for spring and summer dinners but also cozy during Calis autumn and winter. Ive been here a handful of times, and already I have found a couple of favorites. This made me not venture off too far on the menu, though my favorites keep me coming back. - the merguez frites : Lamb with harissa sauce and sweet onions in a baguette. It is mildly spicy and the fries a shoestring, crisp and seasoned - chevre chaud - warm cheese over crostini?! I no longer want croutons any more! - normandie- the most delicious guilty pleasure sandwich out there- melted brie with apple bacon and apricot marmalade. This has to be my favorite so far here. - escargots - super buttery and garlic-y... ask them to pair the right wine with it. I will continue to update this review as I try new dishes.

This is a lovely place to come with not a lot of friends, I would say max 4 and thats pushing it. The seating area is very tiny and its limited. With people walking around the farmers market. If its a busy day, it will be tight Its defiantly not cheap, I recommend buying a bottle and some apps. Last time we came we squeezed in 6 people and ordered all kinds of goodies. The cheese and meat plates were delicious. I love cheese. I like the build your own option. Escargot, you name it. All amazing. Service is good. Sometimes very friendly and attentive, sometimes a little less, but never rude or anything. Cant go wrong with the classic French onion, not salty. Perfect. Cheeseeeeeey The fondue is always a good idea with a tiny group. $36 I think Parking sux clearly. You gotta park at the grove or the parking lot, I believe they validate a certain amount of time. Its usually a good random place if we are walking around the grove or the market.

They need to stop buying fake reviews. Whenever you go into a business, look at the number of negative reviews before the positive ones. Also 526 reviews, with 527 photos on Yelp just doesnt sound fishy to me, doesnt it? And only 37 reviews on Google+. Well, 38 after I write mine. Ill give them the fact that they buy expensive items and market it to twice its price. Thats fine. Theyre a middle man. Whats not okay is forcing me to tip 20% when I am not okay with your service, and for you to discriminate my wife. I dont know what sort of business runs on the success of telling their consumers what to do. That clearly proves that the owners have an insouciant character flaw, and thinks everyone needs to bow down to her.

Love this place. Authentic French food (or used to be) at a reasonable price (overpriced now actually) in a Farmers market environment. What more could you ask for. Unique eating experience. UPDATE: Up during the night... No sleep. All day feeling terrible... In and out of the bathroom. I ate the filet mignon which tasted great. No signs of any issue or hints of bad meat. Have no comment... Other than I had breakfast cereal and melon in the morning and skipped lunch so there is NO way it was anything other than what I ate at this restaurant. I will never go back. I have re-rated my review to 1 star as a result.

The food is good, French tapas style. Youll find some nice French food and desserts. Attached is also a nice little French market where you can find a multitude of items, French or not. The food itself is okay, perhaps its not designed for my palette. It isnt overly flavorful, and youll find yourself still hungry after a couple of little plates. But then again, French food isnt meant to be large lavish meals like Italian eateries.

Food is great. went here for wine tasting received a $15 gift card however since I didnt use it during the time I decided to try to use it the following week and was told there was a zero balance. I asked to speak to a manager gave the cashier my information they assured me that a manager was going to call me back the following day and I never received a call back. needless to say customer service thats a one-star

Without fail, I forgot to post pictures of my meal. I had the boeuf burgenone, my daughter had the roast chicken, my son had the custom cheese plate while my husband had the Marquez plate. We scarfed it down and our dining friend at the bar had the ravioli with saffron sauce. I cant think of anything bad to say. However, the wines that came with the cheese plates were only ok, not great, not bad.

Our first trip to the place and it has great food and very nice service. Crusted salmon was some of the best Ive tasted. I didnt realize they added 18% to the bill so I added a 20% tip so a $135.00 bill ended up with a $48.32 tip. Always hand your check to your wife to review, I guess. Gonzalo had a great day. I wonder how often this happens. William Moodie, Costa Mesa
