Im surprised La Vie doesnt have a higher rating as the food is superb! Although the rundown lot that it resides on is misleading, La Vie, a Vietnamese-owned French restaurant, is quite the hidden gem. As I walked in, I noticed a tank of Koi fish and pink table cloths, which hinted to me that the owners werent French. The decor could be considered tacky but I found it to be quite kitschy! After being seated, I chit chatted with a neighboring customer who informed me that the owner, after leaving Vietnam, lived in France for a couple of years where he picked up his culinary skills. Before ordering, we were served bread (basically banh mi you can get at Lees Sandwich). My friend and I ordered the Escargot to share. I ordered the Roast Rack of Lamb with Garlic Crust and my friend ordered the Sea Scallops and Prawns in Lobster Sauce. These both come with soup, salad and coffee. I was honestly extremely skeptical about La Vie since the exterior doesnt exactly exude fine dining but the food was unexpectedly amazing! Although I cant attest to knowing a whole lot about authentic French cuisine, I really enjoyed the meal nonetheless. The escargot was okay; a little too salty in my opinion. The lamb was extremely tender. I also really liked the butternut squash puree.

It is a worth it French place. Food is perfect portion. I ordered pâté, escargot for appetizers. Both go great with the bread they come with. Then for main dishes, we ordered duck, rabbit and lamb chop. All were very delicious. Tomato basil soup was fresh and from scratch. Complementary salad was ok, I am not a big fan of it. Highly recommended this place when you want French but you dont want to damage your bank too much. Plus, it is a very cute and romantic place for first dates.

We vacationed in Paris for twelve days and nights....and I have to say this restaurant just did it better than a couple of the restaurants we ate at. The timing of the meals. The customer service was excellent. The tenderness of the meat was really great. The price is awesome. For the price of a dinner entree you get the bread soup salad and meal with coffee. The soufflé is superb

Excellent food. If youre thinking of having the souffle for dessert, remember to order it with your entree, it takes them 20-30 minutes to cook. And its worth it.
