December 10, 2016: Cafe Jardin Probably one of the worst and very very overpriced restaurants I have eaten at over the last 70+ years. Was charged $108 for 2 dinners and 2 glasses of cheap wine. Dinner Menu: 1st Course: I order the Wild Boar for an appetizer. Tasted like liverwurst like I had back in the 40s. Nothing of a pork nature. Ordered Beef Bourguignon for 2nd Course. Tasted somewhat like Beef Stew instead of a fancy french dish. 3rd Course: A really good type of Strawberry tart. Our server :"Antonio" was very attentive and certainly much better than the meal that we experienced at Cafe Jardin. Probably would not go back again under any circumstances. Should have gone to 5 Crowns other high end restaurants in Newport Beach.

A group of 8 of us went to Le Jardin for lunch today. We had reserved a group quiche lunch priced at $20.50 including tax and gratuity on their website. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. Cold coffee, nobody available to move an umbrella for us. When the check came, they had charged us $7 more per person than advertised on their site. I refused to pay the extra $60. the manager came over and said the web site hadnt been updated for years. I didnt feel this was my problem and still refused to pay the extra. When he realized I was adamant, he brought a new check for the correct amount, loudly accusing me of stealing money from him. Needless to say, we wont be back.

Always great, but I should say it is terrible because they are always too busy and I have to wait and wait. After many years of dining here, I can honestly say that I have never had anything but a wonderful meal here.This feels so much like dining in Paris and it is my favorite French restaurant in all of CA. The servers have remained and it really is terrific to see familiar faces at places where you dine.

This is my first time writing a review for a restaurant, but I felt like I had to say something only because this place is so bad. Its outragesly overpriced and has awful, rude, and inexperienced servers. The staff here treated us so poorly. I will not be coming back. Very disappointed.

A great place to have lunch with a friend or family. The food is wonderful and sitting outdoors in Sherman Gardens makes everything a little better.
