The Japanese French store Mr. Akira Hirose does at the Pasadena city. The name of the store is Maison Akira. The first-class chef from whom Mr. Akira Hirose learned French cuisine under the Joel Robuchon by a French Maximam. A dish was entertained at a tower restaurant in Los Angeles for Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress in 1994. Its used in Lunch buffee at noon. Meat of beef, lamb and chicken is served by wonderful cooking. A lady was also enjoying a dessert greatly, a man enjoys French cuisine fully for a meat dish.

After much online research, I selected Maison Akira for my birthday dinner. Surprisingly, I was not disappointed. The food was uniformly superb. The sesame incrusted rare ahi tuna with wasabi caviar was one of the best entrees Ive ever had. The sauces which elsewhere are purely decorative were distinctive, balanced and complex. This was notably true of the sauce on the sashimi which lingered lemony on the palate. The deserts, so often disappointing, were dynamite. Id consider going back with my sister for a glass of champagne and sharing the entire desert menu. (One noted exception: the kir royale is too sweet. Avoid it unless you like cloying sweetness.) Maison Akira restaurant is eye-wateringly expensive (175 for two with 2 drinks--so alcohol wasnt a big line item.) and worth every penny! Ill be back.

We love this restaurant. We had the 8 course Birthday set menu and every bite was utterly delicious. Many of the 8 courses were bite-sized but memorable, so we did not feel stuffed at the end of it all. There was even a spectacular pomegranate granite palate cleanser. We are going again tonight and I can hardly wait. Any one is in for a treat who goes for an adventure in new tastes with an open mind.

We enjoyed the innovative menu of french cuisine with a slight Japanese influence. We had the 9 course tasting menu with the wine parings and both the food and wine portions were more than enough. Our favorites were the Sashimi appetizer and the Grand Marnier Souffle. The service was great and we approached the quietness so we could easily converse.

Could not give a 5. Service could have been better and more friendly. Never felt 5 star service nor was it a true experience. Almost had to give it a three star. Attention to detail was not there. We have the sea bass and it was great. The skin was cooked to perfection just like a salmon skin roll.

this by far one of the most expensive places i have ate. the portions are very small. it has a nice romantic environment but if you go as a couple they will tuck you away in a corner. dont get the dessert its better if you go another location that specializes in desserts.

i ate there the other night. i had the soup of the day (potage sorrel) and the rack of lamb. food tasted okay, but had better the week before at cheval blanc. prices are about 20% more expensive then the food warrants. also, the lack of a full bar warrants mentioning.

Yes it is pricey but the food Olalla....one of the best in the area! Really worth the dime! Decor is a bit old but still romantic atmosphere and excellence in service! We hosted friends from out of town and made a wonderful impression taking them to this sweet jewel.

Would never go here of my own accord, but took wife here for birthday. Food was was pretty good, but nowhere remotely close to worth the price. If it had been 1/4 the price, I would have given a solid 4 stars.
