Tried this for the first time last night. Being a Monday and later in the evening (8PM) we didnt have any problem getting seated right away (dont know what it is normally like). It was a bit difficult to find. Parked in the (free) parking structure down the block and walked around a bit before we found it. It is located on the courtyard side of group of shops. Menu was much more diverse than most, a number of uncommon dishes. Ordered the chile rellenos. They were excellent. The cheese they use has a nice flavor. It comes with a dab of guacamole, shredded cheese & pico. I prefer this to the red sauce may places use. Rice was better than most, frejoles refritos were bland (I will try the whole beans next time). Rosa was our waitress & provided excellence service. Atmosphere & decor were a bit above average. I will likely go again.

Casa Moreno, a Mexican restaurant in the Claremont Village. I went there for lunch. Their lunch menu is below $10, which is affordable. I got their two beef hard tacos plate, which includes rice and beans. Fresh not too salty and not too greasy. Their chips is a little salty but you can compensate the saltiness of it by taking the chips and dip with the beans and rice. The interior is like a Catina. Casa Moreno has a bar. Staff is very friendly. A great place to socialize and hangout. If youre looking for a Mexican Grill place in The Clermont Village, Casa Moreno is the place to go.

I called both locations during normal hours, Sunday at 7PM, trying to make reservations for a party on Monday. I called a bunch of times. Over and over. Nobody answered. At one location it rang until it hung up while the other ones said simply leave a message, not even telling you if you reached a friggin business. So you think I will risk holding a going away party to a place like this? Doubt it.

Dont listen to the bad reviews on here, I go to this restaurant every week with my girlfriend (shes a student at the nearby Scripps College), and Ive never had a problem. The food has always been delicious (her favorite is the Arroz Con Pollo, I always get a Tostada), and the staff is extremely nice and always remembers us. If you havent been, GO! Its a pleasure to dine here.

Casa Moreno is a fun place to come with a group. The atmosphere is very lively and the bar is huge. It can be hard to get in on weekends, so either make a reservation or show up and put your name down. The food is tasty and the portions are huge, so be prepared to eat a lot. They bring out chips and salsa when you sit.

Its not exactly traditional but its still tasty. I got the mango salmon salad, which had a really nice mango salsa on it. Service isnt fantastic, as our drinks werent refilled even though our server did come by a few times. Its worth a try! I enjoyed sitting outside in the patio people watching.

I ordered a carnitas burrito and it was moist and delicious. Chips were thin, fresh, and warm. Salsa was way too spicy for my taste but had a nice flavor otherwise. Outside seating provides a calm and peaceful atmosphere with lots of shade and fountains. Staff was friendly and attentive

The bar cocktails are good. The food isnt authentic enough. The green enchiladas sauce tasted like it came from a can. So did the beans. The albondiga soup and rice tasted bland and blah. It didnt have the meat flavor in the broth. Portions are good, but will only have drinks there.

Had lunch there yesterday with 9 of my co-workers to celebrate a baby shower. Food and service were good. However, 7 of us, including the mommy to be, got food poisoning and we all had the beans with our lunch! Dont think we will be eating here anynore!

Try it; youll love it. Have been going almost weekly since they opened. Terrific selection, great sauces, very friendly staff. For a real treat try the chicken enchilada al la crema or the chili rellenos (salsa verde). Two thumbs up!!

Got fish taco lunch special that comes with beans & rice for $7. The fish is grilled, not fried, which is better for me. Overall good food, good price for happy hour. My friends & I couldnt stop eating the chips & salsa, so yummy!

Margaritas here are delicious. Order the fish tacos, its worth it. Do not order any appetizers especially the Queso, they are poorly done. They have a nice outdoor seating area and drink specials.

Eatable Mexican food. Nothing bad, very Americanized. If you like cheese, youll be happy. Outdoor seating is the best part and is worth the extra price of eating just decent food.
