Lets do happy hour! Its difficult to rate a restaurant alone by its happy hour but if you are in the area check out the Daily Grill. If you are like me most of my trips to the Dupont area is for BB Jamboree kitchen and Tapioca Express. I basically considered Daily Grill a classy expensive restaurant that wasnt worth even checking out the menu. Maybe its just my Asian side talking but expensive American food or Mexican food doesnt make sense to me. The best tacos, steaks, or burgers are homemade. Even if its a celebrity chef cooking I can cut you the fancy bs description and how fine the wine is and homemade is still better. Excuse my rant. Back to Happy hour! I had a great time meeting with friends. The happy hour is reasonable and the food quality is pretty good. I ordered just one beer because this was social and business meet up and I wanted to run what we discussed. I do like the menu beer chaser item. You get a shot and a beer as a chaser maybe next time. I will enhance the level of my happy hour with this combo but Friday would be better Im not a young dude anymore. We ordered wings, calamari, asparagus, some cheese plate, and bread. Bread was included strangely this was one of my favorite items and Im not a bread person. The calamari was good but Ive had better. I was craving Wild Crab while eating it. Everything was a little grease for me and that includes the veggie appetizers. I want to try the famous chicken pot pie next time. I like the beers on tap. Im not a wine drinker so I cant comment on the wine. The tables near the bar area is a bit limited but if you arrive before 6pm on a weekday you should find space. Overall a very positive experience. I will go back for happy hour but food to price ratio was not impressive enough for me to go for dinner. I want to maximize my MU/P ratio for the greatest satisfaction. In other words my bang for the buck.

Its too bad that this Daily Grill WAS the go to watering hole in my neighborhood. Friends, neighbors, and I have patronized this location since the opening. Sad to say, not anymore. At one time, when Tim was the mgr., the service and food were good, Since his leaving it has been strictly down hill. The waiters/waitresses have been turning over on a weekly basis; the managers have been turning over on a monthly basis, and I was told that they have been experimenting with new chefs recently. That has become obvious with the food being served late, cold, over cooked - having to be sent back. The drink menu(wine)has changed to the point that there is nothing of interest, however the $$ remain sky high, and the glass of $10 wine is poured into a huge glass in miserly increments. [That $10 glass of wine, btw, retails for $9 the bottle.] The wife and I recently ate there. We had a reservation, and were promptly seated. It was twenty minutes before I had to flag down a waiter for service - no water, bread, drinks - nada. That waiter passed us off to a waitress who had just begun working there in the past week or so. Our order finally arrived, and it was mediocre…..a replica of what this Daily Grill has become. There are too many good choices in this area that deserve our patronage. As stated at the outset, sadly, Daily Grill is no longer one of those. 2 1/2 Stars

Food was great! Was a little pricey but not outrageous. Very large portions, at least for what i ate; quesadillas. I know, not something you would normally get at a nice restaurant but i had a hankerin. LOL. Atmosphere was great and very upscale inside. Great place to hang out with friends! Easy to get to. Parking lot a challenge to maneuver, small spots and tight corners.

The pot pies are the best. The service can be hit or miss here. If you tip every person possible like an older couple was, then you get great service of course. If you dont throw around money like that. Your taking your chances. So far been there 4 times and had great service twice and bad service twice. Last time they completely for got a meal for one person in our group.

Service was horrible. Guy and woman bartender couldnt care less about the customers. Slow evening i guess they figured they wont make money so why try. Fellow next to me complained about his beverage and the bartender gave him a careless apology. Tons of great bars and restaurants in the area. No need to waste your time or money here. MQRK

Went for lunch by myself. Host was excellent (and thankfully, didnt use the "table for one" line) Service was great; very authentic and attentive server. Food was very good. Menu has nice variety of classic American food. My very favorite....several sides of potatoes available on the side. Long live the starches!! I would highly recommend.

Its okay is exactly how I would describe Daily Grill. Ive only been here for happy hour and they serve pretty good pub food. Actually more than pub food. Their calamari was decent. Service is a little sporadic but it seemed we only had two servers for the bar and patio area so I understand that they were short staffed.

Lunch and dinner at reasonable prices and handcrafted dishes. Crafting exceptional cuisine and libations beverages. One notable item is the homemade key lime pie, freshly squeezed juices, and salmon. Sushi is also a regional California Fusion favorite and you can order entree and pick up for home picnic on home lawn.

Was 5 star but they changed chefs...now Mac and cheese which was the best, is now mediocre. Lots of changes in employees and thus the food not same...dont think changes are for the better... Think changes are for management to appear as if theyre doing something. Enough ranting..food was good not so much now

Ive been coming to here for about 2 years now and I just cant say enough good things about this place! The food is absolutely phenomenal and their customer service matches the quality of their food. If youre ever in the area it is definitely worth checking out. And if youre not in the area, make the trip!

You can enjoy Steak, Pasta, Hamburger, Sandwich, Salad etc. at Daily Grill. I ate B.L.T.A sandwich at the time. BLTA sandwich that is made of Bacon, Lettuce,Tomato and Avocado. On top of that, they added a fried egg. It was really delicious. I would like to recommend to try to eat B.L.T.A.

Awesome service and food! We had our daughters graduation luncheon at the Daily Grill in Irvine this afternoon (6/28/14) and everyone enjoyed their meals. GREAT service by Veronica and Mike, and Brian the manager. I recommend hosting your special celebrations at Daily Grill in Irvine.

Great food! Great service! Fair prices. Very nice ambiance. Hard to find anything bad to say here... The Parking lot is kinda small, But there is additional parking below ground. I would highly recommend this place.

Not the same ol Daily Grill thats for sure. Empty promises, lack of ingredients on Cobb Salad, had to hunt for the avocado and bacon. Just a huge disappointment. Too bad for a once good staple!

Food, place ok. Service: we had a man who was not motivated. So only 3 stars. But this does not apply to the entire team. I will come back and hopefully give 4 stars next time.
