Chorizo and egg burrito w/ potatoes is BOMB! This quaint little mexican resturant has fantastic food. You can tell the food is made like REAL mexican food. It looks like a family gig there and you can tell because they take pride in the place. Odd location, but great reasonably priced food. I will even say "cheap" food because its only $4 bucks for a PHAT breakfast burrito. Thanks for a great place to eat in Chico! El Rey is da BOMB!

Best refried beans...period. Chile Colorado has got some spicey heat and great Chile flavor. Cheese lovers are sure to appreciate the Spanish omellette. Dont know if its on the menu but a Chile relleno burrito can be ordered. Good stuff. Pretty good Pozole, too. Overall very good food prepared from scratch from the owner. Highly recommended.

Had a chicken taco and chicken enchilada. Taco was somewhat bland as was the enchilada. Enchilada had white sauce I did not care for. Bets thing is they brought free chips and salsa. Service was good and the food was cheap though.

This place is not fancy, but it is the most authentic Mexican food in the Chico area. The service is understated but friendly, and the prices are very reasonable.
