Its 2 a.m. on a very early Saturday, and a stumbling group of bloodshot-eyed adults are yelling over each other for a comforting carne asada burrito. They loudly ask each other what theyre ordering, as they simultaneously stare at their reflection on a mirror. Another group rampages inside yelling, "Food!" and hysterically laugh at someone retelling an embarrassing story. As for the crew of Nord Avenues Aca Taco, they viciously attack every order with a swift hand. Giant flour tortillas are heated, chicken and beef chopped into small chunks, beans are constantly stirred and bowls repeatedly refilled with sour cream, salsa and other condiments. An occasional Spanish word is yelled out, but for the most part, employees at this Mexican restaurant are too busy putting together orders. Although calm and comforting in the daytime, this venue turns into a hysterical drunk mess on the weekends, as it is one of a few places that close at 3 a.m. As for me, Im soberly enjoying peoples stories, laughs, sobs and fights. Theres no censorship; its the perfect place for dinner and a show. The usual is sold here: burritos, tacos, nachos, combination plates of meat, rice and beans, etc. I wanted to try something a little different and asked for a corn mula for $3.75. I wasnt exactly feeling like soda that night, so I asked for a free cup of water instead. The waiting time took a bit longer than usual, but it was understandable considering the amount of customers. "Esmeralda!" yells one of the employees. I make my way through a rowdy crowd of women with leather jackets and grab my plate. Although the food is served on a paper plate, the plating of the corn mula has a nice symmetrical design to it. The mula is basically a corn quesadilla with your choice of meat. In my case, I asked for beef. The plate has two "quesadillas" on opposite sides of the plate, and three shallow cups holding red salsa, sour cream and guacamole. I opened one of the mulas to spread some sour cream and guacamole over the melted cheese and chunks of beef. I closed it before all the steam and warmth escaped and dipped the corner inside the salsa. Aca Taco has a couple of other salsas, but this one was milder and had a stronger tomato flavor. I didnt want any heavy textures like onions in a burrito, so the smoothness and simplicity of this appetizer was very enjoyable. The fact that I had control of how much to put inside my mula was also appreciated. The cheese inside the mula wasnt overwhelming and the beef had the right amount of salt and spices.

I always have great service and great quality of food. Is my favorite place to get burritos. However, the service that I got today was awful. The new cashier was rude and disrespectful. Its a nice way of ruining my favorite place to eat. Honestly if you are going to be a cashier you should be nice. If you dont like to work why are you even working? Who gave her the job, seriously? The burrito was delicious though.

On Average all the food was not a good experience because it was mostly can or highly processed food. They did good on quesadillas and rice & beans. I rather go to taco bell if I would eat processed food. I have to say I will not eat here again. It is really cheap for the food, now I see why it would be cheap. The horchata was really good but not enough to keep me coming. I think nothing can bring here again.

did not like the people that work there because they were rude and talk in another reeling which and laughing and got my order wrong I gave them about one star because they ruined my order and they give us soaking wet jalapenos crinkled up in tinfoil how disrespectful that is.it was okay but I only give them one star Im very disappointed

Asked for no onions on my burrito, walked all the way home to find onions in my burrito. I am allergic and cant believe their cooks dont even know how to read. Then they gave me a hassle about refunding my money. Will never return to this mush burrito place. Get it together you guys dont even deserve one star.

Ownership changed around early summer 2011 and has continued what I believe to be a long tradition of good food, value, and friendly service. I really liked the previous ownership, but also find the new management and staff to be full of smiles. And, I like the food as much as I ever did.

They almost never give you all your food when you order it. Then tell you some bs they will give you something free next time. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Nord Aca taco is better!

This is my favorite place to go for a burrito. Less expensive then Chipotle and far better taste/flavors. They also have a small bar if youre there for the evening.

The vegetarian aca burrito was very flavorful. I got the small one which was huge and plenty for lunch. Great options here for veg food thats not lacking flavor.
