We were driving back to SF from Lassen NP, and wanted to stop somewhere for a quick dinner. As an alternative to generic fast food, I found this restaurant via g-maps and was encouraged to give it a try based on the other positive reviews. Wow! What delicious cooking. If this place was located in a major city it would be written about feverishly as a really great dining option. We had the Molcajete del Dios Hulchol and a shrimp burrito. The M was incredible: king crab legs, langoustines, shrimp, octopus, mussels etc. in a smoky, spicy broth. Really great cooking...in a tiny locals restaurant located off the highway. If youre headed north up I-5 via the 505, I recommend you plan to stop here for a quick lunch or dinner.

We thought I had eaten good Mexican food until we ate at Las Islitas. Me wifes garlic shrimp were to die for. My steak and assuage smothered in cheese, served on a hot plate was wonderful. All the side dishes were also good.
