Father’s Day Lunch at Claim Jumper in Brea… OH MY… where do I begin!! If I could have give this restaurant ZERO stars, I would have! We had reservations for 2:00 PM… party of eight with a high chair. When we made the reservation we were told, that because of Father’s Day, we had the table for two hours, and had to be done within that timeframe. I figured NOT an issue. As long as service was prompt, there should be no problem. We arrived at 1:45 and I advised them we were there. The party before us wasn’t finished, so we didn’t get seated until 2:20 PM. Close enough to 2:00pm, so that was not an issue. Drink orders were taken fairly quickly and drinks and bread were server fairly fast. A few minutes later, the server was back to take food orders. Those of us that ordered salads got them pretty quick. BUT, that’s when things started to go downhill, with one issue after another. In addition to constantly having to ask for DRINK REFILLS, there were EIGHT of us that ordered, and FIVE out of the EIGHT food order had issues!! 1) They brought my son in law the wrong sandwich. He had to wait for the correct one to be made and brought out. Although they were reasonably quick with the correct sandwich, everyone had started eating by the time he got the correct food. The server admitted he input the wrong info!! 2) My wife ordered a Half Sandwich with Lemon Pepper Zucchini as a side. It was served with NO dipping sauce for the zucchini. By the time it was brought out, the zucchini was cold! 3) My daughter ordered the California Citrus Salad. Asked for dressing on the side. It was served with NO dressing, NO blue cheese crumbles, and very little Mandarin Oranges, green apples, dried cranberries, and glazed pecans. She told the server and he said he’d bring the dressing and blue cheese crumbles right out, along with additional oranges, apples, and cranberries. My daughter waited while everyone else ate their lunch. She told the waiter as he was walking by that she still hadn’t received her dressing, and couldn’t start the salad without it. He said: “SORRY, BUT THEY ARE VERY BUSY IN THE KITCHEN”. WOW, that was definitely the WRONG answer!! Finally, he brought out her salad fixings so she could START eating!! 4) My other son in law wanted to order a pizza and asked some questions about the Gluten Free Crust. The server said… “I DON’T KNOW”. WHAT???? You are serving the food and can’t answer a question about it??? Or even offer to get an answer? What kind of training are these people getting???? Obviously… NOT ENOUGH!!! 5) I ordered the Meatloaf and asked for Baked Potato instead of mashed. The server said that would be extra. NO PROBLEM… I figured there would be an upcharge for the baker!! I began my meal and thought to myself… “there is something wrong with this order.” I got up and grabbed a menu, and sure enough, there were NO ROASTED VEGETABLES on the plate!! By this time I had had enough and called for a manager. She came over and I explained all of the issues, and also told her what the server said about the kitchen being busy. I told her this was not Claim Jumpers first Father’s Day, and you’d think they’d be better prepared!! She apologized and said she’d bring me some roasted veggies, which she did. Then another manager came over and again apologized for the issues, and offered to take the Citrus Salad and Meatloaf orders off the check. That was fine! He also offered some deserts, but by this time everyone in our party was so TIRED of the lack of service and food quality, we just wanted to leave!! There was a time when the Claim Jumper was the best game in town. I remember on Father’s Day, the place would be full and there would be a two hour wait… WHAT HAPPENED?? Both food and service were crappy. And YES, the manager gave us credit for two meals, the bill was still over $150... PLUS TIP!!! SO, now what? Do I really want to go back to Claim Jumper and try again?? I think NOT!!

Very disappointing dinner. Started off ordering appetizers, server got this wrong an brought our appetizers and dinners all at the same time. Not good. RotIsserie chicken dinner sitting on the plate with a baked potato, aside from it not having any visual appeal, the chicken looked an tasted completely dried out, we sent it back, this time ordering the tri tip dinner, medium rare....that also went back, This one was completely like chewing on leather. Manager was ok at first but then started telling me how he had checked the chicken in the back an it all looked good. Well sir, mine was not good. Even though He comped the dinner, he was not professional at all. Of course I had no dinner now.......Have always loved the Claim Jumper, but that was the last time going to the one on Brea......

Huge disappointment. I have loved Claim Jumpers over the years. This last visit, and it was the last visit I will make, I ordered the ribeye expecting the usual savory goodness. What I received as a poorly cooked slice of beef that would have been better off as ground beef. Overcooked, no marbling, and bland. The muffins are half their former size. They are incredibly stingy with the butterand sour cream. Needed at least 4 times the tiny amount they gave. If it wasnt for the good service I would have given it 1 star.

I came here to grab lunch about 2 weeks ago. The food was delicious, the clam chowder was great as well. I was really disappointed with the service though. The restaurant was really empty and yet our server wasnt attentive. After we got our food he only checked up on us once and didnt come back again. We finished our meal, half an hour went by and he was nowhere to be found. I had to get out of my seat to go find him and ask for the bill. I was very dissatisfied with the service.

Great for sit down, dont bother if its pickup. Three times now Ive put in an order 3-4 hours ahead of time and every time Ive been told to wait 15-20 minutes after getting there. That 15-20 Minutes has always turned into 30-45 minutes. Last time the manager gave me a free desert. I appreciate the gesture but Id appreciate my order being ready. Other then that the food is great and if Im dining in I prefer it over other claim jumpers.

This restaurant offers large potions of really lousy food. More is not better and with claim jumper neither is less. My two friends developed food poisoning from tainted food. You dont need a steak that was not slaughtered it died of old age,nor does anyone need a baked potato that is the size of an official NFL football. Save your money stay away from cloned restaurants that serve industrial based food.

Our recent visit to the Claim Jumper in Brea was a huge disappointment. We were a group of 14, former teachers from a common school, and we spent 2 and a half hours there and were ignored most of the time. We never got a refill on water or iced teas. When asked if we wanted dessert, we said yes, and only got the check in response! Food was good, but service was terrible.
