Every time I go here, I get a meal that is just simply excellent. This last time, I got the Bayrischer Toast, which consists of a Jagerschnitzel style mushroom sauce over pork, with bacon and onions, on toast, and has a salad on the side. Absolutely delicious: the sauce was creamy and light and just mushroom-y enough, the pork was tender, the salad was, as usual, a German delight of dill-marinated vegetables & a creamy dressing. This restaurant is a treat for me: its a bit pricey for daily dining, but when I want some good old German comfort food, this is where I go. I particularly love their Kasespätzle, which comes with a German salad, and is an excellently filling dinner. Try their Rouladen, their Weinershnitzel, and their Cordon Bleu, which is a fantastically light version of the breaded chicken meal we know now. The prices are right for the quality. Great beer, too! And the staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the trip to Ben Lomond!

Since returning back to America from my five years stay in Germany back in 2007, I have not had the opportunity to dine and drink and a proper German beer garden until now. This Inn was like a mirage inside of an oasis of trees with red wood across from the comfort in all places. Which is down the street from nothing and up the road from I forgot. A diamond in the nothing rough would be another way to describe it. I took my girlfriend and her son out for dinner here purely out of its convent location to my hotel across the street. Imagine my face full of that pleasantly surprised look when I saw Hofbrau banners hanging outside. As advertised they were served outside in the Beer Garden where the theme for the night was German... the theme for every night here is German. I recommend the pint and an hour to kill along with the bratwurst and sausage with some damn good potatoes if you want an experience like mine to remember.

The first time we came to this place the food was okay, if a little over priced, and the service was pretty good. So we decided to give it a second chance. This time the food was still only okay and still over priced and the service was terrible. Since we decided not to pay an extra $10 by ordering dessert, the waitress decided to punish us by making us wait at least 30 minutes for the check while I witnessed her chitchatting in the back with the rest of the staff. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! We may try the buffet because then we dont have to put up with the wait staff as much. Other than that I am completely done with the so-called "fine dining" experience of the Tyrolean Inn.

We have been coming here the last five years and have never been disappointed. You may spend a little extra money, but the food, atmosphere, and service is all worth it. My favorite is the Pfeffer steak and we love the trout appetizer. Christine is frequently our server and is always so friendly and helpful, especially with helping us find drinks for the night. This place is unlike any other place in the bay area and is a hidden gem in the beautiful mountains. Thank you to all the staff at Tyrolean Inn for always creating an awesome experience for us!

Wow, what a wonderful experience! The service provided by Holly was great and the food was so delightful we couldnt stop eating! All plans for the evening after dinner were changed to going home and rubbing our fat full bellies! The Wed special wienersnitzle was awesome, served with a fantastic dill salad, and the cauliflower Gratin was a cheese lovers heaven, and the Apple strudel..Well..I almost licked the plate! We will certainly be going back!! Several things we must try next time.

2015.06.06: Best Bavarian atmosphere Ive seen outside of Bayern, echte Gemütlichkeit! The Biergarten under the trees feels like Germany (although its just a bit close to the road). Everyone was super-nice, and the beer was great. The food was good; really liked the Weisswurst and Brezel, but the daily special (wild boar) was not as flavorful as I was hoping. Love that they allow dogs in the Biergarten and have play areas for children!

and no, its definitely not fast food, but its worth the wait. Plus there is a great beer to be had while you enjoy being there. Ive had the Gulasch, the Rouladen, sausages, steak, my wife usually has the vegetarian platter (which is an assortment of their yummy side dishes), and my kids usually eat the Spaetzle (swabian noodles) or Semmelknoedel (bavarian dumplings). We have never been disappointed.

This place is a gem! The space is beautiful, the food is tasty, the beer is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and best of all, they are completely dog friendly. They dont just allow you to bring your dog. They are happy to see them! The staff brought out a water bowl just for our dogs, and even some special treats. We drove 2+ hours to dine here, and we will definitely make the trip again!

This is a wonderful place surrounded by redwoods with excellent food. My fiancee and I eat here several times each year when were in the area. I recommend a stein of Dunkel Hefeweizen with some Hungarian Goulash. Its not true goulash but something Hungarians would call porkolt which is more like a thick paprika beef stew served over homemade spaetzle. Nevertheless its a fantastic dish.

They make the food to order it is not already prepared and heated up. So it can take a bit, but in my opinion well worth that short wait. You do not get food like this in the typical restaurant these days. The chef is from Germany, the beer selection is very good. I had a mixed plate, it was delicious and very filling. I had lunch the next day with the leftovers.

German restaurant nestled in the woods above Santa Cruz area. Friendly staff, great beer selection and delicious rich food. Probably one of the best saurkraut and mashed potatoes Ive ever eaten. I ordered the specialty braised pork shank. Indoor and outdoor seating, bring repellent spray to fend off mosquitoes!

Best Bavarian style restaurant in the greater Bay Area. Their roasted pork knuckles are outstanding. I also appreciate the good beer selection (some from the tap). Only downside is the 60s and 70s German folklore music playing the background.

Caught them for Restaurant Week recently, and it was a pretty good deal. Even though I have German heritage, Im actually not a big fan of either German food or beer, but weve been fairly happy with at least the food on several past visits.

Fun German restaurant. We shared a pork chop dish that they split with extra sides. The red cabbage was more sour than I make but all in all it was a good meal. We plan on a return visit, where we can have a more European experience.

Absolutely loved this place! Very nice atmosphere, great location, excellent bear selection with tasters, very friendly staff and a guy who was playing accordion contributing to the great atmosphere. I will come back many times!

This is my favorite restaurant. Amazing food and service in a very nice environment. Everything is pretty authentic as far as I remember from being in Germany. Its mostly meat dishes with lots of sauce so expect calories.

For an expat there is a lot of food to rediscover here. The portions are big. Its not gourmet, and everything looks very old-fashioned. But do try it out and read some German on the walls and taste beer from back home.
