There is great Chinese food and mediocre Chinese food. Even when its not great you still know what to expect for flavors. This is neither of those experiences. I did not think it was possible to make truly terrible Americanized Chinese food. Control group: General Tsos, crab rangoon, fried shrimp with veggies, a fruity drink. Our first drink, a Mai Tai tasted pretty much like a sour orange took a piss in a glass of aspartame. Im not kidding. We actually had to send it back, which we never do. The crab rangoon was amazingly under-fried; doughy, chewy, no thank you. The fried shrimp was batter-fried like you would imagine chicken fingers to be, in a sauce that most closely resembled the part of brown gravy you usually discard. I honestly never thought it would be possible to have bad General Tsos chicken, or "General Spicy Chicken" as they call it. Perhaps it was the Hawaiian punch red color of the chicken that should have first alerted me. In retrospect, the fact that the waitress attempted to deter me from this choice should have been a red flag. The sauce was unlike anything I have ever tasted; best guess is grenadine, corn syrup, and barbecue sauce with some indecipherable grainy texture thrown in. If it was anything distinguishable I would say sugar... or sand. My wife concurs that this is the most accurate description either of us can think of. The only redeeming factor was that the chicken appeared to be real, easing my growing concern for imminent kidney failure. If you do decide to eat here, make sure to accept the free cup of tea you are offered upon arrival and scald your mouth to a tingly numbness prior to partaking in your meal. This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Kennebunk/Arundel/Biddeford/Saco area - they have fast service, low prices, large portions, and the food is superb. Standouts include excellent lo mein, boneless spare ribs, and generals chicken, though you cant really go wrong with anything on the menu. Ignore the down reviews (particularly the one a month prior to mine, written by an obvious lunatic) - this is legitimate New England Chinese operated by a superb Biddeford family.

Very disappointed :-( rice was dry with no flaver, chicken and beef on a stick , stuck in the throught... wings were tough... Chicken fingers and crab Rangoon were ok. Waitress was curt and hard to understand when requesting a substitution - all in all I will not return or recommend this restaurant .. Oh, and if you like gristle for ribs, than their ribs are for you.

Theyve lost me as a customer. I usually order take out from here because it is so close to my office, however I made the mistake of dining in last week. Ive never felt so uncomfortable trying to place an order with a waitress before. I definitely WONT be back.

We use to go once a week. Ordered out once and ate in twice since new owners. It was terrible. Rice had no flavor, chicken fingers were so crunchy, teraki steak was so fatty and chicken wings were so greasy and we waited a long time to order and get food.

I have been going to a lot of differnet Chinese Restaurants in Maine. The decor maybe a little older but I have to say you couldnt find a better Chinese Restaurant in all of Maine that is better than Happy Dragon. Andrew

This is a very good Chinese food restaurant. The food quality and selection is very good. The service is LIGHTNING fast! Sometimes its almost too fast and can detract from the experience because it goes by too fast!
