I have always loved Red Robin, and when my husband suggested it for Fathers Day I was excited to go, even though it is about 40 minutes from our house. We were seated promptly and the hostesses were very friendly and courteous. They sat us in the greenhouse area with windows at the front, and as it is a very hot (106) Arizona day, this area of the restaurant was sweltering. It was a good 10-15 degrees warmer than the rest of the restaurant. My husband and 3 year old ran to the bathroom because our waitress was taking forever to get our order. I placed my sons order and told the waitress that my husband and I would be ready to order in about 3 minutes. She then never came back. For at least 10 or 15 minutes. Finally it was so hot, and we had no drinks, and we decided to ask to be re-seated to a cooler area of the restaurant. Now, we expected that there might be a little confusion with our order, but they assured us it would be fine. The waitress in the new section came promptly to take the remainder of our order, and we reminded her what we ordered originally, which included a basket of fries with ranch while we waited. Eventually drinks came, and then my sons meal, but no utensils, and before we could ask, the waitress turned and was gone, ignoring our attempts to flag her down and call her back. After several more minutes (empty water #1) I went up to the hostesses to get silverware, since my son couldnt eat his food without it. Our basket of fries with ranch never came. When our food finally arrived there was still no ranch, and my water was empty yet again. Again, as we were trying to settle our baskets, without asking if we needed anything else the waitress disappeared. I turned to call her, and she pretty pointedly ignored me. Our ketchup was empty, and after waiting to see if we could get anyones attention for at least 10 minutes we just stole some off another table. My water was empty AGAIN when the waitress came to the table behind ours. I turned all the way around and tried to catch her eye as she was delivering their food, and said, "Excuse me, Im sorry, excuse me," as she turned and tried to leave. My husband stood up and loudly said, "EXCUSE ME. Please dont ignore us," and she came back without an apology. I pointed out that my water was empty and suggested she bring a pitcher if she wasnt going to be back through any time soon, and asked for my ranch again. She did bring water and ranch pretty quickly. The food was good other than the crispy onions on my burger were just a soggy mess. Everything else was very good. She did come by to check on waters when she had to get an order for a table near ours and we told her we were finished. Ten minutes later I went hunting to ask her for our check, because by then we had been there almost 2 hours and my 3 year olds patience was totally at an end. When she came to bring the check I was busily filling out a comment card, and amazingly that made her check by us three more times in the 8 minutes it took my son to finish a few more french fries. There wasnt any confusion with us changing tables, there was just a total lack of service. We werent the only ones with empty water glasses, and the waitress just wasnt around for most of the meal. When she did come into the area we practically had to tackle her to get her attention. The place was NOT that busy.I am used to great food and great service at Red Robin, but with this experience? We will not be back.

I decided to take my girlfriend here for a date on Saturday 9/17/16 around 2pm. That was a mistake. Service was decent, they seated us right away.....although when we were being seated they put us at a booth that had spilled food under it. They were apologetic and assured us it would be cleaned up right away, which it was. The young guy cleaning it up was also apologetic and I was just responding with "No worries man, no big deal" and thanked him. I really didnt mind the spilled food under our table since they were quick to clean it up and polite, but my girlfriend and I were thinking that the food better be worth it. Hahaha it wasnt. A restaurant should have food that is better than a fast food joints, and this place was worse. 1) As an appetizer we got Reds Tavern Fries- "Our steak fries smothered in American cheese, thousand island dressing and bacon pieces." Sounds good right? It was crap. They put 2 slices of American cheese on top that werent at all melted. Barely any dressing and bacon pieces. And the bacon "pieces" were actually tiny bits. It tasted like In & Outs animal style fries, except In & Outs taste waaaayyy better and cost half the price. I was pretty unsatisfied but ate it anyways because I hadnt eaten yet that day and was hungry. Good thing I had ranch. Also we ordered the appetizer and kept looking at the menu for our main dish, for like 10-15 minutes. I was taking my time deciding on what I wanted, waiting for my appetizer to arrive. The hostess came by a few times asking if we need a drink refill and if we were ready to order. Finally we ordered our main dish and not long after our crap appetizer came to us. Hmmm? 2)My girlfriend got the Turkey burger which she said was just ok, not great. I on the other hand got the Bleu Ribbon burger, which wasnt as delicious as I thought it would be. The skinny burger patty was burnt and dry and the bun was dry and crumbling like it got toasted for too long....the description of the burger doesnt even say if its supposed to be toasted. Also there was barely any steak sauce and chipotle aioli on it, literally barely any. When I order a burger I dont want to pay 10 bucks for some dry P.O.S burger. I went to Wendys the next day and got a better tasting burger for half the price. $45 later and the best part of my experience at this place was the bottomless fries and drinks. The service was just ok, questionably. Food sucked. Overall I wont be coming back to this Red Robin ever.

This used to be my favorite place to eat, but is it just me or has the way they prepare the burgers changed? The past few times over the year Ive eaten here I feel like my burger tastes more and more like charred lighter fluid everytime, its disgusting, I realize they flame grill their burgers but I never remember their burgers tasting so lighter fluid charred that it is all you taste. I am not the only one who has said this, I have had numerous friends and family members complain about the same thing of the quality of the burgers changing, but this being a favorite place to go, I kept giving chances in hopes of food improving again. My family and I ate there last Wednesday (2/1/17) and the food was awful, my mom, grandma and I all ordered a bacon cheeseburger, my dad and husband ordered a royal red robin, my grandpa had some gourmet burger, and my brother a pepper bacon burger. My mom and I couldnt even finish our burgers because it was so lighter fluid charred tasting, for the rest of the night we kept burping up what can only be described as a charred lighter fluid taste, it was awful, thank goodness for the bottomless fries to fill us up, but even they werent the greatest tasting and were a bit burned. Everyone else said their burgers had the strong burnt charred taste as well and didnt enjoy the taste of them. Next problem is my WHOLE family got food poisoning... my grandpa didnt even make the ride home before we had to pull over for a bathroom, my grandma was up vomiting all night and the rest of us have been sick as dogs, not eating, suffering from horrible abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, chills etc. all week now. Safe to say we all decided we are never ever eating here or any Red Robin again. Sad because Red Robin used to be my go to place for a good burger, but they changed it along the way somewhere, and the for the high prices, the quality of the food and the service, it just isnt good or worth it anymore. I will be going to other places to eat from now on.
