Not sure if Bird & Barley or Burgers & Barley, it seems they havent totally made up their mind on what their name is. But maybe they should just try a 3rd brand new option because whatever theyre trying right now isnt working for them. We thought that we got lucky finding an uncrowded place so near to the Sundance action, but now we realize why. From the moment we stepped in, it just didnt feel like friendly service. There was a guy that told us to sit wherever we want, as we were looking at the giant menu printed above the bar. We said ok and continued looking at the menu, and he again told us to sit wherever we want. Thank you but were still looking at the menu. By the third time he told us to sit wherever we want, I gave up on looking at the menu and picked a seat rather than deal with this guy any more. Dont put up a gigantic menu if you have something against people standing and reading it. About 20 minutes after we ordered, we were told that the chef apparently "didnt see" our ticket, and that it would be more of a wait. Again, not a good start, especially when youre in a rush to see a movie premiere. I picked out a Peppered burger that came with bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato. It was average, not the best not the worst. The bacon had a good flavor to it, but the burger patty itself just was dry and bland. The part I liked the best was definitely the bun. I hope that you like some fries with your salt, because they definitely dont skimp on the sodium chloride. They were hot and fresh, but I found myself having to scrape each one off before being able to taste the potato hidden among the salt. The worst part by far was the "Poutine". In quotes because this was a laughable excuse for poutine. It was on the menu as "fries covered in sausage gravy, cheese curds, and diced green-onions. What it really was is fries with runny nursing home gravy, a spoonful of cottage cheese, and no green-onions in sight. When we asked the waitress about it, she said "that is just how the chef usually makes it." 1) Dont include ingredients on the menu if you arent going to make it with them. 2) Nobody that has ever had even mediocre poutine is going to accept this as poutine. 3) Dont be surprised when people send it back. It wasnt a good experience, and I wont be coming back. It was one of those experiences where it felt like youre just throwing money down the drain. I hear good things about some of the other restaurants in that same plaza that Ill try instead.

I was pleasantly surprised by Burgers and Barley. It was late afternoon when I visited, and there were only a couple of other customers there, and restaurant floor area isnt that big, so I had low expectations. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk burger (prices are very reasonable for PC), and was delighted with the charred logo that had been "branded" on top of the bun. The burgers are thick, almost an inch, are char-grilled to about medium doneness. And it tasted really good! All of it: the meat, the condiments, and especially the bun (the latter being most important to me). The burger wasnt dry, but also wasnt squirting sauce all over the place when I bit into it. A good balance. And it holds together very well considering how thick it is. In fact, after dining regularly in Park City for the last 20 years, I would dare say its my favorite burger Ive ever had there. And I wasnt expecting that at all. I used to be a truck driver, and have had burgers in many different places all over the country, and this place holds its own with any of the great places Ive been to. Thats my opinion, however, based on my preferences, so take it with a grain of salt. Bottom line, I see myself coming back here often. Theyve been in business only about 18 months, so they dont quite have the notoriety that they may well someday have. But I think it will come if they can get the message out.

The strip mall this restaurant is in doesnt look promising, but the food and service were both good. The positives: The servings were generous, the food was warm, they had lots of sauces. My husband got the buffalo chicken wrap and enjoyed it (he did say the buffalo was really strong), and got the Cali Burger and it was refreshing and filling. Our water glasses stayed full and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. The negatives: When we came in, there wasnt a sign telling us to seat ourselves our a hostess. We stood awkwardly at the door for a few minutes before the waitress noticed us and told us we could pick a seat. The Cajun fries didnt really taste like Cajun fries - there was barely any seasoning on them. There was a dessert on the website that looked like a smores mason jar or something (it looked DIVINE) but it wasnt on the menu, which was disappointing.

My party and I chose to eat at Burgers & Barley on a whim and boy am I glad we chose it. The food was absolutely fantastic. I had the Rasta Monsta and it was easily one of the best burgers Ive eaten in a long time. Granted, you can tell its not exactly the healthiest option, but then I dont know any beef burgers that can claim to be healthy. As a nice little touch, I enjoyed that they brand their burgers. Its a sign of pride in their food I think, and its worth it to say their pride is not misplaced. Service was quick and friendly. We were encouraged to tell them what we could do to make our dinner more enjoyable, even if it was just friendly conversation. If youre in Park City for any reason and looking for some fantastic food, I highly recommend you stop by Burgers & Barley.

While I was disappointed to see Bird and Barley leave, Burger and Barley is a good replacement. Park City doesnt have a lot of reasonably priced but good restaurants and this definitely fits in that category. Two burger meals plus a fountain drink was $30. The sweet potato fries are delicious but regular/cajun fries nothing special. The burgers are excellent. There are a few places to get burgers in PC but theyre all expensive (or in the Boneyards case, way too slow service). Well be back!

Best Burgers in Park City, Period! For years I would always go to the "No Name Saloon" anytime I had a craving for a good burger and while their burgers are great, the burgers at "Burgers and Barley" are simply the best. My favorite is the "Pig Pen", but they are all very tasty and perfectly cooked. The cajun fries are also pretty excellent. Burgers and Barley is definitely the place to go for a very casual lunch or dinner and the best burger in Park City!

First off, the food is reasonably priced, which was a big reason for going here to begin with versus the higher-priced restaurants in town. I had the Huckleberry burger, and it was absolutely amazing. The brie and blueberries went really well together, and the burger itself was cooked perfectly. The seating area inside is kind of small, but there were still several open tables. Ill definitely eat here again when in town.
