Never would recommend this restaurant. Poor quality of service. there were only four customers including me. I went at 9:15 today. The waiters were busy watching on the TV. Nobody to welcome you and assign you the seat. Heard the waiter recommending another good restaurant after I ordered the food. Ordered three items. Garlic naan was like papad, did not eat it. Chicken curry was like it is the left over curry from yesterday. Rice was cold . They give you the food and nobody to ask if you need anything . so I get up and go inside to give me the check. she comes with the wrong amount on it. If you need water go and ask, if you need togo box go and ask for it, if you need the check go and ask for it.But still paid $22.50 because I wanted to play fair. Please do not go and waste your time and money. Did not want to give even one star, but want to publish my review hence giving the star , food is not worth even the star.

Very unhappy with the level of customer service when I placed a large catering order and used a gift certificate that a friend had purchased. The gift certificate did not have an expiration date and the owner would not take it as a form of payment, saying that it was expired even though it clearly had no expiration date. This was all decided after I had picked up the food and left the restaurant, I was asked to return. Even after owner stated she refused to take the gift certificate, I tried to meet her half way but she insisted I pay in full or not at all. I ended up paying in full because I would never not pay. But I was shocked at the level of unwillingness and way she talked to me and the lady that purchased the gift certificate, to not even come to a solution for both parties. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone, that is not the appropriate way to handle a customer.

We love Indian food...I mean...we love it! This place is absolutely incredibly delicious. Atmosphere was lovely...elegant but culturally enriched. Staff was cheerful and tentative. We ordered the Chicken Masala (or Chicken Tikka Masala), and it was the perfect melody of tangy tomato, buttery creaminess, and rich in flavor and spices. I ordered it mild but could have gone with medium. We also ordered the vegetarian dish of Malai Kofta. The kofta dumplings were seasoned perfectly, not overly fried or soaked in oil. The sauce was pure heaven. Delicate, but full of aromatic spices. The chai tea was also a nice blend of spices and not overly sweet. Absolutely a delightful evening. We will he back again to lick the plates clean.

THE MOST DELICIOUS INDIAN FOOD IN THE VALLEY! I have been eating Indian food all over the world since I was a kid. Till today I have not eaten food as good as the Jewel. It is truly a Jewel in the valley. I have been following them since their first location 30 years ago and the food has always kept its standards. Apart from the food the decor is very beautiful. It is not tacky like the other restaurants in the valley. It is a restaurant for fine taste. Prices are reasonable and service has always been good. I would recommend this restaurant as it is my favorite!

Order via UberEats. The portions were quite bad. Each entree cost me about 16-17 dollars. I ordered chicken curry among other entrees. None of them had any flavors whatsoever. They didnt even give me enough rice with my entrees. The rice which was provided was dry and seemed like leftover rice which was microwaved. And the rice came in a small Chinese box (the one u get from a Chinese restaurant when u order a small side of rice). Thats what I received for an order of 70 dollars. Never again will I give this restaurant another shot. Be aware folks.

I love the atmosphere, the convenience of the location off the Civic Center and the library. The staff are attentive but never rush me through my meal. The fare offers single plate with a wide variety of Indian food for a low $11.00 (approximate) price. Ive only eaten there at lunch following a visit to the library or any of the great Sunday music programs. I personally like to sit in a quiet indoor corner with an Audible book on my Droid. If youre in the area and like authentic Indian food, this is your place.

Definitely our favorite Indian restaurant in the Phoenix area. Everything we have ordered is really good. They are a little more expensive than most, but the atmosphere is pleasant and when the weather is nice, it is lovely to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the activity and the view of Scottsdale Center for the Arts and the green area. Tried a few other places, but keep coming back for their curry and Masala.

I love Indian food, and definitely know how to tell a quality place. This place is definitely a quality place. The portions are really great, the proportion of curry, chick and vegetables are perfect, the spice was perfect, I dont have a complaint about this place. This has been one of the best Indian places I have gone to, and I intend on coming back again

Went for lunch and made a picnic out of it. Nice park in the area. Onion kulcha- Not bad but the dough was not cooked throughly so a little gooey. Garlic naan- Pretty good. The kabob platter with shrimp, chicken and goat(lamb?) and shish kabob- Nasty the spices were all wrong. Had to throw away and I absolutely hate throwing away meat.

Delicious muttar paneer and saag paneer (which is what i always order). Also, friendly staff, including one of the best waiters Ive ever had. Hes friendly, funny, knowledgeable, attentive. Good beer selection. Averagely priced. The inside has good ambiance, is clean and exotic. I like that you can eat outside as well if you choose.

Wow, it was like taking a trip to India on my lunch hour. The food was served in little metal trays called Tali, and was deliciously delectable. The service was outstanding, and I felt like a queen. I cant wait to bring my friends. I am grateful to have stumbled on this great find. I highly recommend you check it out.

My family and I have been frequenting this restaurant in its various locations for over 25 years. It is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Valley. We especially love the vegetable pakoras, the Malai Kofta, and the Daal Maharani, and the pistachio kulfi is awesome! Highly recommend.

I was there for a take out and I ordered Malai Kofta which was pretty great. The service was really fast, they packed my order within 10min from ordering. The receptionist was pretty great, gave me a lot of information regarding places to visit nearby.

Beware of this place. 1. Food is ok. 2. These are cheaters. They gave wrong bill never said sorry for mess up. Even after correcting they are charging for the food we didnt order and arguing try that we had food. Avoid this place.

Jewel of the Crown has been in the valley for close to 30 years. Indian restaurants have come and gone but Jewel continues to shine brightly. It is the best and the most authentic Indian Cuisine in the Valley of the sun!!!

Food is great. Portions are too small, service was horrible, price was a bit high, and why do Indian restaurants always only use soda cans? They insist on charging for refills, lets introduce them to soda fountains.
