Though I have a brother who for years has claimed that "Indian" food is his favorite type of food.....I, myself, have never felt that Indian food was my shtyle (or even my shtick). Admittedly, until very recently visiting the Bombay house, I had never had hardly any experience with "Indian" food... That being said, on a whim, I very recently decided to give a full-bird authentic Indian restaurant a whirl: The Bombay House. The interior of this restaurant consists mostly of booths -giving patrons a more private experience- along with a few tables as well. There are very nice, authentic Indian paintings and murals on the wall...otherwise the interior is not overtly-ornamented....but the ambience is very inviting and nice. Nearly all the employees I saw looked very authentically "Indian"...and were authentically-garbed with several men even donning make-shift turbins. The variety of utensils and dishes that were set upon the table were likewise all very authentic and stylish in appearance. The Indian coffee and mango drink which I ordered were superbly-flavored and very authentic -probably the best coffee and fruit drink I have EVER ordered in any restaurant. I only wish that they were slightly bigger for the price paid. The curry lamb and rice, which I ordered, were likewise very authetic and perfectly cooked. I wish that it had come with complimentary naan bread -which I had to pay extra for instead. Not surprisingly, the garlic naan bread was also superbly flavored, wonderfully-textured and perfectly-cooked. Finally, the rice pudding which I ordered was also absolutely superbly-flavored and authentic. No less than 4 different waiters frequently passed by my booth while I dined at Bombay House -always checking up on me to ensure that everything was okay. Though I still cant claim that "Indian food" is particularly my shtyle more so than other kinds of ethnic cuisine...the Bombay House is an awesome and truly authentic restaurant, with very reasonable prices, that I highly-recommend and would definitely like to visit sometime again.

My family has been going to Bombay House for over 2 yrs now and this has been consistently our favorite restaurant out of any style restaurant by far. The food is AMAZING. I love the quality, the flavor profile, and the consistency of good service. Even my 3 yr old son (a finicky eater) absolutely loves this food. There was only 1 time in the entire time that there was an error made with our order (wrong type of naan) and they fixed it immediately. Honestly, I trust the service enough that I couldve very well ordered the wrong type of naan. We order take out just as often as we eat there and its still consistently amazing. Ive loved this style of food for so long. Weve tried pretty close to every other Indian restaurant from Salt Lake to Payson and nothing compares in my opinion. We absolutely love the Tikka Masala and my family couldnt survive without the Bombay House Tikka Masala. I could eat this every day. The customer service is perfect. The most important thing to my family when we find a really good restaurant is the consistency of quality food with that perfect flavor profile and this is a place we will return to no matter what. Ive experienced long wait times occasionally just like anyone else but Ive also seen how busy they were when this happened and it was still worth the wait.

This is a hard review to write because 3 or 4 years ago Bombay House would have gotten a "best ever" review from me. Bombay House was hands down my favorite restaurant in Utah county and a tradition for celebratory events (anniversarys, graduations, etc.) in my family. I dont know exactly what happened, but things have changed. The wait staff is different now and the food quality seems to have gone down a bit. I have a theory that the change coincided with the opening of India Palace on center street. My speculation is that there was either a split within the company, or that someone did some aggressive recruiting and so the more talented chefs and some of the wait staff went to India Palace, leaving Bombay House diminished. To support my theory, I recognize some of the staff at India Palace as former Bombay House staff. So, Bombay House still has the amazing atmosphere and high prices, but the service and food quality have both declined somewhat. It is still a great restaurant, but at this point its a harder sale. Practical tip: order takeout well in advance, it takes a long time

My wife and i were undecided what Indian restaurant we should go to because we dont eat Indian often. The reviews said the food at Bombay House was worth the money, but the service needed improvement. Ive got to say the service and the food were fantastic. We went in at 6:00 pm on Saturday night with our 19 month old daughter. Our waiter was very attentive. There were two or three other employees that checked on us throughout the meal as well. They were especially good with our little girl who was being a menace. The food was AMAZING! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and my wife ordered the Chicken Curry. They were both filled with the most incredible flavor. I even tried their Rose Milk which was different than anything i have ever had, but not bad at all. I cant wait to go back and try some of the other recommendations they had.

I would die for this restaraunt. It is by far the best indian food Ive ever eaten. If I had to choose what everything tasted like for the rest of my life it would be something from the menu of this restaraunt. I travel a lot and every city I visit, I make sure to try at least one indian food place. Bombay House takes the cake. When I die I want to be covered in curry from the Bombay House. You will not be let down once you try the food here. One thing I am disappointed in is that the prices have increased recently. The portions remained the same which in my opinion are very generous and easily shared by two, but I really think with the amount of business that they get they could help a brother out. On the other hand, I must say that I would gladly give them my first born child for some Chicken Tikka Masala. Nummy nummy get in my tummy.

I love Bombay House and have had many great experiences here, however, tonight was below par based on a horrible customer service experience. My friends and I rarely see each other but once a month, and got together to enjoy a good meal and each others company. We ate our food pretty fast, and had our plates cleared before some of us were even finished. Needless to say, we felt rushed. The real kicker was when our server blatantly asked us to leave because a customer with a reservation was waiting. I have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant, especially when the time we had been there was completely acceptable. I have even worked as a server for years, and would never ask a customer to leave. I believe this is Websters Dictionary definition of "rude" and for this reason, I will not eat at any Bombay House again.

We live in Alpine, UT but we regularly make the drive up to Salt Lake to visit the Bombay House. We LOVE the service. We always try to get our favorite server as he is both really helpful and very engaging/funny. Hes also great at knowing what to recommend as we like to try as much of the menu as possible. We have young kids that can be a bit picky and they all love Bombay House and get excited to go there. The quality of experience matches the quality of the food as we feel like family when we go there. We maybe make it once every few months, but they always recognize us and make us feel like honored guests. Id strongly recommend this place to couples looking for a night out or families looking for a great experience.
