Dined in with my longtime partner. The Friday night waiter had NO regard that I was actually there and CONTINUOUSLY sexually harassed my partner and was discriminating against me. He never once looked at me or asked what I wanted. He literally treated me like I wasnt there. He hit on my partner multiple times by telling her that she was beautiful, that he could fall in love with her and some other pretty grotesque things that I will not say. This was after the fact that I told him our check was together because we were in a relationship and NOT "just friends" (he asked). He made her feel so uncomfortable and also they did not honor an online coupon that I found because they didnt have a scanner to scan the barcode with. Why have a coupon that you cant even redeem without a print out (which does not say it HAS to be printed). Horrible staff and horrible food. Stick with the Indian food that you know and like, This place was so awful. PLEASE read my full review on YELP since it didnt fit on here. Same date.

I had high hopes for this place based on previous reviews, but I was quite disappointed in the taste of the food I received. I ordered an Onion Kulcha, which was good, a Peshwari Naan, also good, but maybe too much honey, a mango lassi that was too sweet, a strawberry lassi that tasted funny and had yogurt chunks in it, paneer masala that was so flavorless I threw it away, and saag aloo, which was the only saving grace to the meal. Maybe I went on the wrong day where the good cook was out? I went last night, a Thursday. I was also dismayed that my takeout order came out much later than another patrons who came in after me even when the place was almost empty at 8:00 PM. Maybe they cater to those who eat in? Unfortunately I have to say that I will not be going back, I cant throw away $15 worth of food and justify the risk of doing it all over again.

Three stars for a basic, good lunch but lacking in service. Went here recently for the first time for the weekend lunch buffet. I really liked the atmosphere- very homey and quiet and dated in a charming way. Buffet was quite limited- I was surprised by the lack of variety compared to other buffets Ive been to. But all the food was good, and I especially loved their thick, almost Tzatziki-style raita. They also bring you out fresh naan as part of the buffet price. Only detractor was the service. The woman greeting and bringing naan made me feel like I was irritating her soul by coming in the restaurant and asking for more naan. And I didnt like getting to temporarily smell chemicals while they generously sprayed a cloud of cleaner on tables next to me. In sum, I loved my peaceful, quiet meal and it was a basic buffet for a cheap price.

My husband and I LOVE Indian food! As an avid cook, I make Indian dishes at home on a regular basis, and we enjoy eating at Indian restaurants quite frequently. We decided to give Taste of Punjab a try awhile back & we were absolutely delighted! The food is mouth-watering, cooked to perfection, and the portions and price are excellent. Id particularly recommend the chicken coconut korma and chicken tikka masala - both the best Ive ever had! Many people in Utah County (where we live) love the Bombay House in Provo. Bombay is good... But Taste of Punjab is far superior!! (Definitely worth the drive up to Sandy). :) Also, we have been there 4 times for dinner, and each time we were seated and served very promptly. Im miffed as to the service problems people have encountered before.

***I am a recent convert to Indian Food, and I have never traveled to India and my knowledge of their culture is severely lacking.*** After eating here 20+ times over the last few years (Dinner only), I will finally write a long-overdue positive review. I have been to numerous Indian Food restaurants all over Salt Lake and Utah counties, and this place is by far my favorite. My favorite dishes here are the Chicken Tikka Masala, the Shrimp Coconut Korma, and the Butter Chicken. You MUST get the Garlic Naan to accompany the meal. The Mango Chicken and Saag Paneer are also delicious. If you have a little extra $, get a Mango Lassi as well. I crave these dishes all of the time, and I get angry when I go somewhere else and the food doesnt stack up to Taste of Punjab. Please do give it a try!

Absolutely the finest in Utah! We are huge Indian food fans, and have tried every Indian restaurant in town, as well as cities literally around the nation and in England. Hands down, this is the best Indian food in Utah. Order the Chicken Coconut Korma and a Biryani and you will be in heaven! Their samosas are the best. Their chutneys are the best. Their naan is delicious. Great eat-in atmosphere, but also great for take-out. The lunch buffet is the best one in town (albeit more mild than what we usually order off of the menu). Service is always polite, friendly and accurate, but can be a bit slow if you are a large party and the restaurant is full, as it is always essentially staffed with the same two men, and one of their wives. But even if you wait, it is worth it!

This is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the Salt Lake area. The food is a colorful exploration of palatable pleasure and never allows me to walk away disappointed. We have moved to the Pacific Northwest as of late and I have yet to find a comparable buffet in the greater Portland area. Like the food, the staff is warm and inviting. Most restaurants that have exceptional ratings for dinner items, seem to lack the same quality for their lunch buffets, but not at Taste of Punjab. High quality food and attention to detail are complimented by outstanding service. Taste of Punjab makes clients feel like they have stepped out of Utah and been transported straight into the culinary heart of north-western India.

Didnt know Taste of Punjab was gone and this is there now. Looks like it has changed hands several times rather quickly, as the sign over the door days Wah Indian, and a sign ON the door says Bhutan, and Google is telling me its Taj. Some of the buffet food was cold (and wasnt supposed to be). Kheer is oddly chunky and tastes more just like rice in milk than a pudding. Chicken coconut korma was pretty decent but thats about all I have nice to say. Cashier couldnt make change, or do simple math. Nobody brought water for several minutes after having been seated, filled my plate, and sat down again. Dont waste your time or money on lunch here. If you can make it down to India Palace or Saffron Valley, do it.

Very disappointed with the quality of the food. I got the Butter Chicken with Naan bread up here at the University Hospital cafeteria (Taste of Punjab caters here on Wednesdays). Honestly, the rice tasted like overcooked minute rice, the butter chicken was bland and looked watered down (compared to other butter chicken dishes I have had elsewhere), and the naan bread tasted like a cold grocery store tortilla. The whole dish tasted stale and old. I dont know if they just dont really try or care when it comes to catering up here, but this was probably the worst Indian food experience I have ever had.
