Had my first experience at Helton on July 19th. Three primary factors shaped my experience: 1. Cheese. 5 stars all the way. Good selection of different styles of cheese. I had the cheese and beer pairing which at $5 (for a pint and about 3oz of cheese) is a great deal. 2. Beer. 3.5-4 stars. I had the Pilsner to start. It was pretty solid - a 4 star. I then had the IPA with my cheese pairing. I would give it about 3.5 stars. It wasnt super bitter (which is good for me) but it didnt really pop. The aroma and flavor hops were a bit muted for my taste. 3. Seating. 0 stars. Not to be crude but the chairs at Helton are bullsh*t. Im not a super big guy and my butt did not fit comfortably in the seat. Also, they have these holes that your butt bone gets caught in. If there was a foot rail round the bar or something maybe I would have been more comfortable but as it was I felt like I was sliding out of my seat the whole time I was there. I have discussed my seat displeasure with a couple of co-workers who have also been to Helton and the consensus is these chairs suck. I could have hung out and had a few more drinks during my visit but I literally couldnt sit at the bar any longer. Hopefully when the beer garden opens up there will be other options available.

I drive by Helton every day as Im coming and going from my neighborhood and have visited numerous times. The staff is fantastic and recognized me on my second visit. Ive tried a sampler flight and my favorite by far was their nitro milk stout. The pilsner was another favorite. On my last visit I ordered a build your own cheese plate and tasty and filling. They recently added more space to hang out and that area is a great addition to the bar area. They have events every month and Im excited to try their beer tasting class one of these days. Great place to meet up with friends or stop in for a growler fill on your way home!

Like the owner and understand why we talked. I actually liked coming there and had been promoting this place online. I am removing my social media marketing items. I wont promote this place in the future or spend my money there. I am a neighborhood patron and what occurred is why I am posting due to my pondering last night that people are more offended by cuss words than actual real life atrocities.

Love all the beer and cheese options, but as others have said, the chairs are awful. So uncomfortable, and no foot rail at the bar. I would love to stay longer, but the chairs just kill it. Im not a small girl, but not large either, and I just feel like Im falling off. Otherwise I love this place, and in my hood!

Love this new brewery in central Phoenix. The owner and staff are very friendly people and love what they do. The beer is excellent and the taproom is inviting. On top of that they have a selection of artisan cheeses and meats to accompany the beer and on Tuesdays they have a $5 beer and cheese special.

I had been waiting for Helton to open for a year or more... Was SO happy when they did. Got the chance to meet Mr. Helton and am obsessed with trying all their new beers. The vibe here is great, too. Come in, order a flight and enjoy one of the best new breweries in Valley. Cheers!

Good food that areunique options. Good beer. Service was bad but we were told at the end they were shorthanded so trying to excuse and not give less stars. Extremely uncomfortable seating but nice atmosphere and cool looking patio/garage that might be nice in cooler weather

Incredible people. Incredible experience. Incredible food. Incredible atmosphere. If you like to hang out with your friends, have fun and drink a bit, you need to add Helton Brewing to your regular visit lust list.

Excellent brews. Good food. Great atmosphere. And they have this giant wheel of cheese and a special heat lamp, and they will melt the cheese before your eyes and scrap it on top of your meal....... amazing.

Helton is a cheese shop and brewery with great selections of both. On Tuesday nights they do a well thought out "pint of beer and cheese pairing" special for $5 (less than the cost of a normal pint!)

Pretty good beers. Very good meats and cheeses. Great service. Only critique is that the chairs are very uncomfortable and they need to work on their air conditioning. It was pretty hot.
