This place has certainly gone way downhill. We were greeted by an eye rolling (literally) young woman. We waited briefly for a table, but then sat at that table for at least 15 minutes before being greeted by a server who wasnt even supposed to be ours. Tyler, our server, was outstanding. Otherwise, this whole lunch experience was awful. We waited 45 minutes for food when finally we asked to speak to a manager. The manager, Kevin, came over, finally, with our food. We expressed our frustration with the eye rolling and the 45 minute wait for food. He blamed the new hostess saying, "She flooded the restaurant with tables." And, " She doesnt know how to deal with stress." Next he offered us a free round or dessert. We declined as our one beer lunch can had amorphed into a 2 beer lunch already because of the wait. Kevin was sarcastic and condescending, and I almost died when he blamed the 19 or 20 year old hostess for all of the problems. When Kevin left our table, after not apologizing, we began eating and then realized our food was ice cold. I sent back the potato skins I ordered and asked Tyler to nuke my soup. When we received the bill, we were quite shocked to see nothing beside the skins I had sent back wad removed from our bill. We paid our bill and way overtipped Tyler because he was great. At the end of our lunch, a random server had the audacity to come over to our table and sarcastically say, " You ladies should come on A Monday. Its a lot less busy." As if complaining about waiting for 45 minutes is okay in any situation. This place is a mess and we will lot be returning. Terrible.

Awesome place, killer staff, fantastic food. Ive worked there on two separate occasions, and even enjoyed not being a customer. Staff is uniquely trained and knowledgeable about their expansive whiskey selection, and several have been working there over 10 years. The bar fixtures and furniture were all imported from Ireland and are super homey. Trivia nights always draw a dedicated crowd, and the patio is lovely when its not hellaciously hot (they are diligent with the misters and giant umbrellas, but hey, its Arizona). All the hot-selling items are delicious, but my faves have to be the Fish and Chips (I crave this fish now that I no longer live in the Tempe area...no other fried fish Ive had comes close) and the Bangers n Mash (that gravy, my lord...I could bathe in it). Ive had many a good (and weird/wild?) night here. Grab a cigar, some whiskey, catch some good musical performances, and dont skip St. Pattys Day.

Wow, was here on St Patrick s day 2017. Thought I would take my wife for a nice lunch on St Patrick s day. Was a bit surprised to find we had to pay 5dollars at the door. Thought it might be for entertainment. Upon entering found a very limited menu along with plastic cutlery and drink glasses. No one should have to drink out of a plastic glass. I have been to many places around the world for March 17th. I have never seen such a cheap display of hospitality. Hire an extra dish washer, hire a couple more waiters. Never did see any entertainment for the lunch crowd. St. Pats is not intended to be a money grab, save your money and next time go to Rosies.

When I arrived, I was amazed with the atmosphere. I truly felt like I was in an authentic Irish establishment. That was really great to escape the stressful day I had. When I looked at the menu, I saw a great variety of choices. Ultimately, I went a classic: the shepherds pie! The pie was absolutely amazing and generously portioned (to the point that I was able to bring a full-sized portion home for leftovers the next day). In addition, the staff did a great job accommodating for my desire to not have dairy with my meal. The price was very reasonable considering the quality, service, portion and atmosphere I received. Highly recommend!

I almost never order good and chips because it almost always sucks. Here though is another story. The fish was tender and flavourful, the batter was crisp and thin. Chips were actually what Id call home fries, disks instead of frys. But hey that held the malt vinegar better so good for me. I actually ordered the Sheppards pie. That was also about the best Ive had. Not much to really say about it, been stew covered in mashed potatoes. The gravy was good but no detectable herbs same thing with the rest I kinda like more things going on. Still excellent execution of what it was trying to be. Defiantly coming back

I lived in Ireland and Europe the past 12 years and moved with my European wife to Phoenix 3 years ago. It has been a challenge finding food of European quality and/or proper Irish food. We have found it at Rúla Búla. The menu is very Irish, the Seafood is as good if not better than anywhere we have eaten in Arizona, the quality of all the food is superior and the wait staff and management provide Irish hospitality even though they might not be Irish. This is now our go to restaurant when family and friends visit or we want to be guaranteed a great meal at a good price. Brendan and Slavica Bishop

Lunch was wonderful. Plenty of seating and easy entrance from Mill Ave. Light Rail Is the best way to get in no worries about parking. Restrooms clean and large. Food quality for price was excellent. Fish was fresh and moist while batter was thin and did not take away from fish flavour. Also tried Shepards pie meat version w/cheese. It was great with Brussel sprouts. Also tried fish E/ shrimp - also great. Drank Cider not beer this time - a good choice very light. Noisy, fun and active- typical Irish pub you would find in Ireland. Great lunch place.

Wonderful atmosphere. I wanted to give this 5 stars, and I would have, except for the price discrepancies. Our bill showed higher prices than both our drink and our meal. They did fix it for us, but sadly I heard the waitress complaining to a manager as I went by behind her to use the bathroom about us inquiring about the price discrepancies. Its not the customers fault that your prices are wrong and we are calling you on it. But honestly the fish n chips were superb and we will definitely be back next time we are I town to try the bangers and mash.

Kevin Hearne is right Rula Bula does serve the BEST Fish and Chips in the State. Found out about this place reading the Iron Druid Series of books written by Kevin Hearne. Was shocked and amazed when I looked it up and found it really existed. While I was eating at one of the booths I had to make sure there was not an invisible dog hiding under the table. Great atmosphere with good food and drink. Before paying for parking go inside to get your two hour free parking code. I will be visiting this place again with the family.

Ah, memories... I walked in at 11:59PM and at the stroke of 12, had my first legal beer. While I only had time for 1, because we were doing the power hour on mill (I lasted 45 minutes, but kept going after a quick.... well... never-mind), I came away with a good impression. The atmosphere is very irish, as it should be, and the beer was great. I didnt try the food, nor did I pay, so I cant speak on cost or food quality. I wanna head back now and give them another go... especially their shepherds pie.
