Took my best friend for her BDay dinner to Christophers and Crush Lounge. The food was very good, but the service afterwards was horrible. We went on 2/24/17 and our bill was $130. We were told by the server that because it was her Bday he would bring her the Chocolate Tower Desert, only to receive the bill to see that we were charged the $10 desert. When asked about it, he acted like it was our misunderstanding. On 2.27.17 I noticed there was the $130 charge from my account and an additional $370 erroneous charge. I called Christophers Crush and Lounge and was told I would have to speak to Doug the Manager who would call me back in 10 minutes. An hour later I called Christophers again and was told by Doug he would call me back as soon as he could get to his computer. Two hours later I went to Christophers and Crush Lounge after work and Christopher, the Chef and Co-Owner, came out only to be very snide and argue with me that the charge did not go through my account, although I explained to him that both charges had already been deducted from my account. Doug then came out to argue with me that he had called me as well as promised, when he had not. Had he called I wouldnt have gone to the restaurant. I was told to check back the next day to see if the charge had been returned to my account. I then left and called my bank, of which verified that both charges had been put against my account, but that the restaurant had recently input to have the $370 reversed, but that it would take 3-15 days to see credited back to my account. About 15 minutes later a lady with a strong accent calls me to argue, once again that the charges NEVER hit my account. I explained to her what my bank had told me and she continued to argue with me and have the nerve to ask me if all of the money I had in my account was the $370, of which I told her my bank account balance is not her concern. She then apologized for being rude and continued to cut me off during the conversation and state that I had an attitude and that my bank was wrong, even after I explained to her that both charges cleared my account. I explained my situation to her again, and she then proceeded to tell me that she had just driven 30 minutes from her home to the restaurant to handle my concern, but that she was certain that Doug called me back. How would she know that he called me back, if she wasnt at the restaurant??? The staff is very rude and condescending and I would never go to or recommend this place. I paid a very nice bill for 2 and did not receive comparable service or understanding. If they had only admitted their mistake and sincerely tried to make it better, I wouldve understood as mistakes do happen, but to treat me the way they did after their $370 mistake was absurd. Ive been treated better at the McDonalds Drive Through

Pretty Good! From the top: We didnt care for the drinks with Aperol in them - too bitter. In fact it seems that bitter describes a number of drinks on the drink menu. Good wines though. Wild Mushroom soup with Foie Gras was amazing!! Truffle Frites were just ok. The Gruyere mash and the Au Gratin potatoes were the perfect sides for our beef. Hanger steak with shallots was much better than the much higher priced Filet with its micro-hint of truffle dust(dont eat the garnish unless you like potato ashes:-). The sauces served with the steaks were just ok, there was red wine, bernaise, and peppercorn which was the best though not really needed. Desserts!!!! Warm berry tart with scoop of vanilla was awesome! Fillo like pastry layers made it unlike any "tart" I have had before but it was crispy and flaky with a generous amount of berries. Ask for details on dessert menu - we realized this when we started wishing we ordered the souffles our neighboring table had but the dessert menu just has the generic term "Souffles" and our waiter didnt expound on anything unless we specifically asked. Actually, I think much of the menus could use more descriptions. It looks like happy hour would be a good deal for more affordable options. We found the service decent but we were there on a Monday night and the dining room was pretty empty. The only waiter was training a newby who didnt seem to have any waiting experience. The C144 chefs table overlooks the kitchen and looks like it would be fun for a group tasting.

Went to Christophers tonight with my boyfriend, we made reservations for 7:30. We got there on time and waited 45 minutes before anyone but the worker pouring water gave us any attention. Our server finally got to us, he wasnt very personable and seemed annoyed to have to serve us. He took our drink order and we waited another 10 minutes to get that. He dropped off the drink and walked away before we could order our food. Another few minutes pass before he gets back to us to take our order. The food was very good, we had the chuck and brisket burger and the risotto of the day. We planned to get desert but because of the bad vibes from the server and the wait, we decided not to. We got the check and the server said "OK, see you guys next week, oh wait two weeks from now.. I understand." Im not sure if thats because we are young people dressed in jean jackets and backwards hats or because he was trying to be funny. We obviously werent their usual crowd and I didnt care for that comment. The food was good but I would not go back because the service is mediocre at best.

Christophers is a truly excellent food experience at a price consistent with the chain restaurants that dominate the locale. Using the best ingredients for the season, the Chef always makes a great pairing and provides a sophisticated staff that can suggest excellent advice for your particular taste. From the burger to the foie (never pass on the eco friendly and ocean fresh diver scallops when available), Christopers is in a class of its own in Phoenix and should not be missed by any true foody. Unpretentious and friendly, its a great place to learn about food- sit at the bar and talk directly with the Chef for a custom experience. And, they are very family friendly too (we go with our 9-yr old). World class food right here in Phoenix- imagine that!

Very odd encounter with snobbish "host". Seats were 95% empty at the time we left without eating at 3 pm on a Sunday, perhaps his attitude is one of the reasons. Never a good idea to refuse to make guests comfortable in an empty restaurant after they drive 45 minutes to get there in an extreme heat advisory. Petty and strange situation after previously positive dining experiences. Not sure we will go back. Not sure if they care ;-) Kind of a bummer because we have enjoyed Christophers so much in the past that our 14 year old son chose that restaurant to take me out as his special treat, which was a first. He wasnt happy with how the host spoke to me and wouldnt go back inside to try again.

So... I knew I would spend a lot of money going here, but I didnt know I would drop $100 for two people. We started with a blood sausage and foie gras pizza as an appetizer. It was good, but for the price (equal to a large size pizza at other gourmet restaurants), I expected more of the good meats I was paying for. My wife got a half lobster tail and arugula salad and was still hungry after. I got the nightly special, a very small amount of seafood stew, and was also left with a stomach rumble. The service was great, though! Our waiter broke out of the stiff shell that other diners expect out of wait staff at fancy French joints and joked with us. He was great.
