I cant give 1 1/2 stars, but one star would be unfair. The food was good but not much above average and certainly not as good as we expected. VERY expensive. The service was awful. Slow. Incomplete. Incompetent. We were there to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. The appetizers were very slow to our table. Our drinks almost beat the appetizers. My wife ordered the ahi tuna sushi dish as an appetizer which was probably the best dish we had. However, it was not served with soy sauce. Well, my beloved is 100% Japanese and soy sauce and wasabi are a must with sashimi and sushi. After several minutes I was able to wave our server down and ask for some soy sauce. Several minutes later I asked the fellow clearing the next table if he could oblige. He did almost immediately. A few minutes later our server showed up with the soy sauce at which time I reminded her that I was still waiting for my cup of chowder. Dinner was more of the same but not the value of the appetizers. My wifes Maine lobster came without shell crackers and crustacean eating utensils. After several minutes I was able to wave the server down and ask for them. Several minutes later as I was about to ask another server, here came our server and I again reminded her I had not received my chowder, which she brought within a couple minutes. After tasting it, I wished I had let her forget it. Not once were we asked if we would like another glass of wine (wife) or another beer (self) even though midway through dinner my empty bottle was removed and I was on on the last two fingers of beer and my honey was down to the last couple sips of her wine. Upshot: The service was so poor, I considered not leaving a tip. This particular server should consider a different line of work. Not because her tips will likely be marginal at best, but because she is ruining her customers experience. But thats not all. With the exception of the ahi tuna and oysters, the food quality was barely above average. Certainly not what quality I would expect for the price. We spent far too much money for food anyone can get at Red Lobster (I despise THAT place) for half the amount or less and just as good. We will not return.

My first experience with Bluewater grill was in Newport Beach, CA. We had been there while on vacation and they had the BEST clam chowder I have ever had. Ive had red, brown and white clam chowder. They have the white variation and it was phenomenal. So onto the Phoenix location. My wife and I were on our way over to Corleones and she had noticed the BlueWater Grill. I was under the impression it would be a knock off of the original as seafood isnt really too fresh in Arizona, but to my surprise I was corrected. I contacted the Bluewater Grill while I was at Corleones to see if they were the same restaurant, and Jose answered the phone. I asked him if they used the same recipe as the one in Newport and Jose advised me they do not, but stated he likes there chowder better. So I told Jose I was at Corleones and I would like to get a cup or bowl to go to see if his claims of the chowder being as good were true, as I had my doubts. Jose went above and beyond, he said since we had been to the same company in Newport, he would bring me a pint of chowder to see which one is better, at Corleones a few businesss down. Jose brought me a pint of chowder, a slice of sourdough and oyster crackers in a bag. I have never in my life experienced customer service on this level. The chowder is just as good if not better than the one in Newport. We will be going back this weekend to try the rest of the food, but if you like chowder, be sure to try it, you wont be disappointed. Thanks Jose, keep up the great work!

My girlfriend took me here for my birthday. I read some reviews before we came, so I had an idea of what to expect. Let me begin by saying that this restaurant seems like they want to be high end, and high class, but fall noticeably short in all categories. First off, the inside is not what Ive come to expect, walking into an expensive restaurant. The furnishings are nice, but not superb, and dont complement each other optimally. Its loud too, as the kitchen is open to the rest of the floor; I dont know if this is done intentionally to give a sort of chaotic vibe associated with fishing culture or is just the result of their location. The service is good and prompt for the most part, but seems somewhat...Amateurish, and again not what Ive come to expect from restaurants at this ones price point. Finally, as many have said, the servings are quite small, but thats not where my complaint lies with the food. I ordered the glazed salmon, and my girlfriend ordered some variant of tuna. I cannot speak for hers because Ive only had tuna a couple times in my life (though it tasted good to me), but my salmon, while overall above average, was the result of a chef relying on the glaze to cover up the imperfections of their cooking. So, while it was a good time, and a good restaurant, given the things I observed, I think every dish on their menu would be more justified at $8-$15 less than they currently are.

Went for the first time and was highly disappointed. Wanted to try something different and was not impressed. Ordered steak and lobster $44.00 plate. Lobster was not a lobster tail, its a lobster bake of some sort. That was delicious but the steak was awe fil. Ordered medium, came back well done. Ordered another, cook rolled his eyes and cooked another and came back super rare. the steak was also very fatty. Flavor was ok, but very chewy due to fat. Clam chowder was good. Boyfriend got shrimp and scallop skewers... You basically get 1 skewer of shrimp and 2 scallops on the side. Menu seems a little deceiving so ask questions when ordering. very over priced for what you get. Mediocre service and pretty warm inside. Some foods were good. Very hit and miss depending on what you get. Ill be going back to Papadeauxs for the prices we paid. Way better service, atmosphere, and food.

1st time here for a friends birthday atmosphere was ok but had a old musky feel to it. Steamed clams were good the baked crab dip tasted like artichoke dip could not taste any crab in it what so ever. Sushi was good. Ordered the scallops with pancetta not pleased at all for $14.50 you got 4 tiny little scallops a little bigger than bay scallops felt completely ripped off on those.. and as for there tiny fish market none of the fresh fish looked appetizing at all. Although I do work with FRESH seafood daily at a high end market I would not recommend buying fish fresh fish from here.. overall they brought out a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and raspberry driddle and a candle was pretty nice. Overall I will go back but more skeptical on what we order.

But I love this place. The happy hour is one of the best in town. I hit this place up a couple times a month with my friends. The sushi is always exceptionally fresh. My favorite is probably the Artichoke & Crab dip. Sometimes I will swing by the deli and pick up some of the smoked Albacore. Ive been going to this place since it was The Fish Market. Over the last few years under the Fish Market brand it seemed to get a bit stale but has since been given a new shot of life with the change to Bluewater. Only thing I can really knock is that I went here for St Pattys Day for their Guinness beer battered fish and chips (and cheap pints of Guinness) only to find bottles of Guinness instead of draft. The fish & chips were great, so it made up for it.
