I came here because I really liked this restuarant. However, my last visit was the worst experience ever. I invited a few friends to come try this place because I thought it was worth trying and boy did I make the wrong choice. When we walked in there were no hosts to great us so we waited for 10 min before anyone came to seat us. Meanwhile, we saw 5 staff members pass by and just stare at us. There were 2 girls at the take out side folding boxes talking to each other while we waited for someone to even greet us. When the hostess actually came out she took our name down and said the wait time is 15-20 mins. Only 7 mins passed and they were ready for us so we were delighted how quick it was. We were ready to drink and eat but 10-15 mins went by and no one came to the table to take our drink order. We started to get frustrated because we saw at least 4 servers pass us and go to the tables around us. Not one stopped to ask if we have been helped. After what felt like 20 mins we saw the host that sat us walk by, we stopped him to ask who our waiter was because we are ready to order and we havent gotten any drinks. The host apologizes and goes to the server in the room next to us and asks if she could take us. The waiter looks at us and starts to say its not her table and shes not closing. Eventually she agrees and comes to take our order. At this point my friend and I are livid. We tell the waiter we are waiting on two more friends and have been waiting over 20 mins for our drink order so we dont know if we are going to stay. The waiter walks away and Christina who was supposed to be our server finally comes to take our drink order. We order and she says she will be right back with our drinks. We wait another 7 mins and our two other friends arrive but still no drinks at our table. Another server stops by and ask if we been helped. We tell him Christina took our drink order but hasnt returned and at that minute she walks out. Not to bring us drinks but to sing happy birthday to the table next to us. We all turn to look at her and wonder why our drinks still arent here. At this point we all decide its been 30 mins too long for someone to bring us drinks. We all get up and leave. We left the restaurant at 8 pm!! We had been there for a whole hour and didnt even get someone to come bring us drinks!! Bucca de Pepo has lost 4 Nurses who were eager to try this place. Dont go here if you want to waste your whole evening waiting on someone to actually take your order! We went to Modern Round next door and had a blast! Food was delicious had 4 ppl greet us right away. Our Server brought our drinks and food all under 30 mins!

Terrible. I live 5 minutes away from this restaurant and been there twice since its opened. Tonight was the second and probably the last. Last time we went was when it opened, thought i would give it one more shot. Anyways, the hostess told us an hour wait, actually turned out to be an 30 minutes. All good, no problem. Got seated. Its a really strange awkward feeling I get sitting there. Half a dozen tables are empty. Makes you feel like something is wrong with the place. Our server, though a very nice guy, seemed like he was trying too hard to provide great service. Checked on us probably 10 times. For 2 people you do not need to check up on them so much. Ok no problem really. Now the food...BORING. We got the fried mozzarella appeitizer, the coating was bland, the marinara sauce was tasteless. Disappointing. Next we got the veal parmigiana. We ordered a large, they brought a small. So they made 2 more freshly prepared pieces. No big deal. Bad news, they tasted so uninspired. They brought the "freshly prepared" ones. They tasted worse, like card board. This place is Italian, have they heard of spices, oregano, basil, maybe Garlic? Bland food at best. This place needs a robert irving to get the place better. Next we got the bill, $70 for 2 people!!! Thats ridiculous. I could pay that for a higher end place , but for what you get its a terrible value. I dont get how corporate allows such a operation to continue to disappoint. We talked to the server about mothers day. He told us corporate is in charge of booking and that they were only allowing parties to stay for an hour an half for mothers day. I dont understand who would want to eat there anyways. I rather eat at oreganos or carabas, heck even Olive Garden and i dont even like Olive Garden.

I was looking forward to trying a new Italian restaurant and my wife and I ventured here. I found it odd that all the guests were seated right on top of each other during a slow time. We were all lined down the wall near the bar. The waitress was someone who clearly did not find her job appealing, inspiring, or something worthwhile. She slammed our glasses down on the table and did not fill my drink for the entire 90 minutes we were there. Once we covered the soggy, tasteless salad with cheese and pepper, it gave it some flavor and made it edible. It tasted like watered down onions and something pre-made and left in the cooler all night. The bread was cold and not even cut. It took 60 minutes for our entree to arrive. I have eaten in italian restaurants all over the country and this was the first a chicken parmesan dish did not come with any pasta whatsoever. I asked our humorless waitress about the lack of pasta and perhaps, after waiting for a battered chicken breast for an hour, that the pasta was left in the kitchen. Her response about pasta with the dish? "NO. NEVER. Do you want to order some pasta?" A shocking lack of people skills when you can see how irritated the customers at the tables around us were. One group was there for 20 minutes and had to the yell out for service. Terrible experience. Service did not even rate a zero. The chicken was actually good, but cmon. Much better choices for italian in the valley than to waste 90 minutes in this restaurant.

Let me just start by saying I frequented this restaurant years ago and would have at that time said it was one of my favorites. This visit however, was not so great. When we arrived, the hostess was very friendly and seated us right away, from that moment on it only went down hill. Our waiter came over shortly after we were seated and appeared to be in a hurry even though the restaurant was fairly slow. He took our drink order along with our appetizer order, about 15 min went by, he arrived with our drinks, after bringing our drinks and taking our entree order we didnt see him at our table again for 45 min. we did however, see him wondering about with another server chatting, at another table chatting,someone else came over and brought some bread for the table. our waiter came by looked at our empty drink glasses, asked if we wanted a refill, and never came back with it. Finally we got our meal, cold, no seasoning and very disappointing appearance. Unfortunately, I had guests with me that I had told how great this restaurant was.Embarrassing to say the least. Dont waist your money at this restaurant. Try a different Buca or go to another restaurant all together. THIS PLACE HAS REALLY GONE DOWN HILL.
