Massive compliments to their sommelier for the wonderful wine selection. Ambiance is also really lovely. Service is good not great because the server did not really go out of her way to explain what is a pretty unique menu for a Salt Lake restaurant. Foccacia was dry and didnt have the herbaceous fragrance most foccacia has. We did like the polenta and mushrooms which has lovely tender sweet mushrooms as well as the fritto misto which wasnt over-breaded which tends to happen with that dish and had a nice sweet subtle bite of lemon. Our dinner however was not good at all. The Farafalle pasta was fresh and cooked well but the dish severely lacked sweet creaminess and the lobster was not fresh (mushy and a dull gray in color). Dish as a whole was one note of overwhelming saltiness. They also completely butchered one of my favorite dishes: seafood cioppino. It tasted like tomato soup. The herbs and tomato completely overwhelmed any hint of a normally wonderful wine and fish stock base that is standard. The salmon was prepared and cooked well in addition to the clams but everything else was over done or not fresh (calamari literally melted to mush in my mouth). Dish also lacked a nice crusty bread which is traditionally served with cioppino. Neither of the dishes were well balanced in flavor. Dont put seafood on a menu if your chef doesnt know how to treat it with dignity though I am hoping to give Stanza another chance on the rest of the menu at some point.

My husband and I dined here last night. Convenient parking, beautiful building, professional but fun, friendly staff, creative and delicious menu and lovely wine and cocktail choices. I recommend Stanza for date nights, girls night, business meals, celebrations - every occasion. It is so versatile and has the space to accommodate all party sizes.

If you want housemade pasta, well-crafted small plates and a rad atmosphere, you need to head to Stanza. Everything was excellent from the bucatini carbonara to the cream of broccoli soup. Oh! And the strawberry balsamic gelato was a revelation! We will definitely be back. So many awesome things on the menu and I want to try them all!

The only part of the experience I was impressed by was the service. Two of the five members of my party found the food inedible. We left a 40% tip on the table and were later charged an additional 30% tip without warning. Overall I wound up disappointed and taken advantage of

For the price I was disappointed. We went there on New Years Eve so I understand that they were busy, however, if youre going to charge $200 for a meal and drinks for two then there is a basic quality level you would expect that the food and service didnt live up to.

Very upscale. Very expensive. Good food but small portions. Take someone here to impress them, but I dont quite see the value. Great staff and exemplary bar staff, but again, when I see that a great meal is $40-$60 per person, I get a little butt-hurt.

The sommelier was amazing the duck divine. Our wait staff attentive without interrupting. The 3 stars for food is because the gnocchi was salty. The dessert, and antipasto were great. The wine list comprehensive. Will definitely go back!

Visited on a quiet, late Thursday and was treated with excellent service. I recommend arriving early and have a glass of wine at the bar. The bartender is knowledgeful and friendly, ask him about the wine selection!

The menu varies, and unfortunately so does the quality. Been here 4 times and 2 outta 4 were very good, the other 2 were meh. Too expensive too be meh. There are better Italian options that are more consistent.
