I was excited to try the Grotto, but the customer service was so bad that I will never go there again. There were 3 employees behind the counter that were not busy. Not one of them acknowledged us when we walked in. We got in line behind one person. While we waited in line, one of the employees tried to take the order of a woman who came in after us. She was polite enough to decline his offer and wait her turn. All 3 employees were rude and unfriendly. I have worked in the service industry for over 10 years, so I have seen both sides of the "counter". The service I received was unacceptable. Too bad because the place looks pretty cool. Hopefully they can improve the customer service skills of their employees.

This is a great coffee shop. They have a wide variety of seating, outside in the sun, inside on a comfy couch or at a table. Its easy to sit and chat with friends or whip out the laptop and get some work done. Be aware that it gets very busy during AZ bike week, but otherwise its a pretty relaxed atmosphere. The coffee is more than decent and the Grotto Bowl is really delicious.

Fantastic, local spot! Casual dining, with great breakfast and/or lunch... Their bacon is the best! Fun atmosphere with outside dining wrapped in mature Sonoran Desert landscape with plenty of umbrella-tables or dine inside... where the table you are eating at, may also be for "sale". Pets are welcome on the outside patios.

Great cafe, love the atmosphere it has a vintage eclectic feel. Great food: sandwiches, paints and salads with healthy options. You can get coffee and a sweet treat or bar drinks.love to come here nice staff and great seating indoors and outdoors.

Im there every weekend. I Drive 20 miles from Scottsdale to get coffee from here because customer service is so great. Cool location and super sweet waitstaff and management. Definitely my kind of place.

What a great place for breakfast, havent had their lunch yet but I would think it is just as good. Lots of nostalgia and tucked away in a great spot. I love their chorizo bowl with fresh cut avocado!
