I had breakfast at Sunrise Cafe this morning and it was one of the worst dine out experiences I have ever had. I was pleasantly surprised to only wait around 5 minutes for a table but then the visit went straight down hill. We ordered our drinks and then waited around 10 minutes for the waiter to come back and get our order. We ordered and while we waited the flies were so bad we could not even enjoy each others company. The food was dropped off and never once got asked how everything was. I ordered french toast with sausage and my sausage was ice cold. The french toast tasted like bread with egg. It was so bland that I was going to ask for a side of cinnamon and powdered sugar to give it some flavor. However, I never had the chance to ask because two flies landed in the syrup and died on my plate. The server only returned after our drinks had been empty for a few minutes to drop off the check then said "oh, did you guys want some refills?" We declined just wanted to get out of there. Food was barely eaten and dead flies were on the plate yet we never were even asked how ANYTHING was! Super disappointed it what could be a great Mom and Pop Breakfast location.

I would have given 4 stars because the French Toast wasnt too bad (though my husbands is far better). I requested to return my ground sirloin because it was tasteless, fell apart and overall looked like road kill, I wanted to get it exchanged with the French Toast. They said it was an expensive dish and that they couldnt exchange or refund. First restaurant to ever do that to me. Must not be doing to well if youre going to charge your customers a dish they only took one bite out of. Ridiculous. Oh and within the first 2 minutes of my husband and I arriving they said "We hope you come back" then the woman (owner) scoffed. This is why we wont be coming back. EVER! I will drive in town and go to Cracker Barrel and get their breakfast. They, make an amazing breakfast if youre looking for that mom and pop feel.

Inconsistent food quality, sometimes its great, other times you end up with onions in your pancakes and badly burned bacon that tastes of other foods. I think their problems might be solved if they just cleaned their Grill more often. But they dont want to hear your feedback. Service is so so. The hostesses seem super busy and never have much nice to say, and the servers are just okay, neither polite nor impolite. The facilities are a bit cramped, somewhat comfy, and seem clean enough. I very rarely had dirty cutlery or drinking glasses. The bathroom was always clean. Prices are not the best and theres usually a wait, but the omelets are great and they have a pretty good variety of food.

We wanted to try a new bfast spot in Maricopa and decided to try sunrise cafe,the iced coffee was the best thing,me and my husband ordered on the border breakfast,he had the Mexican scramble with rice and beans and I had the chorizo scramble with rice and beans,we did not like the food what so ever it wasnt what we were expecting,the rice and beans tasted old the side of salsa was tangy and the small dipping sour cream on the plate wasnt good either. We both only ate the eggs and left the rest of the plate. We didnt complain but we know that we wont be eating here again.

food was ok, nothing special. I rated it low because we sat for over 1 hour for our order to come out. while talking to a frequent customer, we expressed this. he then went up to the waitress and asked about it. we seen her flipping thru her order pad and then she said she "forgot to put ticket up!" the other customer came back to explain this and said she was putting it right up. needless to say, I had to rush thru my meal as I had an appt in Gilbert. we went early enough (0800) so we wouldnt have a time problem, but ended up in a crunch anyway. was not happy.

***Edit 8/8/16 Food/coffee has been cold last two trips. I no longer recommend. Talked to a few more Maricopa residents and their experiences are the same.*** Original Review- Service is OK the breakfast is amazing. I take guests here often. Its really a nice spot. Overall my favorite breakfast place in Maricopa. Only give it 4 stars as the wait staff isnt always great, not all the time but sometimes. Everyone I take here enjoys it a lot. I enjoy their lunch entrees as well but primarily my breakfast spot.

They didnt allow me 2 bring my stroller in i told them if they had a carseat sling that would be fine and they told me they didnt and i would have 2 put her in the booth next 2 me not the only time they have been rude and food is just ok not worth the rudeness i will be going somewhere more kid friendly not worth the hassle or the scene they made it out 2 be

We eat here 2-3 times a month & its consistently delicious. In the past year weve had one undercooked waffle that they promptly replaced with a perfectly cooked one. My over-medium eggs are always cooked just right & thats a huge compliment. Prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend Sunrise Café for a delicious standard-fare breakfast.

Went for breakfast with the family for the first time. Reminded us of a breakfast dinner from back home, down to the placemats with local business adds on them. The food was good, took a little bit to come out. Only complaint was that we were charged $5.90 for two cups of coffee! And we only got asked if we wanted more at the end of our meal.

In my opinion it is the best place in town for breakfast but that is because there is very little competition. Omelette is usually good. Biggest complaint is that there have been several times I have ordered take out only to get home and find things missing from my order. They always do there best to make it right but it doesnt fix that meal.

I like coming to this restaurant anytime Im in Maricopa. The food is consistently tasty and well priced. The waitresses and all staff are friendly. They offer quick service and kind smiles. Today the wait to sit down was about 10 minutes and they were VERY busy, so that was a quick turn time. Our waitress, Wendy, offered wonderful service!

Worst food I have ever had, I ordered a French dip which I thought was just like every French dip, it was so spicy I couldnt eat it, 2nd plate was French toast with no flavor and was so soggy in the middle I felt like I was eating slime, I just took it home and threw it away. Wont eat there anymore.

I absolutely love this place, not because they are basically the only place in Maricopa to get a good breakfast, but because they have the BEST food! The only thing I have to complain about is that the restaurant is a bit small, but that's it. Great service, great food...highly recommended!

Food was edible but service was awful. Our server seemed to be inconvenienced that we were here, even during a very slow time (there was only one other table while we were here), and our 4 sandwiches and one salad took almost 45 minutes to come out. Wont be coming back here again.
