Tried to take my wife for an early valentines dinner, but it turned into a complete disaster. To begin with, we were seated two feet away from a door to the porch that we assumed was closed, but as people began entering and exiting, we were both frozen by the 20 degree artic blast each time the door was opened, so we both froze the entire time even with our coats on. Tables were cramped and getting bumped into by person behind me. When waitress took our drink orders, i asked for a glass of water, and said i would be getting wine, so i assumed she would bring me a wine list, wrong.Had to ask. My wife asked another waiter for some straws, he only brought one and left, so we had to ask for another. (Are they rationing straws?) The music was too loud, lighting too dark. Now for my food- i ordered the rib eye steak, medium well, and my wife ordered the blackened salmon, after a long 40 minute wait, my steak was very rare, and my wifes salmon had no blackening, looked like it was baked. So after having to wait so long on the food, i just ate my salad and potato, instead of waiting 40 more minutes if i had sent the steak back. After we were done, and i showed the steak to our waitress, she said she would get the manager, which he never showed his face, and she just took off my steak price on the ticket. Guess the manager didnt even care either? Maybe this is the whole problem, from the kitchen, to the service? I am a local, and have never been truly impressed with this restaurant. The nice view doesnt make up for the bad experiences i have had over the years.

Chicken alfredo is a basic enough dish. Ive had good chicken alfredo from nearly every restaurant Ive been to. The Cypress Inn, however, brought my chicken alfredo to my table cold, not lukewarm, cold... as in it had been sitting out for some time. I asked the server if there was anyway to have it heated up. As I did this, I thought to myself surely they understand I want a new plate and not some microwaved abomination. What does this fine dining restaurant bring me? My same plate, recently nuked in the microwave. The oil had separated from the alfredo sauce making it uneatable. I was in front of my girlfriend so I didnt want to appear to be a snob, but when I pay for good food I expect something at least better than a $2 insta-alfredo. Very disappointing. I wont be going back.

Went for Easter brunch buffet while visiting my brother. Had to ask four different people for missing silverware, took about ten to fifteen minutes for the fourth person asked to bring it while we waited with plates of food. They also ran out of shrimp for the shrimp and grits bar. We were told that they werent getting anymore and the guests earlier must have eaten too much. Then thirty minutes later when we complained we were told oh we have more shrimp,...no communication between wait staff and management. Lastly, we dined without beverages for at least 20 minutes because they ran out of sweet tea and needed to brew more. Overall very poor service and management with mediocre food at best. Very disappointing Easter brunch with my family.

I, AM TYPICALLY VERY FORGIVING WHEN VISITING PLACES. UNFORTUNATELY, I, MUST SAY THAT THIS WAS THE POOREST EXAMPLE OF GUEST SERVICE I HAVE RECIEVED. I, POLITELY ATTEMPTED TO REACH OUT TO MANAGEMENT IN REGARDS TO A SITIUATION THAT HAPPENED ON LAST FRIDAY EVE.....ONCE I FINALLY DID REACH THE RIGHT PERSON SHE...WAS AT BEST LESS THAN HELPFUL. I AM HOPING THAT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM CARES ENOUGH TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE BEFORE I, STATE SPECIFICS. JUST BE CAREFUL WHEN USING YOUR CREDIT CARD AT THIS LOCATION AND IF YOU HAVE TO CALL AND SPEAK WITH LEAH, DO NOT EXPECT HER TO BE PROFESSIONAL NOR COURTEOUS.

Ive visited Tuscaloosa several times over the years on business, and this is my favorite place to eat. The Tilapia, steak, appetizers and drinks are all the best. (Love the squash side item too!) Besides the wonderful food and excellent service, the scenery beside the creek is so nice! It shows the flood levels over the years on a tall tree by the creek which is pretty neat. You wont be disappointed. :) When entering the address in your navigation program on your cell, make sure you select the "N" (North) option for the street address and NOT "NE."

I have always enjoyed eating at Cypress Inn and each time I eat fried oysters. It is my favorite place to eat this meal of fried oysters. However, today when I got my plate of oysters I was very disappointed. The oysters were so small that they were tasteless. They were all batter and some were as small as a pencil. I recommend that if you cant serve oysters that are of good quality, dont serve them at all. I realize that you cant always get good quality oysters, in that case, you would be better served to take them off the menu.

I ate here years ago and thought it was good but I have been here on five different occasions this year and have had a bad experience time and time again.. waiter was not attentive and we never got refills. Waiter never brought the so called free rolls and muffins. The food was so bland I thought I was on my dads ulcer diet. Just wasnt good at all. The view and atmosphere are good. The food was cold. I do not know if this is the kitchens fault or the unattentive waiter.

Hadnt been here in months. Used to love eating here but this time we immediately noticed a smell as we entered and it looked run down. Food was fair, my daughter got the Mahi Mahi and it was way overcooked. Needless to say she only took a few bites and couldnt stomach anymore. Fried green tomatoes were hard and tasteless. Gumbo was like slime, nasty! This will unfortunately be our last time going here. Not what it used to be at all! Dont waste your time or money.

Excellent food. I had grouper filet with a pecan butter sauce. Absolutely delicious. My date had pecan fried chicken I think. It was wonderful as well. Their muffins are magnificent, the price is average, about as much as olive garden or somewhere similar. The food and atmosphere cover that cost 10 times over. Beautiful view over the river. The service is excellent as well. A wonderful place to dine, and we will be going back.

The staff at this the Cypress Inn are unbelievable. They go out of their way to help. Katie at the front desk, we wanted to adopt and take home, she is such a pleasant person. Jimmy the restaurant manager, has made the food and service at this restaurant second to none. I had the salmon and it was the best I have ever had, and I travel a lot.

I liked Cypress Inn the first time I went. The second time it seemed like it was having a bit of an off day. THEN, one day while having lunch at the Northport Diner, I overheard some Cypress Inn waiters talking about their rampant roach infestation. I will not be returning. If you want really great food in a CLEAN place go to Carmelo Cafe!
