This is the first place I ever tried Thai food which has to be around 20 years ago now and has set the standard. Unfortunately, all other Thai food Ive had pales in comparison. Their Shrimp Pad Thai is peanutty not fishy. The spicy Tom Yum soup with shrimp is also my favorite; a bowl will feed four and especially hits the spot if you have a cold and need a good homemade soup. My friends have enjoyed the curry dishes but I always order the same thing. The atmosphere is pretty low key but the service is great and they also have a lunch buffet on weekdays. The locals love it and the prices are low. It is at Sheridan and Leland and they have their own parking lot. They used to be across the way on the other side of Leland where the Siam Rice and Noodle is. They may be the same family because the recipes are very close. I try to alternate between the two and have been going to them for since the late 80s. You must try them. Do yourself a favor.

This place used to be great, but Im not sure what happened. The owner used to be up front and would seat customers; he was very friendly, but isnt there anymore. Perhaps thats why. The service was also very prompt and had quite few Thai college students waiting tables, not like now where you have to wait a while for one person. The menu item descriptions have changed as well, ironically because now they go by the traditional Thai dish names, such as Pad See Ew where before it was Rice Stick w Soy Sauce and Pad Thai was Thai Rice Sticks. Perhaps those entries were more confusing. Regardless, the food just isnt the same anymore; seems the recipes have been altered. As a long time customer, its was quite disappointing, but still better than the place next door where I found roaches crawling on the wall.

The food her is very good, but the secret is to come here for the Friday lunch buffet. The buffet serves about 10 items including: basil chicken, green curry chicken, fried chicken wings, tom yum soup, etc. Save room for the fried bananas (only served on Fridays). This is a family own business. Food is cooked to order (except for the buffet). Service is good.

This place does a lot of price swapping. I ordered a dish. Then a few weeks later I ordered the same dish and the price is different by about a dollar. A few asian restaurants are known for doing that.
