Update 8/13/17: 5 stars. We ordered fish tacos off the specials menu and had the Tilapia broiled instead of fried (pic). Wow, really good! And better than some of the Mexican places weve eaten at. Certainly would order again... and with beers, since this time was brunch w/coffee. Update 6/25/17: oatmeal w/nanners again :) GF had Cuban burger delux- very good. Fyi the jalapeños that come with it are REAL! Not the mild ones you get at some places... I love hot peppers, tobasco is mild to me. Great food... update 5/6/17: had oatmeal with bananas- was good, Id get it again. GF had Greek omlet again- good. Her rye toast was perfect! Strayed from our usual 9th Ave spots. My Pancakes and eggs- great! Greek omelet- awesome (GFs words). Coffee was good and friendly staff. We will be back :)

Les plats sont typiquement américains. Nous avons pris un combo breakfast(oeufs brouillés et bacon accompagnés de ses pancakes énormes et son sirop dérable. Si vous cherchez après une balade à la high line une pause, le star on 18 fera laffaire. Combo, avec un café et un cappuccino 21 dollars taxes et tips inclus. Allez y surtout pour le cadre. Bon rapport/qualité prix.

We wanted to get away from the obnoxious crowds and annoying tourists at CM, and fond this cozy little old school diner just two blocks away. It was perfect. Comfy booths, reasonable prices and attentive staff. NYC the way it used to be. My friend ordered the Reuben and I had the roast beef melt. Both arrived hot, toasty and delicious! Definitely coming back.

The food seemed fine, from what i saw. I wasnt able to eat there because they were in such a rush and so busy and, as someone who cant eat a lot of things due to pre-existing conditions, i got a plate full of stuff i couldnt eat. And the waiters were just whizzing around, tending to other people. Sure itll be great for someone who isnt such a constricted eater.

After battling the mass if visitors at Chelsea Piers I went looking for something nearby that was quiet and cheap. The Star on 18 was perfect. Quick service, reasonable prices and excellent value for money. For the record I had a Ruben sandwich with pastrami and real chips, not those thin and anemic fries most places serve up (see image).

Classic Diner. Challah grilled cheese lunch special. Burn the fries. Free rice pudding. Trust me. Go for it! Love this place either to stop in or have delivered. Nothing better on a cold winter day. The service is great the food is on par, the convenience for so far west is the key.

It deserves 4 just for being a diner. These places truly are hard to find in NYC! The food is good/OK depending on what you pick but its also VERY reasonably priced given the neighborhood. Great place for launch in the neighborhood.

Horrible! Not so much the food but the owners attitude. The workers are very nice however the owner is very racist and her face and attitude really makes the breakfast unenjoyable. I feel sorry for the people who work there.

Awesome place to stop for brunch.. were walking the high line and saw this place and thought wed stop in. They have great service and quick and excellent food. Best diner food weve had here in Manhattan!
