I dont ever do reviews, but this was by far the WORST meal I have ever paid for in my entire life. Yes the staff was friendly, but who cares...thats not why I go out to eat. The food was absolutely terrible. How does this place have 4 stars! To start...the toast was brought out within 1 minute of ordering, obviously this cant toast. It was soft, cold bread with unmelted butter. Then the meals came out in under 5 minutes, thats faster than McDonalds and the food was worse. The home fries were simply potatoes...no seasoning, no onions, no peppers...just cut up potatoes and some pieces were half a potato. The bacon looked like the treats you give your dog, and probably tasted that way, but Ive never had dog food before...until this morning. My friend is here from the Philippines and this was his first diner experience and Im sorry I brought him here. He was disappointed to say the least and now I have to take him to another diner. The chocolate chips in his pancakes were not even melted. He had to dip them in ketchup for some flavor, and his bacon looked like you guessed it...dog treats. The cheese in the omelets was not melted either and its clear they use eggs from a carton and not fresh eggs. To top this all off, their prices are ridiculous! $5 for 3 pieces of bacon. $12 for a GLASS of champagne...Ive bought glasses of champagne at pool bars in Vegas that were $12. Our tab was over $100 for 5 people...for diner breakfast, thats a bit much. I couldve bought and prepared the worlds best breakfast for that much, and thats what Ill do next time and so should you. I am an employee at this diner. I have been waiting tables in diners for a little over fifteen years now. While the food at the Riverview is undoubtedly not the hottest new thing, as I see people seem to have a lot to complain about in this area, it is CLASSIC diner. You cant change two eggs over easy to anything else, ya know? Not only does the food come out hot, and VERY FAST (I have yet to figure out how the cooks pull it off) but this is what you can remember when going out to eat as a kid, growing up. The place is SUPER family friendly, which is comforting to see, as a mother. On top of everything else.... These people go out of their way. The owner of this place is hard working, and personally makes sure that things get done the right way. Him and his wife, who have owned and run this place themselves for thirty some-odd years now, have taught these same work ethics and hard working skills to their three daughters, who also have a hand in running the place now. They will jump in a heart beat to fix any issue any customer would have and they bend over backwards for their employees as well. Everyone gets a second chance. And that is hard to come by anywhere these days, let alone in a diner, and as a waitress. If anyone on here came to write a bad review, I ask that you come back, and give us another shot. If something is wrong, ask a manager to resolve the problem. You will be treated like royalty. Promise.

I have been to this diner multiple times in the past, and I went back this morning to see if it was as bad as I remembered. It was. This is a diner that does not give free refills on soda (though they dont tell you that until the check comes). I repeat this is a diner that does not give free refills on soda. It is probably the worst diner in Hudson County, if not all of North Jersey. Its overpriced throughout, the waitstaff is inattentive even when its not busy, and there are no mints when you leave. Its a shame since its such a great location... but I wont be going back there anytime soon. Did I mention that this is a diner that does not give free refills on soda? Also, the hash browns suck.

Riverview diner has the best diner cheesecake in hudson county. I prefer the strawberry but they are all good. Been eating here since I was a child. Also great turkey clubs. The turkey is fresh and flavorful. P.s. to add to tiffanys review. Yes everyone gets a second chance. And the owner has instilled a great work ethic to all his employees. And they treat all the guests like family. Just see for yourself.chances are if you come to eat with a child they will be leaving with a smile and a free cookie handed to them by the owner!

Labor Day Monday.... and, (Thank goodness!!!) no big storm effects from Hurricane Hermine, making it a perfect time to start out this lazy long-weekend Monday at the #RiverViewDinerNJ in North Bergen, NJ...... Good Friends.... Good Food.... Good Coffee... and my newspaper. ... Doesnt get any better than this!! Shout out to the owners, Tommy and Sophia, and their daughters, Olga, Cindy and Vivian, who make this classic #NJDiner one of the friendliest (and cleanest!!!) places in the state to go grab a bite to eat!

Food was HORRENDOUS! I found a nasty hair in my food. The bacon was burnt to a crisp and brown which actually was the same color of the hash browns and eggs. It all looked as if it had been cooked in the same oil and tasted like it too. Nasty. My friends food was just as bad and it was a completely different order than mine. The fruit was past maturity and everything tasted reheated. As a matter of fact, the waitress mentioned that one of the items was frozen at the time. Smh. Never going back.

My family and I frequent this diner weekly mainly for breakfast and occasionally for dinner! Breakfast specials are amazing and food is consistently good. Owners are warm and friendly and most of the staff is incredibly accommodating. Everyone in my family has their wheels when krdering and usually everything is served perfectly the first time. For dinner they have daily specials that include so much for the price, you seriously cant eat it all. I definitely recommend River view Djner!

DISGUSTING!!! Lived here for 15 years and eat here when desperate... roaches in food, hair in food, dont get fooled by the recent makover outside. Owner is angry man who HATES kids and PREGNANT WOMEN. He calls cops on PREGNANT women dropping off kids next door at daycare because they park in his lot that is always empty. Hes mean, angry and yells at pregnant women. Obviously just cares about money as he serves you whacked food. Dont get fooled by the location or decor.

I came here with my best friend for breakfast and I order the eggs benedict. The English muffin was half burnt, the eggs werent runny as they should be with this meal and they werent. My friend got steak and eggs and it was one plate with eggs and hashbrowns and the whole other plate was a full rack of steak. Quantity is over qualtiy at this place. I might go back in a year or two see if they changed, but not for a long time.

This place is exactly what you want from a 24/7 classic american diner. Solid breakfast options (if you order an egg sandwich make sure you get an extra egg, they come with 1 egg which is just silly) Salads are huge and pretty fresh and the greek side of the menu is pretty good. Honestly, never had a bad meal and the management is always on point if you have any issues
