Dined here last night with a large group, we had reservations. Upon walking in, there is absolutely zero room to "wait" to be seated. Half my group of 8 was standing out of the door. We were shuffled to our table all the way in an absurdly cramped corner. There is ZERO room to move around!! Every single person at our table was LITERALLY sitting ELBOW TO ELBOW, good luck getting up from the table if you need to use the restroom at all during your dinner, you will have to have every single person on your side of the table get up AND move out in order to get out and then repeat when you return to your seat! Its absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL for waiters to hand a customer water glasses and drinks and ask them to "pass them down", thats your job, not your paying customers job! I was also shocked that the waiters actually extended their arms and reached across half the table to hand people there plates because we were seated against a while so therefore there is no way for anyone to walk behind us or even to the side! One waiter actually spilled part of someones drink on one of the people in my party by reaching over him. Now that you know just how disgustingly over packed this restaurant is, and that they pack in as many warm bodies as they possibly can to rush people in and out, I will move on to the next issue. This place is severely overpriced for Italian food. "Authentic" my ass. The lasagna and pasta tasted like it came out of a frozen TV dinner as did the garlic bread. Everything including drinks are way overpriced. Ive had better Italian food from the Olive Garden and we all know that Olive Garden isnt "authentic". The waiters bring refills of drinks without even asking and then you get hit with that additional charge whether you wanted it or not. To add insult to injury, I ended up with the worst case of food poisoning within a couple hours after leaving Calderone Club. I come downtown frequently for many events and have dined at countless restaurants. The only upside is that the group I came with was for a work event and therefore covered by my employer because I would never spend my own money here, nor will I ever return to this dump!

I had pizza, which was completely excellent, however have never experienced such rude service. I sat at the bar, and while eating, a waiter came up to the bartender and asked the bartender for a replacement glass of wine, as customer had a problem with original glass. Bartender told the waiter he would not do this, and told him to just take the glass back and tell the customer it was from a new bottle. Waiter was uncomfortable but did it anyway. I later asked for a refill, and when found out they were not free, I mentioned in a very nice way that not many nicer restaurants charge diners for refills, and his reply was - "I gues you have never eaten anywhere other than McDonalds". I simply asked for my check, and told him I did not want to sit in this restaurant any longer. I have never met such an arrogant and rude bartender. What a shame, as the food was good.

I go here about twice A WEEK and it is AWESOME! I am not crazy about their pizza though, Im from New York and prefer a thin greasy floppy cheesy pizza. But its not like its inedible by far! Everything else they make is truly outstanding. The service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is very comfortable-you make it what you want it to be-the space doesnt tell you what you have to dress like or order like-from the very casual dressed people to the over the top mink fur people, Ive seen it (and worn most of it) to Calderones! The things that are always a constant are the quality and quantity of food, the great service, and the variety of dishes to choose from.

The food was quite good. The reason for 1 star is that after our entree dishes were cleared we asked what was on the dessert menu. We were told by our waitress that there was a 1 hour time limit on tables and that we probably would not have time for dessert. However they would be glad to package something to go. Really?!?! We had reservations, so we were not “walk-ins”. And we certainly were not “dawdling.” I have never ever had this type of experience at a restaurant. Tables around us with larger parties did not appear to be under this restriction. Needless to say I will not be back!

Walked in without reservation on a Saturday evening shortly after 5pm. Placed was packed and very loud. They managed to find a table for us though in short time. Beer wasnt as cold as I like, but drinkable. Brushetta was out fast and delicious. Entrees came out quicker than we expected given how busy they were. Plays were warm. Food was hot. The wine sauce my wife had you could taste the wine in it. The Bolognese sauce had Angus steak sauce taste as advertised. Pricey? Yes, but compared to other places in downtown Milwaukee, it was market prices.

The food was ok. The noodles were incredibly soft. Almost chewy. The tomato sauce left a weird after taste but my husband loved his gnocchi meal and added meatballs. Our server was terrible. Rushed through every question we asked and was running away as I asked for a refill of my drink. Literally. He also seemed annoyed when we asked for bread. It is because of him that I will give this place a 2. But the food was decent.Just no excuse for bad service. Especially when we saw him being kind, laughing and taking his time with the table across from us.

NOISY!! The only reason this place got one star is because the spaghetti was decent. THIS PLACE IS OVER PRICED. A plate of spaghetti is $15.00? And, thats WITHOUT a salad!! I wont be back. They nickel and dime you at every turn. Tried to get refills on tea so I went up to the bar. The bartender charges for refills on tea. "WHAT?!?!? You charge for TEA REFILLS?" The tea was stale and was left over from the day before. Bartender didnt offer apologies for the poor quality of the tea. The service can be stressful, but, very sweet.

I was in Milwaukee the other day for the USITT conference and i and a group of others had lunch there and everything about this restaurant is fantastic. The atmosphere, the food and the service were all amazing. The art on the walls, the Sinatra and Dean Martin music and lay out of the restaurant gives it that timeless feel of the 1940s in a city like New York or Chicago. I simply cannot say enough good about my experience there. And i would definitely recommend eating here if you are ever in Milwaukee.

We had a party of 4, no reservation, were seated right away. Great menu, pricy but for the quality of food it was perfect. Minestrone soup was fantastic. I got the cheese ravioli. It was amazing. The marinara sauce is delicious. One had the lasagna and said it was awesome. 2 had the spaghetti and they both loved it. They say theyre famous for the meatballs and that title is rightfully theirs. We all ate everything on our plate. The service was fast and everyone was very nice. I will definitely be back.
