Midwestern Hospitality at its finest: My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for a house hunting trip. It has been updated and remodeled in the past year or so and has a very clean, upscale finish to it. But the best part about this stay was the people: I was impressed with every person we encountered at this hotel, from the gentleman who checked us in and answered my questions about things to do and restaurants to visit (he also gave us a BOGO drink ticket, but we didnt get a chance to use it) to the wonderful staff at the in house restaurant Libby McNeals, I think one person who was walking around must have been the chef, he was very accommodating and eager to discuss the food and offer any help he could. We only ate breakfast here in the morning (No charge!), but they are a full service restaurant for the public to enjoy, they were so nice! I am somewhat picky when it comes to costumer service having worked in it myself and having high expectations of all people I come across, hotel stays usually do not impress me. I also must say, the breakfast was phenomenal! We were expecting a routine hotel breakfast of cereal and mini muffins and boiled eggs, however there was an excellent egg and sausage skillet with cheese melted on top, it was real eggs, real cheese, and delicious juicy pieces of sausage, there was also a yummy potato wedge pairing that was not too greasy, but just right. I felt like I was getting a home cooked meal! there were also an array of in house made breakfast sweets like bread pudding and muffins. In addition to the main course I had a chocolate chip chocolate muffin with hazelnut coffee and it was very yummy, We sat in one of the many comfortable booths enjoying the calm and peaceful morning and watched the news. There was also a fireplace and many other tables to sit and look out at the hotels courtyard. Of course they still had cereal and the routine staples that most hotels offer as well. My husband and I stayed in a standard King room, the bed and bedding was super comfy! I always check mattresses for scary signs of little invaders and I am happy to report the place was super clean, and didnt have any funny smells or dirty surprises anywhere. the water pressure was good, there is complimentary Kurig coffee and tea in the room, Nice coffee mugs to enjoy it in instead of those paper thin burn your hands kind in most hotels. They have lots of in room stuff you can eat/drink but it will cost you... I just make it a rule to stay away from this stuff at all hotels. I usually clear out their fridge and put in my own snacks I bring from home. The place was super quiet and very relaxing!!! We didnt check out the pool but I am told they do have one, we were just to busy to enjoy it. I should also mention this hotel is dog friendly!!!! which is a huge plus for us because our only child is a 70 lb Labrador that has to go with us on trips! The only complaint I have: There was very few guests at this hotel and this makes me worry that people dont know about what a gem it is!!! for a Friday night the cost was $119.00 dollars and I can honestly say this was a better quality stay than any 250.00+ dollar a night hotel I have stayed at! If youre going to be in the Marshfield, Wisconsin area, you simply must stay at this hotel, its the best!

I had my wedding here this past weekend. The wedding day itself was great, the food was good and everything Saturday went off without a hitch. The hotel is extremely modern and very pretty for an event like this. The problem was Friday night. We were told initially that we could decorate any time Friday because they dont book events on the day before the wedding. Then a few weeks before the wedding we found out there was an event, so we were told we could decorate now Friday night at 11pm after the event. We showed up at 11 to decorate and the staff had nothing done and were extremely rude to us about it. The decorating should have taken an hour or less but we didnt get out until 130am Saturday morning of the wedding and we were even helping put table cloths on tables and move chairs to get things going faster. Monday after the wedding we wanted to meet with the general manager Cory to talk about how rude her staff were to us. When we met with her she was extremely rude and disrespectful to me, my husband, and my mother. She would not apologize for the miscommunication with decorating times Friday night and even swore a few times during our conversation. We got no apologies and no compensation for our trouble and extreme added undue stress Friday night. Even without compensation, an apology would have been sufficient but we got nothing. I am super disappointed how everything happened Friday night and Monday during our meeting and for this alone would not recommend doing business for a large event or any event with hotel marshfield. Though Saturday was great, Friday put an awful taste in my mouth and when the disrespect continued Monday afternoon with the general manager I was shocked at how I was treated overall as a customer.

I stayed with them for a month and I was overwhelmed by their customer service. Hotel is very clean and very spacious. Small gym is clean and has suffice equipment. They have hot water tub. It was great experience to get in tub with snow all around you. They provide the shuttle service with no additional cost. So if you dont have a car, just let them know they can take you wherever you want. In midst of snow they have a very warm and welcoming staff. Mike, the bar guy is a gentle man and is always ready to help. Nash, quite an eye candy, is the cutest server they have. You might end up ordering more than you want. At lunch, Kyle greets you with a million dollar smile and if you end up meeting Jazmine, red haired bar lady, I bet she will turn your bad mood to a good one. Robert can cook anything you want and you cant afford to miss his omelette, if you happen to go on time for breakfast. They dont have it on menu, you have to make special request for that. Steve use to drive me to my work and he is very humble and amazing person. He went out of the way to help me find my dream home in this city. Their menu is pretty small. Dont worry about it, just ask them and they can make you even those things which are not on the menu. Wednesdays are pretty crowded and they get live music, which is pretty cool. The only thing which sucks about their restaurant is they are shut on Sundays. I could bet they are best in town.

As much as the night manager was trying to be helpful to resolve a problem with the hotels inexperienced front desk, where things turned south minute one, howwver things just kept getting worse every minute thereafter. The room they put us in was not cleaned, after waiting 30 minutes and being told over and over we had no reservation by the front desk gentleman.(New guy, he repeatedly let us know) After that experience the manager trying her best to take over and accommodate an already bad situation, upgraded us to their best room, the suite. However the hotel gods must be in a bad mood, because it got worse. The towels were tattered, wash clothes with black, oil or shoe polish and brown spots and stains on them probably rust, but who knows they were brown regardless? The room layout was wonderful, but the house keeping has forgotten the bathroom vent, its growing fur. The shower is glass and shows areas that were missed in the last few cleanings as well. Im hoping this was just a bad try for us, because the potential to have a great experience is certainly possible. Hopefully your experience will be as good as I think it could be. We are greatful of the effort by the night manager, hopefully she will circle the wagons and get the support she needs from the staff that contributes to the success or failure of the hotel and the total guest experience.
