Delicious BBQ in the hidden city of Elm Grove. I love driving through this little downtown as I only happen to do so when I am lost or by accident. There seems to be a few hidden gems here, and Silver Spur is definitely one of them. This establishment sits in a building built in the 1800s with a nicely done rustic, old west decor with a wonderfully homey feel. The staff greets you with a smile, and the service was fantastic. We were trying the place out for a potential venue for our rehearsal dinner. The owner was available and eager to speak with us about his location. They are extremely accommodating and willing to work with you on just about anything. They have a nice space that can be closed off for private parties. On to the meal itself. We started with a delicious homemade salsa, guacamole and chips. Literally everything they make is home made, fresh and very tasty. You can order a variety of meats on custom combination plates. The ribs melted off the bone and I love the bbq sauce on the side. The coleslaw and beans were great as well. The food was a perfect amount and filled me up without overdoing it. ***UPDATE*** We had out rehearsal dinner here and it was great! The food was amazing once again and very good service. Everyone loved it. Would highly recommend for events!

service was good. but i had the three item platter ribs, chicken and brisket. i travel down south a least twice a year for good barbecue food. which i love. so i was happy to find the silver spur to curb my appetite (close to home). well i have never been so unhappy with food in along time. it was so very dry the barbecue sauce i put on it could not even help the dryness. and it was like that on all three items? and it sure did not have that nice smoked flavor most briskets have. not to mention i seen the smoker out back for all the smoking of the meat. i couldnt tell the server how i felt and i know i should of. i own my own business (auto repair) and i would of wanted to know if something was wrong. i hope the owner reads his reviews.take the meat out of that smoker sooner and put some wood chips in there!

This place has really gone down since it moved to Elm Grove. When the Silver Spur was in New Berlin, the food was awesome, it was fresh and you could tell it was homemade. We went there last night, it was not that busy but the service was poor, the waitress got one of our entrees completely wrong (ordered fajitas and got a burrito) and did not take it off the bill. I agree with previous reviews about the ribs. Mine were gray and mushy, its like they were baked with a spice rub on them, they were so bad I could not eat more than 2. Will not be going back here again which is sad because they really used to have agood thing going.

Its not bad food. Its decent. But its missing smoke, its missing flavor and its missing texture. The ribs are fall off the bone but mushy. It should be a little firm on the bone. The pulled pork is really bland. Its good pork a good quality of meat but no flavor. The Chicken is really dry. Brisket is hard to serve in general it dries out fast after cutting, which is fine. But theres not enough flavor of smoke in the brisket. Sausage was good, but a little mealy. I wouldnt eat there again but thats not to say its bad, theres just so many other places to try I wouldnt put this on my list of repeats.

Stopped in for the Brisket and was disappointed. It was flavorless and resembled thick slices of beef stew meat. No bbq, seasoning or smoke flavor to speak of. The ribs were ok, but they were more like baked ribs and lacked any smoke flavor as well. The baked beans tasted like pinto beans, not sweet at all as I would have expected. The waitress seemed bothered by presence due to the fact that she was sitting at the bar when I arrived and was rushing to get back to her conversation. All is all, the food was subpar. I would not visit again for bbq, perhaps the drinks are better.

Food is over-cooked dry and burned manager tried to lie his way out of it; shredded onions are not supposed to be black and ribs are supposed to be moist and not over-cooked like shoe leather. This is my second such bad experience that worked out the same way: denial and lies. I cant trust going there anymore. This place was a five star restaurant when it was out on Greenfied Avenue. Since their fire and move to Elm Grove food is lousy and staff are dishonest.

Service was poor and extremely slow. We were ignored for long periods of time, and the place was almost empty... so its not because they were busy. We had to wait about 30 minutes to order and about another 30 minutes to pay. The food was also poor. The chicken had an odd flavor, and the fruit was on the verge of going bad. This was our second time there. We thought it was good the first time, but we will definitely not go back.

Im rating this a two because they do have a nice venue and awesome patio. I cannot speak for the majority of their menu but the BBQ was so bad we threw away pork ribs and brisket. Please understand this... I have NEVER thrown away those two pieces of meat. Ribs were a little better, but both extremely dry. If you want BBQ just pay a little more and go to Smoke Shack!

I wasnt sure what to expect when I first walked into the Silver Spur. When I first looked at their menu, it seemed a bit ambitious. I really dont think the menu size hurt them at all, I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was great. Their coleslaw and potato salad were also excellent. I would definitely be going back soon to try some more of what they offer.

Everyone at our wedding commented on how tasty and unique the food was! The prices were great, too. They are a great choice for catering! We worked with both Val and Frank (the owner) for our small wedding, and they were a wonderful team! Val was much more than just a catering manager, she was practically a wedding coordinator.

server was very attentive and informative. decor not much to talk about. I had a BLT and it was just average. the salad greens were very bitter, may have been raw kale mixed in many other greens? I just thought of that. I would not go again, there are too many fabulous places to eat and this is not one of them.
