This was my second time here. The first time was very good. The majority of the items tasted great and everything was kept stocked and fresh as it was dinner on a Friday night. The sushi selection was good although I have had better sushi at other places. Today was a completely different experience. It was 12:30 on a Wednesday and very disappointing. To start with the only sushi that was on the line was the pieces that they fry after being here for about 45 minutes they finally go fresh sushi out but it might have been the worst sushi I have ever had, the sushi you get at the grocery store is better than todays here. Although the other items were kept stocked the best item was a seafood stuffed bread. A few other items were good just not good enough to make up for the crappy sushi. I also had to sit and wait for my check even after asking for it a number of times. It was very disappointing especially since I live and work on the West side of Vancouver (near Vancouver Lake) and drove all the way over here just to eat at this place. If this place is always just hit or miss I dont think I can continue to travel over here just for this place.

This place literally doesnt deserve a star at all. My boyfriend and I just wasted $30 on the worst food you could imagine. Their sushi and tempura looked like it had been sitting there since the day before, the avocado in the sushi was going brown. The food looked good, because they have steam coming from the bottom of the plates to make it look like its hot. Everything was cold and either undercooked or over cooked. The fried rice was crunchy like little rice crackers... The miso soup was cold, and the egg flour soup was a little too yellow for comfort. I didnt try any of their desserts except the ice cream, which literally smelled like a sharpie and tasted like nail polish. I kept trying things hoping something would turn out well... it did not go well at all. Im pretty sure we are going to get food poisoning. Please. For the love of all that is good... do not go here. I never write reviews. This place was that bad.

I absolutely love this place! Its the best sushi buffet in the area with a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, and a large hot selection as well! Diverse dessert choices is always a great finish too! I would like to add that I am very picky about sushi because I cant eat cucumbers so I was very impressed with the diverse sushi layout because I was able to eat many different rolls every time I visit! And a huge selling point is that they dont charge for spicy mayo like a nearby competing buffet does! Much happier buffet choice and we havent returned to the competitor since!

Dont waste your time or money .the food is not worth the money. The seating is horrible the fire department needs to be called on them .you couldnt even enjoy your food if you wanted too with out someone trying to walk through a 12inc section by your table knocking your food out of your had or taking your table with them and having someones ass in your face every minute. If there was ever a fire in that place everyone would die cause they couldnt get out . like I said dont waste your time or money .

My initial impressions of this place were good, lots of variety, accommodating staff, and good atmosphere. Although, after only the second time that I visited Minato I got terrible food poisoning (still enjoying this as I type). The reason I write this review is to reccomend Makoto Japanese Buffet, as they are minutes from Minato and run a much cleaner restaurant and experience for the same price. After years of going to Makoto, no one in my family has had troubles with the food.

Super buffet, very fresh and hot crab legs on Sunday. The sushi alone is worth coming for. Its a few bucks more the other buffets but well worth it. The servers are very polite and always checking on you, almost annoying, but they wanted to ensure I was happy and had all i need. Try the sweet ice tea, was suprised how good it was. Not greasy food and fantastic selection. A little hard to find and not crowded cuz its still a hidden gem. Did I say the Hot Crab!

The prepared food was decent, with a few really tasty dishes like the roast pork... Sushi on the other hand was sub par, as the rice in the nigiri was cold and hard, (and missing wasabi) and the fish not tasting as fresh as it could. Deserts were great, as the buns and ice cream were actually quite tasty. In general, it would be nice if the food was labeled better. I was trying to figure out what was in the rolls, and which ice cream was which.

My family loves good food and lots of it, we just left this restaurant and this place is pretty good. Great verity of see food and very delicious. Service was excellent to say the least! I read some reviews before we came and it was said Makoto was better and we were at Mokoto before and tonight made a decision to come here, the whole family was glad we did. Next time we will be coming here instead of Makoto.

5 stars for sure! Highly recommend this place. I went out with my husband and my new born for the first time in a long time, and I felt very welcomed at Minato. The food was very satisfying, fresh and waitresses took plates away on time. At one point I was on my phone and one of the waitresses came up to me and asked if I would like their wifi password, I thought that was very neat. Definitely coming back! :)

Me and my mom went there for our first time. We had a coupon for the lunch on weekends which was 18 dollars instead of 21. The sushi was good and the yakisoba and general tso chicken but I only gave it a 3 because it was extremely overpriced even with a coupon. Allot of different varieties to choose from but Id just go to sushi hana down the road and get the same amount for 10 bucks.

The Chinese guy at the sushi section was litetally, LITERALLY pissed when I asked for sashimi. It was my first time there. He got more annoyed each time I came back to ask for more sashimi. At one point, he lost it and told me that he doesnt speak English, then he told me to go away. Dont waste your time at this place. There are better sushi places that you can go to.

Clean. Orderly. Friendly staff, even if English is poor. Decent selection of Chinese buffet and sushi offerings. Fruit selection was well prepared and displayed. Seating was ample. Not as busy as their nearby competitor. Prices were a bit higher than ideal at $18.99/dinner on the weekends. Overall, I do prefer this place over their nearby competitor.

Tables way to close no room to walk with a plate. Food quality low extra $2 due to losbter parts being served no actual good lobster meat. Crab salad tasted bad like it had been out overnight. I will not be coming back would rather go to Makoto a few blocks up 3 times the sushi selection more room better food cheaper also alot cleaner
