Definatly not a place for people with food allergens. They had no allergen menue of whats in their food and im pretty suere it was all cross contaminated and their chairs were all sticky. I had a baked potatoe, one baked chicken wing and a salad with thousand island dressing and raw brocoli. Foods I thought would have been safe. But a day and a half later I am still struggling with nausea and extreme stomach pains. Their food wasnt even that good. Other non allergen people at my table said the chocote ice cream was sour and the sour cream was nasty among one other thing but it had a weird name. In My oppinion sizzler is way safer for people cursed with allergens and a they make sure the food at the bar isnt spoiled. Unless they make alot of improvements I am never going back to the hometown buffet in portland oregon

Our family went to Home Town buffet about twice a month for the past 6 years, started going to Country Buffet in Denver then moved out here to Portland Oregon. I have always loved going as I have five teenagers and its the one place they get their fill. However, the new individualized servings of pulled pork, bread pudding etc. I hate. Dry and not good after sitting out for a while. My favorite thing there is the bread pudding and now its awful. The recipe has changed as well, go back to serve yourself and stop the individual bowls, we will continue to come, but for now, I think twice before going to Home Town, changed to another place last week, dont know if Ill bring my family back. Too bad, the service, environment, staff, most of the food is good. I am not happy. would have given you 4 or 5 stars.

To start with do not go here if you value your health. The food was overall disappointing, most of the trays were empty and what was there was disgusting. Multiple dishes looked like they had been sitting out since the day before, vegetables were wilted, everything was watered down and half of the meat was not cooked thoroughly. Secondly the bathrooms were very unsanitary, cleaners were left on the counters, the toilet paper and paper towel dispensers were empty, and the whole place reeked, asked my mom who used the ladies restroom it wasnt in any better condition. Normally i love these places and can let a little go but this place was disgusting, after seeing one of the cooks use the restroom and not wash his hand i left immediately with no tip.

Tables here are usually clean, theres a good deal of space, and the food is plentiful and hot. My kids all like to eat here. The salad bar is usually very fresh-looking, and the desserts are very appetizing. I like to load up on roast beef or prime rib, horseradish, a nice big plate from the salad bar, and round it off with a sampling of the hot desserts (really enjoy the bread pudding with some vanilla ice cream on it). Its very reasonably priced for a dinner buffet (under $60, without the tip, for 3 adults and five kids between ages 9 and 2), and their family night helps the pocketbook as well. The servers are usually very diligent about removing empty plates and answering questions. All in all, good family eatery.

Its a buffet. Cant really do 4 or 5 stars ... but ... I really did like the Monday thru Friday lunch price of $8.49 sans beverage (from 2 pm to 4 pm beverage is included for the same price...but in the meantime)...waters fine for me thanks. The baked chicken is a fav and the dinner rolls are yum and REAL butter that is so hard to open you almost give up...but in the end...you are really happy they have REAL butter - so thats a quid pro quo. Ok for the rest of it...lots of choices, the place is clean - but can I say....dear heavens the length of the walk to the ladies bathroom is nuts. And why oh why is the ladies restroom always farther than the mens? Can someone answer me that.....aii yii yiii

The Manager here, Roe (sp?) went above and beyond to provide excellent service and was very welcoming... We are from the South and have been "on the road" for months... Ever miss fried okra when youre homesick? We asked if Fried Okra was on the menu yesterday, the manager Roe said nope, but actually made us a fresh, hot, special order and brought it personally to our table!! Wow!! And he is a great manager, constantly walking the floor and checking on guests and staff, you can tell that he does a great job. And the food was great, too... I had fried chicken, fresh salad and carrot cake, hubby had a little bit of everything lol. Definitely a great experience and will go again :)

Love there salad bar and chicken, but went this last week for a family celebration we did not know of the closing time after the greating clerk charged my card the 60.00$ she said we close in 5 mins but will give you 15 mins to finish up???? Are you kidding me I asked her why she didnt tell me we are closing? I wanted a refund I didnt want to rush and chow down a celebration dinner then was told it would take 5-7 days for the money to be put back. It makes me not want to go there because its rude to assume someone eat dinner in 15 mins! Or a warning that "hey were going to close do you still want to eat"? Training management and not even an apology.

It felt unclean and the employees were not very accommodating or hospitable. The cleaning lady with the short hair kept looking at us like we were germs and she couldnt wait for us to leave. It made me uncomfortable and anxious to leave after paying $18 for all you can eat. The nicest person was the new girl at the front desk... they need more kind people like her. Im only giving them 2 stars because of the 1 smiling new employee with the shortest hair in the place. She was the dark skinned one. So when they can hire more happy people there, I will come back. Until then I wont waste my time or money going back to that place.

I was forced into this situation. If I were to ever have any say in going there again I would refuse like a kicking and screaming 4 year-old. It is easy to understand why there is a startling number of obese members in our society. 1. they eat there, all you can eat 2., the food is all unhealthy. Just because they are called vegetables doesnt mean they are good for you. The owners of this chain would do a great service to the community if they shut down that place. Not only would be HOPEFULLY lose some weight but it would be best for their palettes as well.

The interior was a lot less fancy then some of the other Hometown Buffets we have been to in other areas, though the employees were very friendly. The food is what you would expect, not the greatest quality in the world but a decent selection of food. Its a little hard to find if you dont know where it is. Im honestly fine with the plain decor. Dinner prices are pretty high in comparison to the food youre getting in my opinion, and drinks are extra. It feels like theyre nickel-and-diming you to death and serving you low quality food in return.
