Im wondering if the good reviews for this place are fake or if the people that rated this place higher than a 1 either only had beer or water. Nothing here is good. A large group of us had dinner on Saturday night birthday dinner and I cannot tell you how disappointed my boyfriend and I were. For a $50 steak being prepared at a "bonafide" steakhouse, I would have thought that someone would know how to prepare them properly. I ordered the top sirloin medium rare. It was just barely medium thru a small portion of the middle. The rest was medium well to well done. It was grainy and more like shoe leather. I decided not to have a new one prepared as I didnt want to be the last one eating. My boyfriend and his friend ordered the Cowboy steak. Both came out EXTREMELY well done when they had requested medium rare as well. They chose to have 2 new steaks prepared. The new steaks came out VERY RARE. Rare to the point where it was gummy and my boyfriend had to choke it down. He actually didnt even finish it. None of the steaks were even seasoned. For the first time in my life, I had to add salt and pepper to my steak. We did not want to raise a fuss while we were there as it would detract from the birthday celebration. No effort was made to correct the issue. I ended up paying $390 (which included the automatic gratuity of 18%) for a meal that we could barely choke down. To say that we were less than impressed is an understatement and the fact that we werent even offered any type of a discount for the atrocious food is even worse. If you want to pay thru the nose for the crappiest steak ever, eat here. Otherwise, save yourself the money and just stay home and chew on your loafer. Itll taste better anyway.

what is missing here is a POOR rating option for food. had dinner there in mid january 2013. decor is nice but nothing special. service was nice and friendly but not attentive. food leaves a lot to wish for. we ordered elk medalions and buffalo steak. medalions are wrapped in bacon that is of poor quality and is too smokey. when i tried them withouth the bacon i realized that whoever cooked them has no idea about cooking game. very bad job. the sauce this came with was quite decent though or maybe it just stood out comapred to the rest of it. buffalo steak was not much better either. wrong temperature and definitely very wrong consistency for medium rare meet. what was most dissapointing was that i saw our food waiting under the heat lamp for a while before it was served to us. my gosh, where is the though of a steak sizzle when it is served to you. for desert i had thier chocolate cake that was horrible as well. too much bad chocolate in too much of overbaked crust. i will not comment on the appetizer or ceasar salad. onc ecomment is that when you add anchovies to that salad they ar ento supposed to be the main ingredient. wine was good and surprisingly did not ahve too mucharkup on top of the street price. if this were the best restaurant in the area it is only because there is nothing else around. anyone with a bit of familiarity with pan, grill and a stowe could cook what i had there much better in no time. skip it. go by open nature steaks at safeway and cook them at home.

As a local Snoqualmie resident and foodie I was very excited when The Woodman opened as we are in desperate need of a great steakhouse in the valley. Unfortunately the Woodman for me was a complete failure and I will not ever dine there again. I myself have been to the restaurant on 2 occasions, the first was to eat dinner with my family on a saturday night. For dinner My sister and I ordered steak, when the steaks came out not only were they not cooked to order but the meat tasted sour like it had turned. When we informed the server and then the manager of our concerns were were treated rudely and made to feel like our concerns had no basis and that we were imagining things. My husband and I decided some weeks later to give The Woodman another try, hoping that this time it would be a better experiance. We decided to sit at the bar and share some appetizers and a bottle of wine. Not only did we get lack luster service, the bartender was openly rude and told us that if we were going to have more than 2 drinks we needed to get a table and we were not allowed to just "hang out and drink" at the bar. Never have I received such horrible service and been treated so poorly in a restaurant. I will never go back to this restaurant and will most definately discourage friends and family from patronizing it as well.

Ok, the food was phenomenal. But, the service was extremely subpar. I went to Woodmans with my boyfriend for our second date. Throughout the course of the meal ( 7:30 reservation when they closed at 10:00pm) we felt rushed by the waiter. We are a younger couple of 22 and 23, and did not expect any differential treatment; however we received some. After ordering appetizers, wine, and entrees we ordered a 20 year Tawny. While talking we noticed that the staff started sitting at the bar drinking. While drinking my tawny the manager came up to us and told us that they were closing ( at 9:30). I asked for 5-10 minutes to finish my tawny and the manager said "no, we are closing now". This was extremely disrespectful after apendint $180 for a two person dinner. I will be calling tomorrow and asking for the owner to talk to the manager with regards to their extremely disrespectful service.

Hands down, the best steakhouse in the King County area for those who prefer their steak with a hearty side dish and an antique crystal, gas-lit ambience rather than a slice of foie gras and a pretentiously served Cosmo. The atmosphere is charming (even if you fear ghosts ... the place is rumored to be haunted), the service is very professional, the private banquet room is intimate, and the food rivals that of The Met, Mortons, El Gaucho, Ruthsthsths Christhs and (even though the "foodies" will come after me with their tasting spoons for saying so) John Howies. The bar, serving the full menu, is also atmospheric with the original mahogany, brass rail, and refurbished running water cuspidor. While not inexpensive, the Lodge provides significant value. (It also hosts the Murder Mystery dinner theater, though weve not gone.)

You will certainly pay for the level of awesome that the Woodman Lodge delivers, but it is worth it. The steak and salmon Ive had here have both been perfectly prepared. The service is prompt, smart and friendly, the wine list is extensive, and the interior truly appears to have barred no expense when they were decorating. This is a great place for a romantic date or a relaxing luxurious evening with family. Late edit: Just went back here for a lunch after an unfortunate experience elsewhere. The pulled pork and burger we ordered were great as were the fries. As usual they had a good selection of beers including a few from Snoqualmie Falls Brewing. The prices for this informal lunch were actually quite reasonable and the service, as always, was spectacular.
